It goes without saying that it’s already been a major year for GloRilla, but according to the Memphis-born performer, she wasn’t so sure it would be. During a recent chat with fans on Instagram Live, she opened up about the impact negative feedback has had on her over the past few months. She admits that criticism of her track “Cha Cha Cha” with Fivio Foreign and CMG The Label really got to her, but luckily, she was able to turn things around.

“Y’all made me feel cr*zy when I dropped ‘Cha Cha,’” she began. “Like y’all made me feel real cr*zy about that, and I want y’all to know that. So, I came back with a vengeance, you feel me? But you know, I love criticism… I love it until I feel like motherf*ckers be d*ck riding.”

GloRilla Says She’s Back With A Vengeance

“You learn from your mistakes and do better,” Glorilla continued. “I’m really here to tell you I’m on it, I’m back on it, I’m never getting off it.” While the hitmaker may not have gotten the best reception on the 2023 collab, she went on to see major success with her single, “Yeah Glo!” She’ll even be hitting the road with Megan Thee Stallion in May for the “Hot Girl Summer” tour. The duo will stop in notable cities like Atlanta, NYC, LA, Chicago, and more.

GloRilla also has some new music on the way, which will drop shortly before the tour begins. Her mixtape EhhThang EhhThang is slated for release on April 5, 2024. GloRilla is an artist who had an incredibly fast rise to fame. However, over the past few months, there has been this turnaround from fans. Overall, it seems like her critics are louder than ever. Moreover, when she drops a song that features questionable choices, fans are extremely quick to pile on. This is exactly what happened with the track “Cha Cha Cha.” It became viral on social media, and not for the best reasons. Even Kai Cenat weighed in, albeit in a manner that was pretty harsh.

As it turns out, Glo was actually kind of offended by Kai’s commentary. She ended up blocking the streamer, and the entire incident played out live. Kai was on Twitch streaming to his viewers when he mentioned how he is always real with how he feels. That’s when he made the claim that artists like GloRilla know it is all love. However, when he went to her Instagram page, he quickly realized he was blocked. Now, it seems like the rapper is speaking out on her decision.

“Don’t come on my Live asking me about nobody I done blocked,” she said. “They blocked and they gonna stay there. You made your bed you gotta lay there.” Simply put, she doesn’t like it when people talk badly about her music. It landed Cenat in the dog house, and he will likely never get out. Even if he apologizes, it is not a certainty that she will give his follow-up. Either way, this all just goes to show that many artists are hypersensitive about their craft. They are always watching, and they will remember what you say.

This is especially true when it comes to artists. When new music drops, Cenat will go on his stream and listen to it for the first time with his viewers. Sometimes, he offers up very positive reactions that fans believe are hyperbolic. On the flip side of that, there are instances in which he says a song sucks.

The latter has happened quite a bit as of late. In fact, it happened when Cenat listened to GloRilla’s song “Cha Cha Cha” for the very first time. The song came complete with a music video, and there were plenty of negative reactions to the track. However, Cenat’s was definitely one of the most enduring. He seemed completely disappointed by the track and even betrayed in a way. As it turns out, GloRilla felt the same way as she promptly blocked the Twitch streamer.

However, once he went on Instagram looking for her profile, he found out very quickly that he had been blocked. He was pretty devastated, although this is not the first time it has happened.
