Steph Curry Wins Scoring Title As Warriors Clinch 8th Seed In Standings

Following a 46-point performance, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry secured the 2020-21 NBA scoring title. The two-time MVP will finish the season averaging 32 points per game.

“He’s never been better, I can say that,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said of Curry’s performance this year. “He’s been great for a long time, though, so it’s hard to say he’s at his best now because he’s been like this for years. I think what’s different this year is just the supporting cast is different. We’ve got a much younger team; he’s been asked to do a lot more with this group and he’s gone above and beyond what we’ve asked of him.

“Just an incredible season and I’ll just leave it at that: He’s never been better than he is right now.”

Washington Wizards All-Star Bradley Beal finished narrowly behind Curry with 31.3 points per game.

Curry thanked his health as a prime reason he’s been able to play at such a high level:

“I’ve been blessed to be back healthy and be able to just play night in, night out at a high level. And the work that goes into it, it pays off, and it’s something that I really, really rely on, especially at this point in my career. As the years go on, that is the difference-maker for me. Nobody really sees it on a day-to-day (basis), but I’m really proud of what I put into it, and the team — they know who they are — that help me and push me and motivate me. I’m going to keep doing that until I can’t anymore.”

Sunday’s win clinched the eighth seed in the Western Conference for the Warriors.

Keegan-Michael Key Parodies Michael Jordan In “The Last Dance” For “SNL”

Keegan-Michael Key hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time, this weekend, and starred in a The Last Dance parody as Michael Jordan during the show. The sketch pokes fun at the NBA legend’s competitiveness, even when he’s off the court.

In the skit, the cast parodies a viral scene from the documentary which shows Jordan compete in a coin toss bet with bodyguard John Michael Wozniak. In SNL’s version, Jordan takes it to the next level with increasingly ridiculous stakes put on the game.

“If you’re not playing to win, why play?” Key jokes as Jordan.

In his monologue earlier in the night, Key demonstrated his appreciation for the iconic show by fitting “every single SNL thing” into a single opening segment.

“I used to sneak downstairs to watch SNL every week,” he recalled. “If you had told that kid that one day he would be standing here on this stage, he probably would’ve been too busy stealing your wallet to have heard what you said. But I’ve come a long way since then, and I am so honored to be here, and because of that, I am going to make the most of it.”

Chloe Bailey Dazzles With An Enchanting Cover Of Rihanna’s ‘Love On The Brain’

Last week, Chloe X Halle celebrated the one-year anniversary of “Do It,”, the second and most popular single from their excellent sophomore album, Ungodly Hour. The track became the duo’s most successful song and helped push the Bailey sisters into the mainstream spotlight. Months after they released the single, the once inseparable duo was forced to take some extended time apart as Halle crossed the pond to film her role in Disney’s live-action rendition of The Little Mermaid. All the while, Chloe has been sharing excellent covers of songs. On Sunday she delivered another one.

Chloe returned with a dazzling cover of Rihanna’s “Love On The Brain,” a highlight from the singer’s 2016 album Anti. Chloe delivered her own rendition of the song with only slight alterations, making it her own while not straying too far away from the original. The new cover arrives after she took on Cardi B’s “Be Careful,” a performance that the rapper said left her “smiling from ear to ear.” Chloe also covered Silk Sonic’s “Leave The Door Open,” The Weeknd’s “Earned It,” Giveon’s “Heart Anniversary,” and more.

You can watch the “Love On The Brain” cover in the post above.

“I feel like Joe feels like a lot of the success of this podcast is based over his music career,” Mal said in this weekend’s video. “And my thing is, it’s not. I been in some of these cities when you were a rapper, Joe. … This many people weren’t showing up for you.”

Budden apologized soon after the incident exploded online, admitting that he displayed poor leadership skills.

“Seeing all of this feedback and all this —I do need to apologize to Rory, as well,” he said. “Maybe Rory and Mal, too, but definitely Rory … things sound a lot spicier in the go-out.”

He added: “Ever since that last pod, I’ve just been having like pictures in my head of every moment that me and the guys have ever had together. When I say I didn’t ask you to do shit for me — ‘cause I don’t ask y’all to do shit for me but that’s a man thing to me.”

Liz Cheney Warns “There’s No Question” That Another Capitol Riot Could Happen

Representative Liz Cheney says “there’s no question” that an insurrection similar to the Capitol riot on January 6th could happen again. Cheney spoke with ABC’s This Week after being removed from her position as House Republican Conference chair by the pro-Trump wing of the GOP.

“I think there’s no question,” Cheney said. “We’ve now seen the consequences. We’ve seen how far President Trump was willing to go. We’ve seen not only his, his provocation of the attack, but his refusal to send help when it was needed, his refusal to immediately say, ‘stop.’ And that in and of itself, in my view, was a very clear violation of his oath and of his duty.”

A for the party’s choice of Elise Stefanik, the Trump-backed appointee set to replace her, Cheney says it’s dangerous:

I think it’s dangerous. I think that we have to recognize how quickly things can unravel. We have to recognize what it means for the nation to have a former president who has not conceded and who continues to suggest that our electoral system cannot function, cannot do the will of the people. And I think it’s very important for Republicans who won’t be part of that to stand up and speak out.

Moneybagg Yo’s ‘A Gangsta’s Pain’ Reclaims The No. 1 Spot On The ‘Billboard’ Albums Chart

Prior to Sunday, only three albums had spent more than one week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2021. The first was Taylor Swift’s Evermore as it claimed the top spot twice in January. Next was Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Album, which spent its first ten weeks dominating the charts after its debut in late January — the most in Billboard history. Nearly three months later, Justin Bieber’s Justice would land two nonconsecutive weeks atop the album charts. Now, Moneybagg Yo can add himself to this list, as his latest album, A Gangsta’s Pain, is back on top.

Just two weeks ago, the Memphis rapper’s project debuted at No. 1 thanks to a total of 110,000 album units in its first week. Two weeks later, it’s back on top thanks to 61,000 album units, a number comprised of 60,000 streaming equivalent album units. The album’s sales last week are the second-lowest number by a No. 1 album this year behind Taylor Swift’s Evermore, which posted 56,000 when it topped the chart in January. On top of that, this week’s Billboard 200 makes the first time in two months that no albums debuted in the top ten positions of the chart.

After A Gangsta’s Pain debuted at No. 1, Moneybagg shared a video for “Free Promo,” with Lil Durk and Polo G, which made for the fifth song from the album to receive the video treatment.

“It’s gonna be a war, man. It’s gonna be a knockout, there’s no doubt,” he said.

“Well, after seeing him [Odom] training, he was training down there with the same guy that trains Kevin Hart, and he was training good. … His comeback is gonna be phenomenal, and same with Aaron Carter,” he continued.

Former NBA Player Ben Uzoh Detailed What It Was Like Defending J. Cole

Ben Uzoh, who suited up against J. Cole and the Rwanda Patriots for the Rivers Hoopers, Sunday, spoke about Cole’s peformance on the court after the matchup. Uzoh previously played for the New Jersey Nets & Toronto Raptors in the NBA.

As for his response when he heard he’d be playing against the rapper fresh off of the release of The Off-Season, Uzoh told Complex, “I was shocked and I was excited just because I knew the angle BAL, FIBA, and the NBA wanted to take in wanting him to be a part of it. He’s been up there in New York. He’s really tied in with some of the NBA guys that go and workout there. I’m sure there were talks and developments that happened well beyond just a couple weeks ago when he said he was going to sign. The angle he took, I was definitely excited.”

Cole finished with three points, three rebounds, and two assists, in the span of 17 minutes.

As for his performance, Uzoh said, “MAN, I think he got away with a foul one time. Without being so critical of him, I take it back to how he was able to suit up with a lot of professionals who represent their countries on this continent. He was able to represent Rwanda and the Patriots and even North Carolina. I’d rather hang it on that so shoutout to J. Cole and everything he brought for this inaugural season.”

Uzoh added that he’s a big fan of Cole’s music: “Absolutely. Me and one of my sisters went to a concert of his. I definitely respect his humility and storytelling. He’s one of my favorite rappers. He’s just a different guy. He’s really woke on a lot of issues that take place in the world.”
