Gunna & Chloe Bailey Spotted Holding Hands Leaving Lakers Game

The last time they were spotted together at an NBA game, Gunna and Chloe Bailey made it a point to shut down dating rumors, telling reporters that they’re just friends. However, when they visited the Crypto.com arena on Tuesday night (January 4), they seemingly didn’t make any effort to hide the fact that they’re quickly becoming more than friends, holding hands on the way out of the arena.

It seems both of the Bailey sisters are recently boo’d up. In recent weeks, Halle Bailey has been spotted a few times with rapper DDG. And now, Chlöe appears to be dating rapper Gunna.

A video was shared from the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles as fans hounded both artists for autographs and photos, where Gunna holds Chlöe’s hand and leads her to their car, which was waiting outside. Of course, them holding hands doesn’t automatically correlate to them dating, but this is the second time they were spotted courtside at a basketball game, and it seems increasingly coincidental that they keep going on solo dates as friends. Perhaps Gunna was just being a gentleman and helping Chlöe, who was wearing high heels, navigate the crowded public by holding her hand.

As dating rumors continue to fly, we’ll wait to hear an official confirmation from Gunna or Chlöe. Maybe there will be a lyric on DS4, which drops Friday, that will let the cat out of the bag?

New York City Mayor Eric Adams Under Fire For Calling Essential Workers Low-Skilled

Days after Andy Cohen drunkenly blasted former New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio for delivering “the crappiest term as the mayor of New York,” it appears that the newly elected mayor, Eric Adams, is experiencing a shaky start to his four-year term in office.

During a recent press conference, Mayor Eric Adams attempted to make history as the first mayor of New York City to wear a hoodie, but his vibrant choice of outerwear is the last thing that people are concerned with at the moment. When asked about whether New York should consider reopening in April, Adams made it clear that a four-month wait would be entirely too long.

“January, February, March, April. Four months of not having this business patronized, not having a restaurant patronized, not having business travelers come here to the city to go to our hotels? That is going to be devastating for our economy,” Eric Adams stated. “And I don’t know if my businesses are sharing with their employees [but] you’re a part of the ecosystem of this city.”

From that point on, the mayor’s speech took a nosedive as generalized essential workers as being “low-skilled.” “My low-skilled workers — my cooks, my dishwashers, my messengers, my shoe shine people, those who work at Dunkin’ Donuts,” he continued. “They don’t have the academic skills to sit in a corner office. They need this. We are in this together, and we should be saying to ourselves, ‘If remotely do my job, then that stock clerk is not going to be able to have the business he deserves.’ That’s what I need us to understand.”

Hear what Mayor Eric Adams had to say in the video below. He first mentions “low-skilled workers” at the 3:12 mark.

Now that his remarks have gone viral, everyone from New York City residents to celebrities has criticized the new mayor’s lack of respect for essential workers. Even T.I. commented on The Shade Room‘s post about Adams’ recent speech, simply writing, “Vocabulary matters.” See some of the Instagram and Twitter reactions below.

Scientists Discover New COVID Variant With 46 Mutations

COVID continues to make its rounds. After the announcement of the latest two variants Delta and Omicron (Omarion, if you will), a new variant has been found in France. According to reports a new variant named “IHU,” appears to have 46 mutations. The new variant is believed to be more infectious than the Omicron, despite the surge of new cases.

Reports claim the new variant was discovered in France through a traveler who had spent three days in Cameroon. “The person infected with the B.1.640.2 variant, dubbed IHU discovered by scientists at the IHU Mediterranee Infection, was fully vaccinated and had just returned from a three-day trip to Cameroon when they tested positive,” the report also included.

While researchers aren’t prepared to ring the panic alarm, Omicron is still a reason for concern. Announced over a month ago, the latest variant has caused a huge surge in hospitalizations, closures due to staffing issues, and long testing lines. The vaccine and booster are believed to curb severe symptoms but do not actively prevent transmission of the virus.

In the U.S, cases have surpassed more than 100,000 and continue to rise with almost half a million new cases reported. During a statement, President Joe Biden encouraged the need for vaccination, “and if you’re unvaccinated, you have some reason to be alarmed. Many of you will experience severe illness if you get COVID-19 if you’re not vaccinated. Some will die – needlessly die.”

At this time, there are no plans for state-wide shutdowns but people are encouraged to take the necessary precautions to avoid exposure.

Lil Durk & India Royale Reveal 2022 Couple Goals

Lil Durk and India Royale don’t want to be the “biggest couple” of 2022. Instead, they want to run up their bank accounts, said Durk in response to a post from DJ Akademiks.

Following their on-stage engagement at the end of last year, Lil Durk and India Royale have continued to be one of hip-hop’s most unproblematic couples, looking like the spitting image of love every time they step out together. Durk and his fiancée have been together for years but after DJ Akademiks asked his audience if they believe they’ll be “the biggest couple of 2022,” the Chicago rapper jumped into the comments to clarify that that isn’t one of his goals.

“Not our goal,” said Durk. “100mssss is,” he specified.

At the rate that Smurk has been moving in his music career, he might not be too far off from $100 million if he remains consistent for the next few years. He practically lives on the charts and following his collaboration with Drake on “Laugh Now Cry Later,” he was catapulted and became one of the most popular voices in the world. India Royale is extremely accomplished too, creating a cosmetics empire and becoming a famous influencer on social media.

Do you think their couple’s goal is attainable within the year?

Bobby Shmurda Explains Real Reason Behind His Viral Dance Moves

Bobby Shmurda is a free man and his “Shmoney” dance proves it. Since his infectious single “Hot N*gga” that dropped back in 2014, Shmurda has been known for his smooth, hip-thrusting dance. In a recent post, he gave some insight on his time behind bars and his appreciation for his well-deserved freedom.

On Jan. 4th, the rapper reposted a video on IG that shows inmates dancing with massive makeshift shanks and knives. The rapper revealed that he was once one of those same inmates doing those dances while wielding weapons, but now he dances as a free man. “Watch them Mf’s who be dancing when they come out of jail [laughing emojis] had one the size of my foot I used to walk around with in my socks (Frank and beans) lol nah but Rns I rather dance outside free in videos stages clubs iG TicToc wherever I could then to do it in there again so remember to appreciate your freedom!!!!,” he captioned the photo.

After serving six years behind bars, Shmurda doesn’t hesitate to dance any chance he gets. His Quavo and Rowdy Rebel-assisted visual for “Shmoney” inspired a slew of TikTok videos showing users doing their own rendition of the iconic dance.

His carefree dance moves even garnered a stamp of approval from fellow rapper, Wiz Khalifa. Too high to dance, he praised Shmurda for his effortless dance style. “If I could dance like Bobby Shmurda I would. I be too stoned to move my body like that but that shits hella awesome to watch,” he joked on Twitter.

Happily pelvic-thrusting every chance he gets, it’s clear that the rapper is embracing his freedom.

Pooh Shiesty Addresses Fans After Pleading Guilty

Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty pleaded guilty to one count in his federal robbery case this week, which prompted prosecutors to drop three other charges against him. Additionally, the rapper is also no longer facing a life sentence, as prosecutors have agreed that they will suggest no more than a ninety-seven-month sentence, which equals just over eight years.

While eight years would be a terrible blow for the 22-year-old superstar rapper, who is really just getting started with his music career, it’s a much lighter sentence than life, so he has to be breathing a major sigh of relief. Still though, we’re sure his legal team will be working around the clock to ensure he gets the lightest sentence possible when it comes time for his sentencing trial.

Following his guilty plea this week, Shiesty spoke out to his fans via Instagram Stories. He shared an older picture of himself showing off his shiny 1017 chain, saying, “This was pre-game it’s still the beginning of me y’all ain’t seen half yet.”

He sounds confident that he’ll get back home soon, which is promising. However, with the possibility of eight years still on the table, his defense will need to fight hard for him so he can return to the studio and deliver another tape as strong as Shiesty Season

Russell Westbrook Shocks Fans With First Zero Turnover Game In 5 Years

Russell Westbrook has had an interesting season with the Lakers, to say the least. Over the first dozen games, Westbrook was being plagued by turnover issues and it was beginning to get on the nerves of Lakers fans. Eventually, the issues kind of went away, however, in recent weeks, they have come back with a vengeance, which has promptly led to trade rumors.

Last night, however, Westbrook did something that he hasn’t done in almost six years. While playing against the Sacramento Kings, Westbrook didn’t register a single turnover. The last time he did that was back in March of 2016, which just goes to show how rare this really is for the point guard. Suffice it to say, Westbrook didn’t get a turnover, and would you look at that, the Lakers won.

With this stat going semi-viral on Twitter, fans decided to chime in with their commentary on it all. As you can see, many were surprised that it’s been that long, while others noted that NBA players need to be bullied into playing better, more often.

Either way, fans were happy for Russ, although for some Lakers fans, it was a frustrating reminder of Westbrook’s inconsistent numbers.

You can check out some of the highlights from the game, down below.

LeBron James Yells In Tristan Thompson’s Face: Watch

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers had a very good night on Tuesday as they defeated the Sacramento Kings by a score of 122-114. The Lakers came into this game with a record of 19-19 and if they wanted to get back above .500, they needed to win. In the end, that is exactly what they did on the back of LeBron’s 31-point performance that saw him reaching another new height.

James has been on a complete tear over the last eight games and fans can’t believe what they are seeing from a man who just turned 37 years old a few days ago. LeBron is still a top five player right now, and last night was another example of how this is the case.

James was certainly feeling himself during the game and he let it be known. After scoring a layup late in the game, LeBron stared down the Kings bench, including his former teammate Tristan Thompson, who wasn’t playing. LeBron yelled “I’m a motherf*****g problem!” in his face, and then dapped up his teammates before returning to his assignment on defense. It was a pretty bad ass moment and one that had Thompson a bit shook.

LeBron has been trying to make a statement as of late, and it appears to be working. The Lakers have had their fair share of issues but with their latest winning streak in mind, it seems like the team is poised for a strong second half to the season.

Baby Tate Trolls Critics By Lightening Her Skin & Photoshopping Her Butt

Last fall, the artist formerly known as Yung Baby Tate updated her stage name and flexed her new major label deal with the release of her Warner Records debut single “PEDI.” Those who listened to the rising Atlanta artist’s song know that she’s a self-professed “petty a** b*tch,” and on Tuesday afternoon, Baby Tate proved how petty she can be while trolling some of her critics on Twitter.

After one her fans tweeted, “Baby Tate would be further if her skin was lighter .. truth be told, because the talent is undeniable,” the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star fired off a barrage of tweets before eventually sharing an extremely photoshopped photo as a lighthearted jab at her detractors.

In response to the fan’s claim that colorism has prevented the After The Rain artist from reaching a higher level of success, Baby Tate wrote, “Nobody misinterpreted your tweet. You think I have not been accepted in the industry due to my skin tone and body shape. And what I am telling you is that there is no woman lighter than me with no record deal that is further than me. If there is plz show me. I was independent.”

Baby Tate also alluded to when Lil Baby’s first baby mother, Ayesha “Little Ms. Golden,” tried to fat-shame her, saying, “Y’all really let that lady convince you I was fat.” To top everything off, Baby Tate then shared a photoshopped version of one of her recent photos, in which her skin was drastically lightened and her butt was enlargened.

See all of Baby Tate’s responses, as well as her hilarious troll tweet below.

Lastly, Baby Tate capped off the back-and-forth with fans by announcing that she will be dropping a double mixtape as her first full-length release under Warner Records. “My upcoming double mixtape is going to be my MOST SUCCESSFUL PROJECT YET,” she tweeted. “Let’s go @warnerrecords.”

What are your thoughts on the entire situation? Is it harmful for fans to reduce artists’ accomplishments due to their own perception of how successful they should be? And does colorism play a part in Baby Tate’s progression, despite her claim otherwise?
