Golden State Warriors Consider Adding Blake Griffin

As NBA training camps approach, teams are starting to finalize their rosters. That is leading some teams to look at the pool of remaining free agents. For the Warriors, they are looking at veteran center Blake Griffin. The 14-year veteran spent the 2022-23 season with the Celtics, playing in 41 games and starting 16. Once one of the league’s hottest players, Griffin now primarily rides the bench as he eases toward retirement.

However, first reported by Sam Amico of HoopsWire, Griffin may be headed to a Western Conference team for the first time since the Clippers traded him during the 2017/18 season. Griffin is one of several high-profile veterans who has worked out with the team. Reportedly, the Warriors are looking for one last player to roster to help with luxury tax savings. G-League prospects Lester Quinones and Jerome Robinson are also in the running for the final 14th roster spot.

Blake Griffin Could Be In Line For Chris Paul

Joining the Warriors would see Griffin reunite with one of his most famous teammates. The Warriors traded for Chris Paul earlier in the offseason, sending Jordan Poole to the Wizards who had traded for Paul in exchange for Bradley Beal. Griffin and Paul played together on the LA Clippers between 2011 and 2017. Griffin, if he does join the Warriors, would likely be expected to play a similar role to the one he held on the Nets and Celtics in previous seasons.

However, the Warriors are not the only team interested in acquiring the six-time All-Star. Amico also reported that the Clippers, Celtics, and Sixers were also monitoring Griffin’s free agency status. The Clippers would be an intriguing move for Griffin, as it would be a reunion with the team that drafted him first overall over a decade ago. With this level of interest, it’s likely that Griffin will be settling in with his new team in the near future. Where would you like to see Griffin play next?

Skip Bayless Recalls Awkward Blake Griffin Encounter

Skip Bayless is one of the most hated men in sports media. Right now, he is public enemy number one in the football world thanks to his blatant Shannon Sharpe disrespect. Having said that, Bayless still has a large voice in the sports world, and he isn’t scared to use it.

Overall, Bayless is just a troll. At times, it is hard to tell whether or not he actually believes in what he’s saying. However, he gets people to tune into his show, and that is really all that matters. When you can get ratings for your network, you’re going to have longevity on TV.

Sports journalist and television personality, Skip Bayless is featured on First Take, ESPN2’s daily sports talk show. On Friday morning, August 30, 2013, Bayless participated in debate with Stephen A. Smith as he does everyday, during their two hour morning program from 10am – noon. Skip Bayless Story Time

On the most recent episode of his new podcast, Bayless told a story about how his reputation caught up to him. Below, you can hear him talk about meeting Blake Griffin for the first time. Skip has always been critical of the Celtics star, and subsequently, the big man was cold to him at first. However, Skip noted that Griffin has since warmed up to him as they see each other often at a local golf club.

“Blake was just pretty much awkwardly nonresponsive,” Bayless explained. “In fact, I wondered if it was possible if he just didn’t know who I am. Awkwardly, I told Blake Griffin I’ll see you down the road somewhere and I’ll let you get back to practicing. About a week later, Blake rolled past me in a golf cart and he stunned me by saying ‘hey, Skip.’

The story is definitely an interesting one, although it is clear that Griffin isn’t too salty about Bayless’ slander. However, we would love to know how LeBron would react to Skip. That would be a truly hilarious meeting.

Blake Griffin’s career has been an interesting journey. Of course, Griffin made a name for himself playing with the Los Angeles Clippers during the Lob City era. He was teammates with Chris Paul, and while the team did not enjoy the success they were supposed to, there is no doubt that Griffin was able to come through with amazing highlights that fans will always remember.

Since that time, Griffin has made pit stops in Detroit and Brooklyn. His time in both of these cities were filled with uncertainty, and there is no doubt that he was upset with how little he was being played on the Nets.
