Victor Oladipo To Miss Time With Knee Injury

Victor Oladipo was hoping to someday be on the Miami Heat, despite being traded to the Houston Rockets back in January. Of course, Oladipo was a part of the James Harden trade, as the Indiana Pacers entered the fray as a third team. Rumors immediately began to surface that Oladipo would eventually be traded to the Heat, who were in need of a fresh face to play with Jimmy Butler. In the end, the trade took place and so far, Oladipo has appeared to be at home with the team.

Now, however, Oladipo will have to miss some significant time with a knee injury after hurting himself during last night’s match against the Lakers. According to reporter Ira Winderman, Oladipo will have to miss the team’s road trip which will last a total of four games.

This is certainly bad news for the Miami Heat who are in the midst of a playoff battle. They are sixth in the Eastern Conference and with every single team hovering around similar win totals, the Heat are going to need as much help as possible, moving forward.

Hopefully, Oladipo will be able to come back soon and help this Heat team go on yet another deep playoff run.

George Floyd’s Sister Bridgett Explains Why She Can’t Watch Video Of His Final Moments

His image has been at the forefront of recent social justice movements worldwide but to those who knew and loved George Floyd, he was a father, brother, friend, and loved one. We’re in the thick of the Derek Chauvin trial and while Floyd supporters are hoping for a conviction, many don’t have as much faith in America’s justice system.

Floyd’s sister, Brigett Floyd, sat down with The Shade Room to speak candidly about her late brother and the police officer responsible for his death. “My brother is not on trial. Derek is on trial,” said Bridgett. “So I would love for them to keep it the way that it’s supposed to go. They’re bringing my brother up day after day after day as if he done something wrong. He hasn’t done anything wrong. The officer is the one who killed him.”

“Every time I think I’m ready to hear my brother cry for help, I have to get up and leave out because I’m just not ready, but I want to be ready so bad because I want to hear what that officer did to him,” she said of not being able to watch the troublesome video of her brother’s final moments. “I want to see what really happened, but my heart just…every time I think about it, my stomach gets cramping up, my heart starts fluttering, I get weak because that was a man that loved me, he loved his family and to see him on the ground like that.”

Bridgett added that it may take a guilty verdict to force her to watch the viral clip, but she’s still not sure. “I am hoping and praying that this guilty verdict comes along, and I will be able to actually see for myself what happened from detail to detail. What happened to my brother, and that’s all I wanted to say.”

“This incident touched the world. People in other countries are fighting for us, so I think they’re going to make the right decision about this because this is not just an ordinary, regular death that happened. Nine minutes and 29 seconds. We thought it was eight minutes and 46 seconds, which was long enough – too long – but now they have said nine minutes and 29 seconds. Almost 10 minutes.”

Watch Bridgett Floyd speak with The Shade Room about her brother, the George Floyd Policing Act that will hopefully hold police officers accountable, and Chauvin’s trial below.

Wizkid And Tems Value The ‘Essence’ Of Intimacy In Their Vibrant New Video

Last fall, Wizkid released his fourth album, Made In Lagos and it quickly grew to be a favorite out of the projects released during the 2020 portion of the pandemic. Unfortunately, the global circumstances may have prevented its enjoyment to the fullest, as a good listen in the summer sun would’ve made the experience even better. However, with the summer just around the corner again, Made In Lagos could finally receive that moment and the Nigerian afro-fusion star reminds fans of the album’s beauty with a vibrant visual for “Essence.”

Backed by an excellent contribution from Nigerian singer Tems, the two head over to the motherland for the new video. The singers flaunt the brightest of colors as they sing about the intimacy and close connection they seek between themselves and their partners. Wizkid rides around the neighborhood with a pair of women beside, both who seem infatuated with the singer, while Tems takes to the comfort of her home to sing her captivating verse.

The visual arrives after Wizkid earned his first-every Grammy Award as a result of he is contribution to Beyonce’s “Brown Skin Girl” track, an effort that also gave Saint John and Blue Ivy their first Grammy wins. The “Essence” video is also the fourth from the Made In Lagos, with “Smile,” “No Stress,” and “Ginger” being the other videos to receive the visual treatment.

Steve Kerr Answers Whether He’d Leave Warriors To Coach Alma Mater

Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors have had a ton of success over the better part of a decade, however, these last couple of years have been difficult for the franchise as they have dealt with a plethora of injuries that have completely taken the wind out of their sails. Some have been using Kerr as a scapegoat for these problems and some wonder what his future will be with the team if he ends up not making the playoffs for a second-straight year.

Now, his alma mater Arizona is looking for a head coach, and today, Kerr was asked if he would ever consider coaching the team. While it would be fun for Kerr, he is mostly committed to the Warriors right now.

“I have thought about coaching my alma mater,” Kerr said. “But I have a great job right now coaching the Warriors. I’m not going anywhere, but I’m very interested in what happens. I have a lot of love for my alma mater and definitely want to thank Sean (Miller) for his 12 years of commitment to the school. He had some great years and did a lot of great things. I really am supportive of everything that the university is going to do going forward. If they need my help, I will offer my help.”

Even if Kerr was to leave the Warriors, one would have to assume that he would get a job within the NBA given the fact he has won three NBA titles. Regardless, Arizona fans can only hope, at least for now.

Charlamagne Tha God Understands Why LeBron James Wouldn’t Reveal Vaccination Plans

Soon, everyone in America will be able to freely get the COVID-19 vaccine, but that doesn’t mean all citizen are rushing to get their shot. As summer approaches and rumors of travel restrictions for the non-vaccinated abound, even the skeptical are changing their tune about not wanting to be vaccinated. Recently, LeBron James refused to answer a question regarding whether or not he’ll be making an appointment, and Charlamagne Tha God said he didn’t have a problem with Bron’s lack of a response.

“I think that we live in this era where we think public figures have to make everything public,” Charlamagne told Dr. Oz while visiting his show. “I think that LeBron understands the power of his voice meaning that if he does feel that way about the vaccine or he does have some distrust towards the vaccine, he’s not going to just put it out there and say it because then that would probably make other people not want to make their own decision.”

“They will be like, ‘LeBron is not taking it so I’m not going to take it either,'” he added. “For him to say, ‘It’s going to be a private decision between me and my family,’ I thought that was the responsible thing to do.” There have also been conversations regarding the historical treatment of Black people in the United States, particularly centered around how they have been used in medical experiments. This has caused a conversation about the community’s lack of trust.

“Well, I can’t speak for the whole black community because black people aren’t monolithic,” said The Breakfast Club host. “But it definitely is a distrust when it comes to just the systemic racism in the medical system. People will point to the Tuskegee experiment; they’ll point to the Henrietta Lacks case. For me, I’ve had people from the Biden administration, I’ve had people from Governor Cuomo’s team reach out to me and asked me to be on these task forces to help lead people to get the vaccine, lead black people to get the vaccine.”

“I always say, ‘Man, I’ve never seen you all in a rush to remedy anything else in the black community. When it comes to poverty, when it comes to police brutality, when it comes to all of these things that we know the black community could use in order to thrive. I don’t ever see you all in a rush with anything to remedy those issues but with this vaccine, it’s just like we’ve got to get it to black people and we’ve got to get it to black people now.’ It’s just like no.”

Have you received or do you plan on receiving the COVID-19 vaccine? Watch Charlamagne on The Dr. Oz Show below.
