Future certainly deserves his credit as well with numerous massively popular singles such as “Move That Dope,” “Fuck Up Some Commas,” “Where Ya At,” and more.

Jadakiss Celebrates 20th Anniversary Of “Kiss Tha Game Goodbye”

The most recent iteration of Verzuz proved to be an exercise in reminding fans of the hits that have carried The LOX and Dipset throughout the years. While the spar was a bout of friendly competition, fans weighed heavily in the former’s favor when it came to catalog comparisons.

The proof is found heavily in the fact that Jadakiss, in particular, experienced a reported 200% increase in music sales following the battle. Coincidentally, the new wave crashes into the 20th anniversary of the Yonkers legend’s Kiss Tha Game Goodbye solo debut.

With a new upload to Instagram, he commemorated the milestone with a simple message thanking fans for their support over the years.

The effort, which arrived in 2001, placed the emcee firmly into New York hip-hop’s elite and gave fans a boatload of bangers to match. It notably debuted at No. 5 on the charts and landed Jadakiss a Gold plaque. Its impact was brought back to the forefront with the most recent Verzuz showing with the likes of Lebron James cosigning the reminder.

“JADAKISS is the most UNDERRATED hip-hop artist of ALL-TIME., “MY GOODNESS,” James penned following the battle before adding that The Lox as a unit were “3 bullies.”

Rockies Investigating After Fan Screams N-Word At Lewis Brinson During At-Bat

The Colorado Rockies are investigating after a fan used a racial slur while Miami Marlins outfielder Lewis Brinson, a Black player, was at-bat, Sunday night. The microphones for the television broadcast captured the patron shouting the N-word over and over while Brinson was set to hit in the ninth inning.

“The Colorado Rockies are disgusted at the racial slur by a fan directed at the Marlins’ Lewis Brinson during the ninth inning of today’s game. Although the subject was not identified prior to the end of the game, the Rockies are still investigating this incident,” the team said in a statement after the game. “The Rockies have zero tolerance for any form of racism or discrimination, and any fan using derogatory language of any kind will be ejected and banned from Coors Field.”

TMZ noticed that the MLB App is not allowing fans to rewatch the game, likely to censure out the incident.

Marlins play by play announcer Paul Severino said he was “disgusted” by the language after the game on Twitter.

Brinson finished the game 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs. The Rockies went on to win Rockies’ 13-8.

Lil Durk Gets Roasted Online After Throwing Out First Pitch At Cubs’ Game

The Chicago Cubs welcomed hometown rapper Lil Durk to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at their game against their intracity rival, Chicago White Socks, Sunday night. The pitch was roasted by fans online after Durk missed home plate.

“The love I receive is undeniable fr,” Durk, who recently announced he would no longer be name-dropping the dead, wrote on Twitter after throwing out the pitch.

The stadium may have shown love, but fans online were, at time, ruthless.

“He can slide for first base but he can’t even slide for Von,” one fan responded to the throw.

Another wrote: “It blows my mind how many people can’t throw a ball. Wtf did y’all do as kids?”

Despite professionals making it look easy, first pitches have been historically difficult for celebrities. Some fans were quick to compare Durk’s throw to 50 Cent’s infamous whiff back in 2014, which is widely considered to be one of the worst of all time.

“50 Cent has entered the chat,” one user on Twitter joked after seeing Durk’s throw.

Lil Durk Nearly Pulled A 50 Cent With His First Pitch At White Sox-Cubs

Being invited to throw out the first pitch before an MLB game is a cool honor, but it also can be a nerve-wracking experience if you don’t have a lot of baseball experience. It seems simple enough: throw the ball 55 or so feet from in front of the mound and get it over the plate, but those that haven’t thrown a ball in awhile come to learn the hard way that it’s very different from their few warmup tosses in the tunnel before going out there.

Really bad first pitches aren’t just embarrassing, but can become a lasting part of someone’s legacy. 50 Cent is the best example of that and still has the first pitch to which all bad first pitches are compared to, as he fired a ball a good 20 feet wide of the plate. He’s far from the only star of the sports or entertainment world to have a dreadful first pitch experience, but his is the lasting example of a disaster.

On Sunday, we got another entry into the bad first pitch category from a rapper, as Lil Durk threw out the first pitch at Wrigley Field before Cubs-White Sox and had the poor Cubs mascot diving in vain for a ball that bounced outside the batter’s box.

The good news for Lil Durk is that he’s focusing on the positives of the love he got, not the jokes from Twitter.

It’s not quite 50 Cent, who barely threw it into the dirt area around home plate, but it is a pretty terrible effort. I’m sure Lil Durk hasn’t exactly spent a lot of time throwing baseballs recently, but it should serve as a reminder to managers everywhere that if your client isn’t someone that throws a ball often, there’s no shame in turning down a first pitch opp to keep them from going viral.

“Annette” Director Says Rihanna Almost Starred Opposite Adam Driver

Rihanna was supposed to star opposite a puppet in Annette, the new film starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard, according to the movie’s director. Leos Carax told USA Today in an interview following the release of Annette that he had specifically written the role for her.

“It was a small part written specifically for her,” Carax said. “She was supposed to play Rihanna.”

The Fenty Beauty business mogul was planned to sing for a duet later in the movie: “When Baby Annette becomes famous, there was a duet between the puppet and Rihanna. But then Rihanna feels upstaged by this baby.”

Early in the casting process, it was reported that Rihanna had signed on to perform, but shortly after her reps stated that she was no longer involved.

Carax said it was better to scrap the scene rather than to recast the Anti singer.

Appearing in Annette would’ve been yet another business move for Rihanna, who recently achieved billionaire status according to Forbes.

“I can talk to people now,” he began. “I like smiles.”

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst spoke about the incident afterward saying that the behavior is “very unacceptable and certainly doesn’t live up to the standards and values of the Green Bay Packers.”
