Freddie Gibbs Connects With Drake For A Photo Op

The next release from Freddie Gibbs is shaping up to be his best, at least from the list of producers he revealed that he’s been working with. Usual suspects like The Alchemist and Madlib have secured slots but others like Pharrell, Metro Boomin, Mike Will Made It, and more have also been confirmed for SSS.

The rapper has yet to tease any of the features on the project but we could probably suspect some Griselda cameos on the tracklist. However, Gibbs’ latest photo dump on Instagram has left fans hoping that he’ll be trading bars with the 6ix God himself. The rapper took to Instagram where he shared a photo of himself alongside Drake, presumably in Los Angeles somewhere. The caption only read, “Photo dump” along with a bunny and owl emoji but a few comments left underneath the picture might indicate a collab in the works. Gibbs’ right-hand man Diego, wrote, “6GOD X LORDS,” along with five star emojis. “Sounds about right,” he added. Meanwhile, Gibbs manager Lambo wrote, “BIG BOSS OWL.”

Mind you, none of this actually confirms that they’ve locked in the studio but it seems inevitable at this point. Gibbs has previously been seen clubbing with OVO affiliate Baka in the past. Freddie Gibbs has previously listed Drake among his top 5 MCs in the game during a podcast with Bootleg Kev last year and has also mentioned in a separate that he wanted to go bar-for-bar with the Toronto rapper.

Beyoncé Once Told Victoria Beckham How Inspired She Was By The Spice Girls

It goes without saying that Beyoncé is the prototype for what it means to be a pop icon — music, fashion, film, philanthropy, art and activism are just some of the worlds where she wears the title of “Queen Bey.” However, there was a point when she was just a member in a burgeoning R&B quarter-turned-trio by the name of Destiny’s Child in the ’90s, a time period dominated by another female pop group: The Spice Girls.

Many who watched episode six of Selena: The Series may have peeped a pre-fame baby Bey meeting the late Tejano music icon during a chance encounter, but it was actually Victoria Beckham who let the world know how much Beyoncé was manifesting ‘Girl Power’ while on the come-up.

Speaking with the Breaking Beauty podcast via Dear Media, Posh Spice says of being a source of inspiration for the biggest pop star out, “I met Beyoncé a few years ago, and she actually said to me, ‘It was the Spice Girls that inspired me and made me want to do what I do and made me proud to be a girl and proud to be who I am.'” She followed up by stating her approval of the co-sign, further adding, “When someone like Beyoncé, who is so iconic and was such a strong woman, says that she was inspired by the Spice Girls, I think that’s quite something.”

Both The Spice Girls and Destiny’s Child garnered a handful of number one singles, landed a bunch of major brand endorsements, spearheaded questionable-yet-iconic ’90s fashions moments and ultimately created a lane for women in music that allowed for girl groups after them to prosper at even greater lengths. In short, it makes a lot of sense for The Spice Girls to be one of Beyoncé’s core influences.

Travis Scott & Kylie Jenner “Not Fully Back Together” Despite Birthday PDA

Let the rumors continue… according to multiple sources, Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner are not back together, despite videos showing them very publicly displaying their affection for one another during La Flame’s birthday weekend in Miami.

After Kylie Jenner was spotted in Miami for Travis Scott’s birthday party, fans speculated that Stormi’s parents had gotten back together. While Travis and Kylie have remained close during their split, co-parenting their three-year-old daughter, they have consistently shut down dating rumors every time the gossip makes its way to the news. This time was no different.

The former couple reportedly had dinner at Komodo before heading to LIV Miami, where Travis performed over the weekend. “They were very close and affectionate,” said an insider, according to PEOPLE. “They kept flirting and looked happy.” A second source added, “They definitely seemed to be together, without making a big deal of being together.”

Kylie was updating her social media pages throughout the night, posting one video that caught everyone’s attention where she sticks out her foot in Travis’ direction before the rapper proceeds to play around with her.

Despite the pair being pretty close, sources say they’re “not fully back together.” However, neither of them has publicly dated anybody else since they broke up so the door has always been open for a possible reconciliation. Do you think Travis and Kylie might get back together at some point?

Silento Requests $25K Bail Following Murder Charge

The artist of Billboard’s no. 3 2015 hit single “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” reemerged into the public spotlight in Februrary, but not for any musical reason. Silento shocked the public after news broke of him being charged for the murder of his cousin, Frederick Rooks. Now awaiting trial, he is focused on exercising his right for bail — starting at the low ball of $25,000.

In documents obtained by TMZ, Silento claims he will not flee if released on bail. He claims he is “not an extraordinary bail risk and will not jeopardize the safety of the community if released on bail.”

The 23-year-old rapper was arrested twice in 2020, once in September for threatening with a hatchet” in an incident involving his girlfriend where he was held on a bond of $250K. Around a month later, he was once again for reckless driving charges. As the murder charge is his third charge in less than a year, the possibility of being granted such a low bail seems unlikely for him.

Silento’s sudden spike in criminal activity can reportedly be attributed to mental health issues according to a statement by his publicist (read our piece on her statement here). The singer has been open and transparent about his problems, detailing his childhood in an interview on the CBS show The Doctors (watch above), stating “depression doesn’t leave you when you become famous, it just adds more pressure.”

The fate of the struggling singer will be determined at his bond hearing set to take place before the end of the month. Stay tuned to HNHH for updates.

Her biggest song to date has been “Beam,” which was released as part of her 2020 project It’s Just Music. Trey Songz Sued For Alleged Bartender Beatdown: Report

Trey Songz just dodged charges related to the alleged assault on a police officer at a Chiefs game but he’s facing a new lawsuit stemming from an alleged assault on a venue’s bar staff. According to TMZ, a man is suing Trey Songs for allegedly punching him in the head at the Hollywood Palladium before casually returning his focus back to the concert.

The lawsuit claims that the man was serving as the bartender around midnight when Trey Songz began hanging around the area. The bartender says Trey Songz jumped on top of the bar where he was watching his show. The problem is that it’s against the venue’s policy. The lawsuit claims the bartender told Trey that it was in violation of their policies but the singer allegedly ignored the call. The bartender said he eventually put his hands on Trey Songz’s back to get his attention when he was met with a punch to the head. Trey Songz allegedly gave the man a blank look before he continued to watch the concert.

TMZ reports that Trey Songz was confirmed to have been at the Hollywood Palladium on the night Cardi B was hosting an event in collaboration with Fashion Nova. The bartender is suing Trey Songz for physical, emotional, and psychological.

We’ll keep you posted on any more updates surrounding the lawsuit.

50 Cent Announces He’s Moved To Houston

50 Cent has officially packed his bags and moved from New York to Houston. The rap legend/television producer announced the move on social media, telling fans that he’ll miss the Big Apple but that he’ll explain his move at a later date.

“I Love NY, but i live in Houston now i’ll explain later,” he wrote as his caption on Instagram, posing with a Houston Astros cap on his head.

Back in March, Fiddy expressed an interest in moving to Texas, supporting Gov. Greg Abbott’s decision to lift the mask mandate and opening businesses fully. “I’m headed to Texas f*ck this,” he said. It turns out that he was completely serious because, just a few months later and he’s calling Houston his home.

In the midst of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election, Fif also claimed that he would leave the country if Joe Biden was elected. Clearly, he’s changed his mind on that. The reasoning for his would-be departure from the country was based on Biden’s proposed tax plan, which raised rates for the ultra-wealthy. “WHAT THE F*CK! (VOTE ForTRUMP) IM OUT,” he wrote in October.

Are you surprised that 50 Cent was serious about moving to Texas? Check out his latest post below and be on the lookout for him on your next trip to Houston.

TDE’s Punch Has The Ultimate Sports Hot Take: “Steph [Curry] Is Better Than Jordan”

There’s a lot that Terrence Louis Henderson Jr. — you may know him better as the TDE exec that goes by ‘Punch’ — knows when it comes to music, particularly hip-hop. However, we’re not too sure the big homie is thinking too straight when it comes to the politics of basketball commentary. Case in point? He literally just claimed that Steph Curry is better than the Michael Jordan.

Save your debates for the comment section, but read along!

TDE Punch Sports Hot Take Steph Curry Better Michael Jordan
Image: Sean Gardner/Getty Images

Now granted, Curry put up amazing performance stats last night (May 4) in spite of his Warriors losing against the New Orleans Pelicans (seen above) in a close 103 – 108 defeat. Despite the loss, Steph made history yet again by becoming the fastest player in the history of NBA to make 300 three-pointers in a  single season.

According to CBS Sports, it took Curry only 58 games to hit the 300 mark, which he did during last night’s game that we’re sure Punch was watching and might’ve influenced his aforementioned scorching hot take. That game also saw Curry join Ray Allen as the only player in NBA history to hit 2,800 career three-pointers. Allen’s record stands at 2,973, but at this rate Curry will surpass that in no time. Now back to Curry being better than Jordan.

In the history of, well, history, there have been many bold enough to claim almost anyone who shows greater-than-average talent on the court as “The Next Michael Jordan.” Granted, LeBron is otherworldly, and Kobe was every bit of the legend people make him out to be, but there will never be anyone who commands the court and has superseded the game of basketball on all levels quite like His Airness. Granted, that sounds like a hot take in itself, but maybe it’s just something we can all take a stance on and argue it out about.

Sound off with your thoughts below and let us know if you agree with Punch or not:

Czarface & MF DOOM’s New Album Drops This Week

MF DOOM’s passing still weighs heavy on his substantial fanbase, many of whom have taken solace in the stellar discography he left behind. Being among the game’s prolific emcees, it’s no surprise that DOOM put in work in the studio prior to his death, and today it has been confirmed that his first posthumous release is officially on the way.

The project in question, Czarface & MF DOOM: Super What? is another collaboration between DOOM and Czarface, the duo consisting of 7L & Esoteric and Wu-Tang lyricist Inspectah Deck. In March of 2018, the pair connected for their debut release Czarface Meets Metal Face, a masterclass in underground lyricism as expected. Two years later, their follow-up effort is on the way, with Esoteric opening up about the road to its release in an Instagram announcement post.

Czarface & MF DOOM: “Super What?” was recorded and slated to drop in April of 2020,” reads the post, which arrives alongside the comic-book-inspired cover. “When COVID-19 struck and the world stopped, we chose to pull it, focus on family, and fine-tune a few elements on it. What you’ll be hearing was finalized, mixed & mastered in the summer of 2020, and it’s our honor and privilege to share it with you Friday.”

“I speak for everyone involved when I say we were incredibly fortunate to have collaborated with DOOM,” continues Esoteric. “He was a one-of-a-kind, never-to-be-duplicated emcee, producer, and visionary. We wish peace and healing to his family, friends and everyone touched by the gifts he shared with the planet. MF DOOM FOREVER.”

Look for Super What? to arrive this coming Friday, May 7th. Interested parties can secure a physical copy at MF DOOM’s webstore, where the official tracklist is revealed as follows:
