Charlamagne Tha God’s Sexual Assault And Battery Case Dismissed

Charlamagne tha God scored a major legal victory on November. The entertainer had charges of sexual assault and battery dropped when a judge decreed that the case was past the statute of limitations. The outlet In Touch Weekly reported that the initial claims were filed too long after the alleged incident took place. Furthermore, the judge denied the accuser, Jessica Nicole Reid, the opportunity to amend her lawsuit. It was determined she had not “demonstrated” enough evidence to justify an amendment.

Reid’s allegations date over two decades. She alleges that Charlamagne tha God invited her to a party on July 8, 2001. She claimed she felt dizzy after drinking something the radio personality gave her. Reid said that she felt like her legs were going to give out, and was helped upstairs by other attendees. Once she was upstairs, though, Reid claims that Charlamagne tha God entered the room in which she was resting. He then, allegedly, assaulted her. “Charlamagne was having sex with Ms. Reid and she could not do anything about it,” her lawyers wrote in the lawsuit.

Furthermore, Reid accused Charlamagne tha God of spreading rumors about her after the alleged incident. “Every time Ms. Reid turns on the radio and hears his voice,” the lawsuit added. “Sees him on TV, and walks past his books in the stores, she is reminded of what Charlamagne did to her.” The media personality’s lawyer, Michael Weinstein, disputed these allegations outright. Weinstein claimed several witnesses saw Charlamagne tha God leave the party before the alleged assault took place. He also said Reid presented a lack of evidence, given the severity of her claims.

Reid previously attempted to bring a case against Charlamagne in 2003. In Touch Weekly states that Charlamagne voluntarily submitted DNA to South Carolina authorities, but it did not match Reid’s rape kit. The charges were then thrown out. When efforts were made to reopen the case in 2018, the South Carolina Solicitor General declined. He claimed it would be unethical to do so. The second case, the one that was recently dismissed, was filed in New York. The aforementioned judge also dismissed Reid’s claims of defamation.

Travis Scott’s Disorderly Intoxication Charge Gets Dropped After Miami Arrest

In June of this year, Travis Scott’s trip to Miami took an unexpected turn. He was arrested for alleged disorderly intoxication and trespassing. The arrest stemmed from a minor disagreement on a yacht, and he was released within hours. Reportedly, officers had asked him to leave the scene but took him into custody when he returned to gather some forgotten belongings.

Scott had a hearing this morning, which he did not attend, where his team received both good and bad news. The state of Florida has decided to move forward with a misdemeanor trespassing charge against the performer. He’s scheduled to go to trial on September 10.

On the bright side, prosecutors dropped the disorderly intoxication charge. While he’s not completely off the hook in this case, Scott is one step closer to getting it resolved for good. This is surely a relief for the hitmaker, who’s already had a pretty busy month. Aside from collaborating with Afrobeats singer Asake, seemingly getting dissed by Killer Mike, and more, Scott also teased something exciting with Playboi Carti yesterday.

The two of them are scheduled to perform together at ComplexCon in November. Billed OOCactus, the duo also unveiled a snippet of a brand new track they have on the way, which does not yet have a release date. Regardless, fans can’t wait to hear what’s to come or to see them grace the stage together later this year. What do you think of Travis Scott’s disorderly conduct charge getting dropped today after his June arrest? Jackson Mahomes Reportedly Facing Reduced Charges In Assault Case

Prosecutors have filed a motion to dismiss three felony sexual battery charges from their case against Jackson Mahomes. Per sources who spoke to TMZ, an uncooperative alleged victim has meant that the prosecution has had to amend the scope of their investigation. Despite video evidence tying Mahomes to the alleged assault of a restaurant manager in Overland Park, the woman has told prosecutors that she does not want to press charges. Furthermore, sources have gone as far as to say that the woman had threatened to say she had been untruthful about the assault and that her encounter with Mahomes had been wholly consensual.

The 23-year-old Mahomes was arrested and booked at Johnson County Detention Center in early April 2023. Furthermore, he was reportedly charged with sexual battery relating to a February incident at the Aspen Restaurant and Lounge. “Like I said from the beginning. Jackson has done nothing wrong. We had full confidence that the truth of the matter would ultimately be revealed. The defense will reserve further comment until the remaining count is disposed of,” Mahomes’ attorney told a local FOX affiliate. A judge will rule on the dismissal motion later today.

Patrick Mahomes Praises Taylor Swift

Meanwhile, Jackson’s brother Patrick recently went viral for singing the praises of Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of his teammate Travis Kelce. The Chiefs QB called Swift “top tier” and said that Swift had quickly become part of the team after she began dating Travis Kelce. Furthermore, Mahomes said he’s enjoying seeing Swift bond with his wife Brittany. Swift and Kelce recently engaged in some pre-birthday shenanigans with the Mahomes. She and Kelce recently partied until 2am with the Mahomeses to celebrate Swift’s birthday early.

In late 2023, Swift was spotted getting a little foul-mouthed with the refs during the Chiefs’ game against the Patriots. The Chiefs ended a two-game skid with a 27-17 win over the hapless Patriots. However, there were some close calls and tight moments, leading to Swift’s animated reactions. The Chiefs, who beat the Bengals last weekend to move to 10-6 on the season, close out the season against the Chargers on Sunday.
