Rubi Rose Denies Designer’s Claims That She Won’t Return Clothing

A Bad Girls Club alum is accusing Rubi Rose of keeping items that don’t belong to her. Often, stylists will partner with designers or stores to pull clothing for their celebrity clients. The items are worn on red carpets, in music videos, for photoshoots, during concerts, and more, and later the clothing is returned to its origins and everyone received a bit of publicity.

Bad Girls Club star JeLaminah Lanier claims that is exactly what happened with Rubi Rose and she publicly called out the rapper for not returning her Normal Culture clothing items. However, Rubi Rose doesn’t think this is her problem.

“Ok so I let a stylist friend of mine pull looks for @RubixxRose from my showroom. This was at the end of February, I keep asking for my stuff back and I’m getting the runaround and I don’t appreciate it,” JeLaminah wrote. “This girl even performed in my outfit. Never said thank you or acknowledged. Never acknowledged my brand. @RubixxRose I want my stuff back and I want it back today. You live in DTLA just like I do. On the same street to be exact. Run me my Normal Culture stuff. I’m tired of asking and practically begging at this point.”

“What’s sad is that I actually liked @RubixxRose. Very cute girl. But [in] this life have to do right or their will be consequences. At the very least when you performed, you coulda tagged my brand then. I wouldn’t have cared about when the other stuff was given back.” The rapper was made aware of JeLaminah’s complaint and commented that she’s not responsible.

“I don’t know shorty or her brand. Thank you for the clothes. You should talk to @thatssokhalil , I have nothing to do with that. I charge for promo, there must have been a mishap,” Rose responded. Check out the tweets below and let us know who you think is at fault.

Back in 2019, when DJ Khaled dropped his 11th album, Father of Ashad, he released a boatload of videos within the first 24 hours. With his new album Khaled Khaled, he’s doing something similar, though at a much slower rate this time around. The latest is for “Every Change I Get,” and it finds the rapper stasnding side by side with Lil Baby and Lil Durk, all of them surrounded by women, luxury cars, burning objects, and more, all while Durk and Baby deliver verses about their relentless pursuit of success.

The new video is the fourth that Khaled’s has released in five days. He kicked things off with a lavish one for “Sorry Not Sorry,” with Jay-Z and Nas, before heading to Jamaica to connect with reggae artists Buju Banton, Capleton, and Bounty Killer for their collaboration “Where You Come From.” Next, he called on Lil Wayne and Jeremih for the album’s intro track, “Thankful.”

As for Durk and Baby, the two rappers are currently working on their joint album, The Voice & The Hero, which is set to arrive in the near future.

Lil Nas X Has Fun With Trolls, Doesn’t Care About Offending Straight Fans

He’s preparing for his performance on Saturday Night Live, but first, Lil Nas Xenjoying the limelight of his Entertainment Weekly feature. The singer has been a controversial hot topic after releasing his “Montero” single back in March. The song itself ruffled feathers for the more conservative audience as it references gay sex, but it was the music video that sent people over the edge.

The religious imagery and devil lapdances were intended to call forth the public’s hypocrisies, but there was such a movement against the single that Lil Nas X had to recall his “Satan Shoes” and “Montero” was pulled from streaming services. Nas X previously shared that he’d been waiting nine months to release “Montero,” and he recently told EW that he did have concerns about his heterosexual fanbase.

“At first I was really afraid of alienating any of my straight fans,” he said. “But then it was kind of like, if they feel offended, they were never really here for me. They were here for whatever version of myself they made up in their head.” The “Old Town Road” artist also spoke about his trolls, noting that when he was first gaining attention, he didn’t have time for negativity. However, he’s learned to have fun with it.

“When I first got famous, I would block everybody,” said Nas X. “But now it’s like, okay, cool. For me, I would rather somebody hate the s— out of me when they’re talking about me rather than not say anything at all, because that’s giving more power to my name… I’m very much a chaotic, good person. I almost never want to start shooting at somebody who didn’t bring it to my doorstep, you know?”

“But I kind of live for when somebody tries to get me and I’m ready to throw it back at them tenfold,” he added. “Do I feel bad about it sometimes? Every now and then, but I feel less bad knowing that I didn’t start it. I try to never throw stones, but if somebody throws one at me, I’m throwing an entire house.”

YFN Lucci Indicted On Racketeering Charges In Connection To An Atlanta Murder

YFN Lucci is once again in trouble with the law. The Atlanta rapper, born Rayshawn Bennett, was indicted on racketeering charges connected to a murder that occurred in his hometown of Atlanta. The announcement was shared through the city’s local news station, WSB-TV, which also revealed that Bennett was one of 12 individuals indicted in relation to the incident. The rapper is also accused of tampering with evidence at the crime scene, strangulation, encouraging the assault of a person for playing a rival gang’s music, and other offenses.

After news of the indictment arrived, Bennett’s lawyer Drew Fielding denied the accusations in a statement to WSB-TV. “He’s not a gang member,” Fielding said. “What he is is an internationally recognized musical artist that is a triple platinum winner, that has performed all over the United States and all over the world.”

The racketeering charges are not connected to the felony murder charges Bennett received at the top of the year. In this case, the rapper was charged in connection with the December 10 shooting death of 28-year-old James Adams. He was also accused of aggravated assault, participating in criminal street gang activity, and more in relation to Adams’ death. He surrendered to police in mid-January and was released nearly a month later on $500,000 bond.

YFN Lucci is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Snapchat Can Face Lawsuit By Families Of Teens Killed In Car Crash: Report

In 2017, three teen boys in Wisconsin were reportedly doing a bit of joyriding. Reports state that they were reaching speeds upwards of 123 miles per hour, and as the driver pushed the car to go faster, a passenger opened the Snapchat app to record the speed. At the time, Snapchat had a filter that captured speeds in real-time, and NPR reports that the teens raced down a “long, cornfield-lined road” with the hopes of their video going viral.

Instead, the 17-year-old in the driver’s seat lost control of the vehicle and the car crashed into a tree killing all three. The families of the victims have been battling it out in court with Snapchat because they believe that the app should be held partially responsible for the teens’ deaths. The parents sued Snap, Inc., alleging that the filter encouraged people to engage in reckless behaviors.

Tech companies have been able to dodge lawsuits such as these under Section 230 of the Communication Decency Act that grants them immunity. Companies aren’t held responsible for what people post online that could cause them harm, but a three-judge panel ruled that Section 230 doesn’t apply because the case isn’t highlighting what was posted, but the design of the app and the filter, itself.

“Snap indisputably designed Snapchat’s reward system and Speed Filter and made those aspects of Snapchat available to users through the Internet,” Judge Kim McLane Wardlaw reportedly stated. “This type of claim rests on the premise that manufacturers have a ‘duty to exercise due care in supplying products that do not present unreasonable risk of injury or harm to the public.'”

“It’s a triumphant day to see that an Internet company can be held responsible for products that are defectively designed,” said victims rights lawyer Carrie Goldberg. “The biggest hurdle in personal injury law is getting in front of a jury, and this could lead to that situation for multi-billion-dollar technology companies.”

Do you think Snapchat should be held partially responsible for the deaths of the teens?
