Blueface Reflects On Life Changing Cardi B Feature On “Thotiana”

Blueface has been everywhere in the past few months just as people claimed that he fell off. Though it’s true, he isn’t releasing music at the same rate as he once did. Also, people don’t necessarily recognize him for his artistic output. At one point, he was recognized as one of the hottest rappers to come out of California. However, that momentum died down significantly in recent times, especially once he began dating Chrisean Rock and turned into a reality star.

Ultimately, Blueface did what most rappers do when the hype begins to dwindle – leap into reality TV. Blue Girls Club and Crazy In Love‘s success propelled him to the forefront of headlines every single week. Some might feel as though he abandoned his career. Still, none of the success he had in recent times would’ve happened without his hit record, “Thotiana,” which later earned a remix featuring Cardi B.

Blueface On Cardi B Feature

At the time “Thotiana” began to gain a buzz, Blueface delivered impromptu concerts at high schools in the Los Angeles area. However, the success of the song eventually led to a Billboard top 10 single for Blueface, which wouldn’t have happened without an appearance from Cardi B. The rapper took to Instagram this weekend where he reflected on how Cardi landed on the song and the impact it had on his career.

“When I got that cardi feature I never spoke with her prior to the studio session or recording of the music video everything was done from management to management to ensure professional business no money was exchanged for anything because it made cents for everyone no leverage,” he wrote. “That feature changed my life fasho that’s the only way we doing business in 2023,” he added in another tweet. It’s no doubt that the Cardi B co-sign eventually led to collaborations with other rappers, such as Offset and Snoop Dogg, down the line. Though it’s unclear if Blueface will release another project in the near future, there’s no doubt that he had a firm grip on hip-hop when “Thotiana” dropped.  Check out his tweets above.
