A jury convicted Derek Chauvin of murder for the death of George Floyd but his attorney is requesting that the verdict gets tossed. Per CNN, Eric Nelson, attorney for Chauvin, filed a motion for a re-trial on claims that there were errors made amongst the jury and in their decision to convict the former Minneapolis police officer.

Nelson’s motion listed factors such as “abuse of discretion that deprived the Defendant of a fair trial” and “a verdict that is contrary to law,” among others. Nelson also stated that there were errors made by the judge, intimidation of witnesses, misconduct among prosecutors, and an overwhelming amount of publicity that would make the outcome unfair. “The publicity here was so pervasive and so prejudicial before and during this trial that it amounted to a structural defect in the proceedings,” Nelson wrote.

Nelson elaborated on claims of the court had “abused its discretion by not granting the defense’s request to change venues to sequester the jury. As for prosecutors committing misconduct, Nelson said it was “including but not limited to: disparaging the Defense; improper vouching; and failing to adequately prepare its witnesses.”

During his final statement, Nelson requested a mistrial. The judge denied the motion but added that there would be grounds to appeal. We’ll keep you posted on any more updates surrounding the trial.

It’s been a busy season for Tory Lanez. He’s recently shared a series of capsules, the latest being his R&B offering Playboy, and last weekend, he hosted a live virtual concert where he was praised for his talents. Days ago, we learned that Lanez and Chris Brown were working on a joint album, and Lanez has been developing other ventures, as well, including a water brand that he stated would help victims in the recent Texas storm. 

The singer also reportedly wants to do more for people who may have great ideas for businesses but need investors. Lanez made the announcement over on Twitter that he’s working on helping a select few fulfill their dreams.

“I’m going to create a funding system for independent women with small businesses,” tweeted Lanez. “My female fans hit my DM with such amazing business plans … now it’s time I figure how to get them to the next step !!!” He returned to add, “And I’ma figure out how to help my umbrellas with these FUCKED UP STUDENT LOANS ….. don’t worry y’all just wait.”

Aside from his plans to help others, Lanez is still facing legal battles. Love & Hip Hop Miami‘s Prince reportedly sued Lanez over an alleged physical altercation at a nightclub and the singer’s shooting case involving Megan Thee Stallion is ongoing.

Honeykomb Brazy is facing gun and drug charges after he was arrested for probation violation earlier on Monday morning. Per Fox10, the rapper was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for violating his conditions in connection to a shootout in Montgomery, AL. 

Police said the shootout took place two days before the rapper was heading back to his hometown of Mobile, AL for his grandparents’ funeral who died in a house fire in February. The District Attorney claims that the rapper’s crew and a rival crew got into a shootout outside of a barbershop in Montgomery. Alleged footage of the incident reveals a car rolling up on the rapper and his associates and began firing their guns. Brazy allegedly returned fire. 

The District Attorney is seeking the judge’s approval to revoke Honeykomb Brazy’s probation with the new set of evidence surrounding the charges he faces. The D.A. also wants his probation to be rescinded for not reporting to his probation officer and leaving the state without permission.

A member of Brazy’s team shared a statement from the rapper through his Instagram page asking for “the best lawyer,” and offering an explanation to his arrest.

“They brung up charges from 2016 n they ain’t start targeting me like this until my grandparents got killed[.] My probation officer try to make me report the day b4 the funeral I felt disrespected because I just saw him 2 days be n when I left 6 police cars pulled me over for nun… That was on my bday Feb. 23 the funeral was Feb 26 he tries to make come back Feb 25 like I was going threw so much n I was feeling like they was trying to plant some on me.”

Academy Award winner and member of the legendary Three 6 Mafia Crunchy Black has been making headlines of late, largely in part to a still-ongoing multi-part interview with DJ Vlad. Never one to pull punches or filter his true feelings, as evidenced by his recent assessment of Saweetie, Crunchy once again found himself swept into the conversation surrounding the ongoing legal case between Tory Lanez and Megan The Stallion. 

Adamantly maintaining that Tory Lanez indeed shot Megan, DJ Vlad once again voiced his belief that Tory would end up in jail for his alleged involvement. He also revealed that an irate Tory actually hit his DMs afterward, prompting Vlad to sound off on the melodically-inclined rapper. It should be noted that Crunchy Black has previously voiced his displeasure with Tory Lanez in the past, having deemed him a “sucka” in another Vlad TV interview last October.

This time, Crunchy has a more direct message for Tory. “I saw the little video trying to act like he won the case,” he begins. “But we know, just as well as you know, Mr. Tory Lanez. I heard in the song, he said ‘I don’t give a fu*k if you like me or not.’ And I felt like he was talking to me. Well, I’m talking to you, Tory Lanez. I don’t give a fu*k if you don’t like me. I don’t do sweetheart rapping. I’m not going to tell a bitch I love her when I really don’t. All that sweetheart shit you doing — fu*k him! I fu*k with Megan Thee Stallion, and I mean that.”

“I’m not going to cop out like ‘maybe she was lying,’ or none of that cause she was telling the truth,” he continues. “Fu*k you, n***a. I will never need you to sing on a song for me. Unless Juicy J or DJ Paul call you, and put me on the song. Fu*k you, you lame as fu*k.” Vlad proceeds to dub the Canadian rapper “Tory Lamez,” prompting a hearty chuckle from Crunchy. “That’s a good one,” he laughs, before signing off with a truly x-rated final statement on the matter.

It’s been nearly eight years since Rockstar unveiled Grand Theft Auto 5 with plenty of fans anticipating the next installment in the iconic video game series. There have been updates surrounding GTA 6 over the years, though no concrete information on its release has been made available.

Internet sleuths and gamers alike have been hunting down any possible sign or update surrounding the video game but it appears that Rockstar may have dropped a massive clue. The video game company dropped a job advertisement seeking game testers in different parts of the world including India and Edinburgh. Rockstar didn’t specify that they needed testers for GTA 6 but they did note that applicants should be familiar with their previous titles. One would assume Grand Theft Auto would be among those titles.

Unfortunately, there haven’t been many updates aside from the job posting. Word on road is that Rockstar is currently preparing to re-launch GTA V for the latest consoles such as PS5 and XBox Series X|S. There’s also a possibility that a standalone GTA online game would be coming.  Additionally, there have been some reports that 2022 or 2023 will be when the next installment of the game arrives.

In related news, an Illinois lawmaker proposed to ban Grand Theft Auto along with other violent video games in an attempt to thwart the surge of carjacking. No word on whether that proposal held up.
