LeBron James Speaks On Bronny’s Mindset Amid Questionable 4-Point Debut

LeBron James and Bronny are going to be teammates when the NBA season begins in October. Overall, this is going to be one of the coolest moments in the history of the NBA. A father and son duo has never existed in the league before, until now. However, Bronny’s draft into the league has come with some criticism. Many say it’s all nepotism, especially since Bronny struggled in college. Moreover, there is this sense that the kid is being set up for failure.

His Summer League debut did not help those criticisms as Bronny finished with just four points on 2-9 shooting splits. It was a bad night for the young man that subsequently led to calls for him to be cut. In the midst of this, LeBron did an interview with ESPN where he had nothing but praise for his son. As you can see below, he spoke on Bronny’s mindset. As LeBron explains, the young star could not care less about what people, have to say about him. “Bronny plays. He works his tail off. When he goes home, he plays video games,” James stated.

LeBron James Is A Proud Dad

“I actually cared a little bit when I came in,” LeBron said. “I wanted people to like me. Some of the things people were saying about me kind of bothered me early on in my career. I let it get to me. He does not care about nobody’s — he doesn’t even listen to that stuff. He’s like the complete opposite of his dad. His dad will say something. Bronny does not care.”

Let us know what you think of LeBron’s comments about his son, down below. Do you believe that Bronny deserved to be drafted into the NBA? SOURCE SPORTS: Bronny James Rises in Post-Combine Rankings to No. 54 on ESPN NBA Draft 2024 Big Board

It looks like Bronny James’ NBA draft prospects are heading upward, according to the newest rankings.

In ESPN’s latest NBA draft rankings, Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo just moved Bronny James up to No. 54 following his performance at the NBA Draft Combine. This places him in range for a late second-round pick in June’s draft, a significant jump from his rank of No. 98.

Recently at the combine, James impressed with a 40.5-inch vertical leap, shot 19-of-25 in the three-point drill, and performed well in scrimmages. As he approaches the May 29 deadline to either remain in the draft pool or return to college, his improved ranking strengthens his case for turning pro. What ya’ll think? Does he have a shot at being drafted or nah?

James’ freshman year at USC did not reflect typical NBA draft prospect statistics. And that is an understatement. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 25 games, starting only six. The Trojans finished with a 15-18 record and missed the NCAA Tournament. Granted, he was a freshman, and unbelievable hype surrounds him for merely being the son of arguably the GOAT.

James’ season was also impacted by a delayed start due to suffering cardiac arrest and undergoing a heart procedure before the season began. That in itself is unheard of to come back from a near-death experience. Consequently, he was eased into the lineup rather than given significant opportunities early on.

If James stays in the draft pool, he could potentially play alongside or against his father, 20-time All-Star LeBron James. Although LeBron has expressed a desire to play with his son in the NBA, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported earlier this month that this is no longer his priority.

Regardless, Bronny James’ NBA career could begin soon, with the 2024 NBA draft scheduled for June 26-27 in Brooklyn.

Bronny James: The Utah Jazz Are Eyeing Drafting Lebron’s Son

Reports state that the Utah Jazz are considering choosing Bronny James with the 32nd overall choice in the 2018 NBA draft. Reportedly, the Jazz have expressed interest in bringing Bronny in for an individual workout after his showing at the NBA Draft combine. The Jazz are looking to start their rebuild off right and selecting Bronny with the 32nd pick. If selecting Bronny lures his father, LeBron James, to Salt Lake City, then it is a risk that Jazz head guy Danny Ainge is more than willing to take. Looks like Bronny has a few more suitors after his showing this week.

LeBron James has the option to become a free agent by declining his player option in 2024–2025. In a fascinating twist, James could potentially sign with the team that drafts Bronny, leading to a unique scenario of father and son representing the same team. The current odds heavily favor the Lakers to select Bronny James, with the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Dallas Mavericks all trailing behind. The Bronny James sweepstakes might be off to the races.

Bronny James’ Real Height Officially Revealed During NBA Combine

Size matters in the NBA. The NBA Combine is a chance for teams to get accurate measurements of potential draft picks. A prospect’s size can contribute to how effective they will be at the next level. Height and wingspan are the most important factors. The measures taken this week will probably have an impact on draft status, both positively and negatively. Bronny James’s official height, weight, and wingspan have now been officially tallied at the NBA combine. Some of his measurements are good, but others may impact how scouts see him as a prospect.

LeBron James’ oldest child, Bronny James, had a mixed showing in the measurements department on Monday. He measured 6-foot-1.5 without shoes, even though his official height at USC was 6-4. His height measurement is not great, but his wingspan was measured at 6-foot-8, which is great for his height and can make up for being 6’1. Overall, it will be interesting to see how Bronny can overcome his physical measurements and show why he is an NBA player. He has already impressed in a couple of other areas so far at the combine.

Bronny has already expressed that his dream is to make it to the NBA, not necessarily play with his dad, LeBron James. Bronny is trying to carve his own lane after a disappointing freshman year at USC, where he had several major setbacks. The most promising thing about Bronny’s game is his athletics and shooting ability.
