Fetty Luciano No Longer Charged With Attempted Murder

Last July, Brooklyn-based rapper Fetty Luciano was arrested for his connection to a triple shooting at a pool party in Long Island. The “Demon Juice” artist turned himself into the Glen Cove Police Department after being accused of firing a gun. Luciano faced attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment charges. Prosecutors of his case have recently dropped the murder charges.

During the 2022 incident, a fight erupted amongst partygoers at an event hosted by Big Fendi. The music manager’s birthday pool party came to an abrupt end after shots were fired. Although the resulting aftermath caused no fatalities, three people were injured, including the bodyguard who tried to split up the altercation. Police claimed Luciano as the suspect who opened fire. The rapper pleaded not guilty to his charges, and his bail was set at $200,000. Had the charges for attempted murder not been dropped, Luciano would have faced 25 years in prison. Now, his remaining case can still result in the rapper spending up to 15 years behind bars.

AllHipHop reports from multiple sources that Luciano now faces lesser charges in relation to his involvement in the shooting. “This defendant allegedly brought a loaded gun into a crowded private event and, during an altercation, discharged the weapon and struck three victims,” Attorney Anne Donnelly noted. “Thankfully, the defendant’s alleged reckless actions did not cause life-threatening injuries to the victims and no one else was hurt.”

This current trial isn’t Luciano’s first stint in jail, as he was arrested alongside fellow GS9 member Bobby Shmurda in 2018. During his imprisonment, the rapper began experimenting with his musical side, which resulted in his mixtape Story to Tell. The 10-track album features Shmurda, alongside Gunna and Landstrip Chip. Since then, the 26-year-old has only released a handful of singles, with his latest being the 2020 drop of “Bendi.” Although Luciano’s case is ongoing, his upcoming trial date is due on March 31st.
