Cardi B is weighing in again on her feelings about the candidates in the Presidential election. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper addressed another slew of controversial and downright concerning comments made by Donald Trump at an event in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday, July 26.
Here’s what went down. At the event organized by the conservative group Turning Point Action, Trump urged Christians to vote, stating, “Christians, get out and vote! Just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years. You know what? It’ll be fixed! It’ll be fine! You won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you, Christians!”
We reported earlier on this and we are reminding ya’ll, yes, he said that. That’s dictator talk if you are not familiar.
Trump continued in his dictator-ish tone, “You gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good [that] you’re not gonna have to vote.”
Cardi B, wasn’t feeling those sound bites. She responded to Trump’s remarks by quote-tweeting a clip of his speech, asking, “[Is he] whistleblowing a dictatorship?”
Full stop. Can we admire the evolution of Cardi B in the political sphere?
Not so long ago, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Cardi B had expressed her disillusionment with both Trump and Joe Biden, stating, “I don’t f**k with both of y’all n**gas.” Her comments led some fans to misinterpret her stance, with one Twitter user suggesting she had turned Republican. Cardi B quickly clarified, “I will never turn Republican.”
Cardi was standing on business. Clearly.
While she has yet to endorse any candidate officially, Cardi B stated she would support anyone who could negotiate a ceasefire in Gaza. “I want a peaceful treaty between Palestine and Israel,” she said on Tuesday, July 23. “I want innocent people to stop dying. That’s all I want.”
Kamala Harris, the prospective Democratic candidate, seemed to respond to this sentiment, emphasizing, “It is time for this war to end,” following a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday, July 25.
So maybe Cadi B is signaling she is leaning one particular way. Only time will tell.
