Roddy Rackzz Preaches Perseverance In His ‘Head Up’ Performance On ‘UPROXX Sessions’

Today’s episode of UPROXX Sessions features another LA transplant, the Baltimore-born Def Jam rapper Roddy Rackzz, who gives a melodic performance of his trenches-to-penthouse anthem “Head Up.” Appearing in a red Supreme motocross vest and crooning over his Deeboy/JishBeatz-produced, guitar-looping track, Roddy makes a case for perseverance and determination in the face of adversity.

Roddy’s wardrobe choice isn’t just a fanciful affectation. He’s also an actual rider, who has shot commercials for Reebok and showing his dirt bike skills in the official video for “Head Up”… which I suppose would be a bit like Dame D.O.L.L.A. coming through to perform rocking his Portland Trail Blazers jersey. Among Roddy’s most popular tracks are the wistful trap banger “Never Enough” from his 2020 debut mixtape F*ck Rap and the money-hungry “Addict” featuring the DMV’s own Shy Glizzy.

Watch Roddy Rackzz’s “Head Up” performance above.

UPROXX Sessions is Uproxx’s performance show featuring the hottest up-and-coming acts you should keep an eye on. Featuring creative direction from LA promotion collective, Ham On Everything, and taking place on our “bathroom” set designed and painted by Julian Gross, UPROXX Sessions is a showcase of some of our favorite performers, who just might soon be yours, too.

PJ Tucker Steals The Show At Bucks Parade After Drinking A Bit Too Much

Tuesday night was a magical one for the city of Milwaukee as the Bucks won their first championship in 50 years. The team was carried by the likes of Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, all while players like Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton were praised for their supporting efforts. When you look at the Bucks roster, you will immediately find some defensive aces on the squad, including the likes of journeyman PJ Tucker who has been through a lot during his career.

After starting the season on a dysfunctional Houston Rockets squad, Tucker was traded to the Bucks where he flourished on both sides of the ball. In the playoffs, Tucker gave opposing teams an incredibly difficult time and in the NBA Finals, he proceeded to play some of his best basketball of the year. Having said that, it shouldn’t be a surprise that he celebrated with all of his heart during the parade today.

In fact, Tucker went viral throughout the afternoon thanks to the excessive amount of champagne and beer he was drinking. Tucker was feeling the vibes and energy from the crowd, which ultimately made for a wonderful sight. Once the Bucks made their way to the championship stage, Tucker made an impassioned speech, all while drowning himself in more champagne which received an ovation from Bucks fans.

While some might say Tucker was having too much fun, there is no denying that he has earned this. After coming so close in the past, there is no doubt that this championship is the highlight of his career.

Safaree Samuels Gives Iggy Azalea Parenting Advice After Haters Bully Her Son

Iggy Azalea has faced the wrath of the internet many times in her career, but she’s learned in the last year that trolls on social media will often stoop to disturbingly low levels. When she shared a cute picture of her son Onyx in a dinosaur costume, a lowlife hater responded by essentially cyberbullying a one-year-old child, clowning his outfit, and asking where his father Playboi Carti is so he could dress him in all designer. Iggy was understandably triggered by the post, responding with multiple tweets.

“Imagine being so miserable that you bully a one year old child for picking his own outfit,” she tweeted. “Y’all so corny and bored and it’s really a damn shame. Just disgusting. My child is not a sub-brand for his fathers fans to obsess over or clown on because the reality is that y’all don’t like his mom so you think it’s cute to be rude about a baby and what funny stuff he wears. Know that I will smack you in person, and so will his dad.”

When somebody responded to her and said that it wasn’t “that deep,” Iggy invited them to keep that same energy if they catch her in person. “Come say that shit in real life and find out that it is,” she said. “I don’t play about my baby. At ALLLLLLL. And please do know he has a closet full of sneakers and more designer than their broke down can I borrow your jeans bro? Dirty carpet, going hungry all month cause you couldn’t afford that anyway, slow wifi having asses will ever have. My son is creative & full of confidence.”

Safaree Samuels, who is far from Father of the Year, decided to give Iggy some parenting advice when he caught the posts, telling her, “Don’t post him. We live in a sick sad world. Where innocent kids are tainted with evil eyes.”

What do you think of Safaree’s advice, and of Iggy’s responses?

Lil Tecca Announces “We Love You Tecca 2”

Lil Tecca has been quiet for a minute since the release of the single “Never Left” in May, but the rapper returned to social media last week to share “Money On Me” is set to release on Friday, July 23. The song comes as the first single from his upcoming album, which Tecca also announced in the caption.

This is the New York rapper’s first project since his 2020 album Virgo Worldthat lacked the same precision of 2019’s We Love You Tecca. We Love You Tecca included hits “Ransom” and “Love Me” that put him on the mainstream radar.

Stay tuned for more updates on the album and everything else Lil Tecca is up to.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Trolls His Haters With Hilarious Parade Gesture

Giannis Antetokounmpo made a big gamble less than a year ago when he decided to sign a Supermax deal with the Milwaukee Bucks. The contract made him the highest-paid player in the league although it didn’t exactly guarantee him a championship. There were various question marks surrounding whether or not this team could get it done, and some fans weren’t sure if Jrue Holiday was enough to get this team over the hump.

After finishing third in the Eastern Conference standings, the Bucks showed everyone what they are made of and made it all the way to the NBA Finals where they defeated the Phoenix Suns in just six games. Giannis scored 50 points in the closeout game and it was enough to win him Finals MVP.

Throughout the postseason, Giannis was roasted and teased by fans for just how long it would take him before taking a free throw. Brooklyn Nets fans were notoriously counting down his free throw shots and it is something that followed him throughout the rest of the postseason. In the end, Giannis had the last laugh as today, during the Bucks parade in Milwaukee, Giannis trolled the crowd with one of his lengthy free throw shots.

In the clip below, you can see Giannis motion to throw a basketball into the crowd. Instead of shooting the ball right away, Giannis froze in position for 10 seconds which got a hearty laugh from the crowd. You can tell his teammates loved it as well and overall, it’s one of the reasons why Giannis is so likable.

We’re sure this entire championship run is one that Bucks fans will never forget.

Kid Cudi Responds To A Fan Asking If He’s On Kanye West’s “DONDA”

If you were hoping for a Kids See Ghosts reunion this week, you’re unfortunately going to need to wait a little longer. Kid Cudi revealed that he will not be featured on Kanye West’s upcoming new album DONDA, which is set to release tonight.

Fans have been speculating about the new album’s tracklist after it was teased last night when Kanye posted a picture with Playboi Carti in the studio, which featured a whiteboard with the tracklist in plain view. With a Carti feature all but confirmed, and other features including Chris Brown, Future, Baby Keem, Travis Scott, and others rumored, diehard Yeezy stans were curious to find out whether ‘Ye’s close friend Kid Cudi would be included on the album, but it looks like that won’t be the case.

Five Years Ago, Gucci Mane & Young Thug Reunited On “Guwop Home”

In 2021, long gone are the days where #FreeGuwop would regularly trend on Twitter. The once-incarcerated Atlanta artist has kept all legal drama at bay over the past 5 years, and now he is mentoring a new generation of successful artists, including Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, Big Scarr, and Hotboy Wes. The fact that Gucci was released from prison just 5 years ago is inspiring and absolutely mind-blowing, and there’s no better way to commemorate Guwop’s post-prison journey than with the album that (re)started it all.

Five years ago today, Gucci Mane released Everybody Looking, a 15-track album that served as the Atlanta veteran’s first full-length release since being released from prison in May 2016, and the project featured guest appearances from Drake, Kanye West, and Young Thug as well as plenty of production from Mike Will Made-It and Zaytoven.

No collaboration on Everybody Looking was as celebratory or organic, however, as Gucci Mane’s long-awaited reunion with Young Thug. Even though Thug’s style had gotten increasingly experimental since Gucci had gone to prison, the chemistry of their mentor-mentee relationship made it sound like they hadn’t missed a step on “Guwop Home.”

Revisit Gucci Mane’s Everybody Looking here, and scroll down to watch the lavish music video for “Guwop Home.”

Quotable Lyrics

Run it up to the top
Get out and ran it back to the top
Flood your ear, your neck, your wrist, your fingers
And put it all on rocks
Say Guwop home and yeah it’s official, grab some tissues
What’s wrong with you?

Air Jordan 1 “Atmosphere” Pays Homage To MJ’s Bubblegum Obsession

Michael Jordan’s sneaker legacy began with the Air Jordan 1 and over the years, Jumpman has brought out dozens upon dozens of fantastic colorways. At this point, it seems highly unlikely that the Jordan 1 would ever go away, and this is something that should be celebrated. It is one of the best shoes on the planet and it can pretty well be worn with anything. Even in 2021, this silhouette is in style and as a result, Jordan Brand has some dope releases planned for the Fall and even the Holiday season.

One of the latest models to be shown off comes from @zsneakerheadz in the form of the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Atmosphere” which is a women’s exclusive. According to the post below, this shoe is meant to be an homage to MJ’s love of bubblegum which he could always be seen chewing on the sidelines. The color scheme matches this love as we see pink patent leather on the toe box, back heel, and even the outsole. The rest of the shoe has a white base with black overlays, and overall, it’s an eye-popping look.

The rumored release date for these has been set to December 22nd of this year although this is still subject to change. Let us know what you think of this new colorway, in the comments and poll below. Also, stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates from the sneaker world.
