Nipsey Hussle’s Estate Settles Their Lawsuit Against The Crips Over ‘The Marathon Continues’ Trademark

Nearly two years after the battle began, the lawsuit between the estate for the late Nipsey Hussle and The Crips over “The Marathon Continues” trademark has finally come to an end. According to a report from TMZ, the rapper’s brother Samuel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom informed a Los Angeles County court that a settlement was reached between the two parties. Documents obtained by TMZ reveal that while Nipsey’s estate and The Crips are still working on the final details of the lawsuit, the formal terms of the agreement will be submitted in the near future.

The issue began in May 2019 when Blacc Sam filed a request for “The Marathon Continues” trademark, only to find out that The Crips filed one almost two weeks before his attempt. Sam intended to use the slogan for a number of endeavors including “charitable activities, the doing of good deeds for others and the promotion of ethical and character values.”

More than a year later, Hussle’s estate would file a lawsuit against the corporate section of the gang over the trademark. Through it they sought compensation for damages and an order for The Crips to destroy and remove any merchandise that was made with the trademark.

Nipsey Hussle is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Blueface’s Artist Chrisean Rock Gets His Name Tattooed On Her Face

After surviving his Bad Girls Club-styled boot camp, Chrisean Rock is still riding for Blueface. The rapper faced several other women for the opportunity to work as one of Blueface’s artists and they’ve been carving out her space in the industry for months now. Chrisean is known for her carefree, and often unhinged personality, and recently, she shared with the world that she got Blueface’s government name, Johnthan Porter, tattooed on the side of her face.

Face tattoos are all the rage these days and while Blueface may not have an issue with people getting tattoos in his honor, he said he told Chrisean not to get this ink done. After the clip of her in the tattooist’s chair went viral, Blueface posted a video of his own where he films Chrisean and asks her about her latest stunt.

“Why’d you get that? Who told you to do that?” Blueface asks in the clip. Chrisean responds, “Me, myself, and I.” The two go back and forth about the tattoo before Chrisean tells the rapper that she doesn’t understand why it’s a big deal. Blueface lets her know that he has to live with the consequences of it but admitted that he isn’t too angry at her for getting the tattoo against his approval. Check out the clip below.

Casanova Thanks Bobby Shmurda For Support: “I’m Fighting For My Life”

He’s been in federal custody since the beginning of December and his social media posts since that time have suggested that Casanova’s friendship circle is dwindling. Prosecutors have accused the Brooklyn rapper of being involved with the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation and it’s alleged that the rapper was connected to drug-trafficking among other crimes. Casanova has repeatedly denied that allegations against him and both he and his wife Jasmere Corbett have come forward to call out the fairweather friends who have disappeared from sight.

Bobby Shmurda is all too familiar with the plight of legal issues and now that he’s been released from prison, he wanted to show love to a few artists who are now incarcerated. On his Instagram Story, Shmurda highlighted rappers like NBA YoungBoy and Casanova, and the mention didn’t go unnoticed by 2x.

“I APPRECIATE YOU @Shmurda [double exclamation mark emoji] I’M FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE IN A SYSTEM THAT’S FIXED… STAY SUCKA FREE IN A WORLD FULL OF LOLLIPOPS [fingers peace sign emoji][X emoji],” Casanova tweeted on Thursday (March 25). Last week, he gave The Breakfast Club a shout-out, as well. Casanova also recently stated that people who said that they were his friends but haven’t checked in on him can “suck a d*ck.” Check out his post below.

Peter Gunz Calls Out Derrick Jaxn For Condemning Him For Cheating On “LHHNY”

The scandal involving relationship coach Derrick Jaxn has been the talk of social media this week. Jaxn (pronounced “Jackson”) has been the topic of talk shows, media outlets, and a global audience after he and his wife shared that he’d carried on multiple affairs during their relationship. Much of the world had no idea who the “relationship guru” was before this controversy, but Peter Gunz and Rich Dollaz are all too familiar with Jaxn and his criticisms of Gunz’s cheating debacle on reality television.

For those of you who kept up with Love & Hip Hop New York, Peter Gunz solidified himself in reality television infamy years ago after telling Tara Wallace, the mother of his children and his longtime girlfriend, that he’d married his artist, singer Amina Buddafly. It all went down on VH1 and soon, there were seasons of Gunz going back and forth between the two women, and eventually they were both pregnant once again and welcoming more children into the blended family that includes six mothers and 10 kids.

Peter Gunz recalled the time Derrick Jaxn had a few not-so-nice things to say about him, and the rapper’s friend and co-star, Rich Dollaz, jumped in, as well. “I remember this n*gga @derrickjaxn had so much to say about me multiple videos talking sh*t… Ladies be careful whom you worship all that glitters ain’t gold… Don’t fall for the Jesus rebound either,” wrote Gunz.

Dollaz chimed in, “So hold up this the clown n*gga that was posting videos coming for u when the show was on ??” Peter confirmed it was Jaxn. An Instagram user told Gunz that “being a dog is a choice” and none of the controversies had to do with Jesus. He replied, “Tell him that he’s using Jesus I’m an atheist.”

The Game Advocates For Marriage: “Find Yo Wife & Delete IG”

Whether they’re Instagram models, video vixens, social media influencers, or just “baddies,” women have been attracting the attention of artists since the inception of music itself. Rappers, particularly, like to have the most beautiful woman on the block on their arm, and while there’s nothing wrong with that, The Game believes that his fellow musicians should look for something more. The Los Angeles emcee has often had models and actresses by his side, in real life and in his music videos, but he told the public that they should be more concerned with locking down Mrs. Right instead of Ms. Right Now.

“There are so many beautiful women in the world, especially these days,” penned the father of three on Twitter. “Even when you get you a ‘bad b!tch’ soon as you got her, you see another 1 you THINK is badder.. then you gotta have that one and repeat this process until you’ve lost em all one by one. Find yo wife & delete IG.”

For the most part, the advice was met with open arms, but some noted that it isn’t just about deleting social media apps and stated that people have to embrace loyalty and discipline. Check out the post and a few responses below, and let us know if you agree with The Game.

Stephen A. Smith Roasts James Dolan For Acting Like A Child

Stephen A. Smith is a legendary broadcaster and he is known for being a huge fan of the New York Knicks. Unfortunately, the Knicks haven’t given him much to cheer about over the last decade or so, but this year, there seems to be something fresh in the air. The Knicks are currently holding on to a playoff spot, and as it stands, the team looks like it is building a brand new culture that every fan should be excited and happy about.

The team is not without its problems, however, especially when it comes to owner James Dolan. Recently, Dolan had a fan escorted out of Madison Square Garden after wearing a “Ban Dolan” shirt to a game. Smith was angered by this and took to First Take today with some less than complimentary remarks for Dolan. In nicer terms, Smith claimed that Dolan is extremely immature.

“I’m so disgusted I don’t even know where to begin. … They have a grown man as an owner who’s a child,” Smith said. Smith has never had nice things to say about Dolan although this time around, Smith was particularly mad especially since the Knicks have been doing so well as of late. Smith made sure to make note of the strides the Knicks have made over the past few months, and he feels like all Dolan needs to do is just shut up.

These are sentiments that Knicks fans know all too well, and it only makes sense that it was Stephen A. who summed it all up so well.

OMB Peezy Isn’t Worried About Current Charges: “I Don’t Be Stressin’ Too Much”

There has been an increase in rappers who have had run-ins with the law. Most recently, NBA YoungBoy reportedly attempted to run from federal authorities, Casanova remains incarcerated on allegations that he’s a drug-trafficking gang member, Silento is accused of murdering his cousin, DaBaby was detained in Beverly Hills for carrying a loaded firearm—and that’s just this year. OMB Peezy also found himself in handcuffs after being arrested in connection with the shooting on the set of Roddy Ricch and 42 Dugg‘s music video. He recently spoke about his charges and is certain that he’ll beat the case.

“I’mma soldier. I’m alright. I know God got me,” said the rapper while on VladTV. “I know God ain’t gon’ bring me to it if ain’t gon’ bring me through it. I don’t really be stressin’ too much.” He added, “I ain’t gon’ lie and act like a n*gga just…like I don’t be gettin’ into my thoughts and sh*t. ‘Cause I sho’ be gettin’ in my thoughts like damn, they can watch a n*gga if they want to, but I don’t really let it beat me up too much though.”

Vlad mentioned that Lil Durk is still facing his charges and has channeled his energy into making the best music of his career. He suggested that Peezy do the same, but the rapper stated he doesn’t need charges to pen hits. “I make good music without this sh*t,” said Peezy. “It’s just, the world we in, it’s so f*cked up.  Like, certain sh*t make them pay attention to the sh*t you say, if that makes sense.”

“Now, they’re actually paying attention to what I’m sayin’ in my music. Because he’s received negative press about the charges, people are now interested in who he is because of the potential infamy attached, and it’s something that OMB Peezy isn’t a fan of. Check out his clip below.

LeBron James’ Recovery Timeline Receives An Update

When LeBron James suffered an ankle injury last Saturday, Lakers Nation held their collective breaths as they were hoping that LeBron’s injury wasn’t the worst. In the end, LeBron found himself with an ankle sprain which is never easy to recover from, especially if you are 36 years old. Regardless, LeBron is someone who takes good care of his body, and if fans had to guess, he would probably be back sooner rather than later.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, LeBron’s recovery timeline has been set between four to six weeks which is about the average when you think about ankle problems. This is not good news for the Lakers, however, as they will now have to spend over a month of basketball without their leader, which could lead to some issues in the standings.

Regardless, the Lakers are virtually a lock to make the playoffs this season which means the Lakers probably won’t feel it necessary to rush LeBron back onto the court. You never want to put your superstar into a vulnerable position, and at this point, the Lakers have enough of a cushion that they don’t need to panic.

As the weeks go by, more LeBron updates will be given so be sure to keep it locked to HNHH for all of the latest news and updates.
