During the WNBA All-Star Weekend, adidas Basketball emphasized its commitment to empowering women in sports and fostering the sisterhood within the W Roster, starting with a tribute to Candace Parker.
On Friday, July 19, adidas hosted a surprise ceremony for Parker, celebrating her 16-year partnership with the brand. Friends, colleagues, and family, including Chelsea Gray, Kahleah Copper, Nneka Ogwumike, Aliyah Boston, and Sue Bird, honored Parker’s contributions to the league and her leadership. Parker expressed her gratitude and reaffirmed her commitment to championing women in sports through Access, Representation, and Innovation.
The weekend continued with the annual ACE Party, which featured guests Angel Reese, Holly Rowe, Megan Rapinoe, and Breanna Stewart and a performance by Flau’jae Johnson.
Adidas also spotlighted its W roster athletes, with Sophie Cunningham competing in the Skills Challenge and Chelsea Gray, Kahleah Copper, Nneka Ogwumike, and Aliyah Boston playing in the All-Star Game. At W Live, in partnership with Dicks Sporting Goods, Aliyah Boston spoke with ESPN analyst Andraya Carter and interacted with fans, sporting Parker’s legacy tee.
The event highlighted adidas’ Exhibit Select line, with Cunningham wearing the Exhibit Select 2.0 PE, and Kahleah Copper’s “True to Norf Philly” PE, inspired by her North Philadelphia mural, being announced.
