Bobby Shmurda Finds His Knicks Cap After 7 Years

New York rapper Bobby Shmurda has been keeping his fans updated ever since he was released from prison this year, marking a celebratory moment in the hip-hop world. Heralded as a real one for taking extra time on his own sentence to have Rowdy Rebel’s sentence lightened, Bobby’s return home has been sweet for supporters of the GS9 crew to keep track of.

Known for his hit songs “Hot N***a” and “Bobby B*tch”, Bobby Shmurda is arguably most famous for the viral music video that accompanied the former record. The low-budget video, which was filmed in the streets of New York City, features one famous scene where Bobby tosses his New York Knicks cap up in the air, never catching it before it disappears from the frame altogether. For the entire length of his sentence, Bobby’s fans have joked about the whereabouts of the hat, and finally, it has made a return.

Likely a little dustier seven years later, Bobby is back with his classic Knicks cap, showing it off on Instagram Live. “They don’t wanna see that! The hat is back,” exclaimed the rapper’s friends as he walked out with it. “They know where we from,” yelled Bobby repeatedly in the video.

After so many jokes were made at the hat’s expense, it’s nice to see that, 1. Bobby still owns the hat and, 2. it’s still in pretty good condition!

How much do you think this hat would go for if he ever sold it?

Kodak Black Says Megan Thee Stallion Made A Career Off Stealing From Him

Kodak Black is tired of waiting for people to acknowledge his influence on the rap game. The 23-year-old Florida rapper wants his credit and he wants it now. Lately, he’s been embroiled in a short-lived internet feud with buzzing Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty, re-focusing and aiming his ire at Grammy-winning artist Megan Thee Stallion and saying that she capitalized off jacking one of his catchphrases.

For months, Kodak Black has been claiming that Megan’s “drive the boat” phrase originates from him, which fans have largely agreed with. When asked about the term on national television though, Megan refused to give credit to Kodak, saying that she came up with the sentence herself. “I Really Wanna Go Bad On Lil One but I’m Keepin This Sh*t Pretty #LetMeDriveTheBoat,” he wrote a year ago while he was still incarcerated. After Megan went an entire year without showing love to him, Yak is frustrated and he’s coming for the superstar on Twitter, letting off some steam on Tuesday night.

“‘You Know What, Ima Pull Up On Jit Wit Bout 200 Bands Or Sumn Since I Raned Off Wit Da Man Quote Got Rich Off It & Ain’t Mention Em Nan Time,'” wrote Kodak on Twitter, seemingly suggesting what Megan should have done after Yak caught on. “Who Shoulda Said Dat Twitter?”

He went on, saying that Megan made her entire career off the phrase. “I’m Lit I Ain’t Old & Washed Up Somewhere Hating On Young N***as I’m Jus Over Here Counting This Money But Still Pointing Dat Sh*t Out Y’all B On D*ck!!! Make a whole career off of taking one Lil piece of my sh*t & I B Coming For My Money. Baby ain’t have to go out her way to give my credit but the opportunity came to her instead when they asked that question on tv smh and they be on some Black Lives Matter sh*t y’all don’t even be fa this sh*t fr. Especially Since He Just Getting Outta Prison And Black Lives Matter So Let Me Pay A Lil Homage To Dude Throw It Back On Em Or Sumn. Or You Know What Ima Just Let Him Drive My Boat & Call It Even.”

Well, Kodak has named his price. Either he gets a $200,000 bag for supposedly kicking off Megan’s career (in his opinion) or he gets a ride on the boat with her…

What do you make of this feud?

Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion Accused Of Glorifying Prostitution With “WAP” Grammy Performance

The Grammy Award ceremony has been long criticized for its often racy performances and this year, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” rendition on their large bed of a stage has given some circles pause. Following the 63rd Grammy Awards, The National Center on Sexual Exploitation spoke on catching Cardi and Megan’s display by issuing a formal statement where they accused the Grammys of contributing “to the sexual exploitation of women by glamorizing prostitution and stripping.”

According to The Wrap, the organization specifically mentioned the two rappers, saying that their performance looked to be “cut from a hardcore pornography film.” Dawn Hawkins, the Senior Vice President and Executive Director of the group penned the statement, adding that “despite the ‘popularity‘” of “WAP,” the Grammys shouldn’t have allowed it to air on CBS.

“Prostitution and stripping are never empowering for women, as they set up systems that exploit and oppress women,” the statement reportedly reads. “CBS has contributed to furthering the sexual exploitation of women and contributed to the ‘normalization’ of porn culture.” This isn’t the first time that Cardi and Meg have found themselves on the receiving end of backlash over their No. 1 hit. Immediately after “WAP” hit streaming services last year, conservative political figures and commentators condemned the pair for the song’s explicit lyrics.

Pardison Fontaine Jokes With Megan Thee Stallion About Viral Moment: “Pardi, Don’t Start”

It was a moment that had Megan Thee Stallion’s fans hurling insults and accusations at Pardison Fontaine, but now both artists are able to laugh about it. While celebrating her birthday with her friends last month, an Instagram Live moment went viral after Pardison is heard yelling while Megan is in another room. He told them they had five seconds before he was coming in and seemed upset, and soon, the internet lit up with allegations and strangers sharing their opinions about Megan and Pardi’s budding relationship.

Megan Thee Stallion came forward to defend Fontaine as she sang his praises and it didn’t take long for everyone to brush the incident under the rug as the couple returned to fawning over one another. Proving that a little viral backlash isn’t something that can keep him down, Pardison teased Megan in a video that hosted a similar scenario.

In the clip, Megan looks to be in another room while Pardison smiles and says, “Tell Megan to come to the door.” Viewers can hear Meg on the other side say, “Oh, Pardi, don’t start.” Instead, he continues, “Right now!” Everyone starts to laugh as Fontaine attempts to continue, but even he contain himself

“You crazy!” said Megan. Check out the clip below.

Chika Shares A Look At How Nike Custom-Made Her Pastel 2021 Grammys Outfit

This year was Chika‘s first time being nominated for a Grammy. She was up for Best New Artist, meaning she turned up to the awards show in style. She was dressed head-to-toe in a pastel Nike sweatsuit, complete with a trench coat and matching mask. After fans swooned over her outfit, the rapper shared a closer look at how Nike custom-made her clothes.

Detailing the process in a series of tweets, Chika shared a few mock-up images the designer had sketched for her. The trench coat was also made of sweatshirt material and was hand tie-dyed alongside the other pieces. “Nike LA & @iCONtips made a 1 of 1 track suit and hand dyed coat for me with colors i picked, i found the perfect bag, and we pulled this all off over iMessage convos,” she explained. “and made the custom mask less than a day before the show. they went the hell off.”

While she didn’t end up winning the Best New Artist nod, Chika did put her own spin on a cover of a previous Best New Artist’s track. Ahead of her appearance at the awards show, she took on Billie Eilish’s 2020 track “My Future” for Spotify, infusing it with her own style. About the cover, Chika said: “I picked ‘My Future’ by Billie Eilish as my [Best New Artist] cover for Spotify because the song is beautiful and presents an interesting opportunity to talk about where I am as an artist, especially on the heels of this nomination. My present is moving so fast that each passing moment is practically the future already. And I’m in love with the ride I’m on.”
