Lil Baby And Lil Durk Promote Their Promised Joint Album

Rappers are always promising joint albums — or just feeding existing rumors about them based on fan speculation — but Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s proposed collaborative tape appears to be more real than ever after both principals spent the weekend hyping its eventual release on social media. While Lil Durk tweeted about the album and posted on Instagram, Lil Baby was busy avoiding Twitter, so he instead shared his thoughts via Instagram Story.

“Aye y’all tell @lilbaby4PF let’s drop that tape,” Durk tweeted. “Streets need this.” He followed up with a post on Instagram promising fans that the two rappers would drop the tape provided the post received 100,000 comments.

Meanwhile, Lil Baby first shared a screenshot of a fan account’s post to his Story, adding the text, “Aye y’all, tell @LilDurk let’s drop the tape.” Then, after Durk posted about it on Instagram, Baby shared the post to his Story, wondering, “Bra, why the hell you playing?”

The clamor for their crossover has reached a fever pitch mainly because the duo’s last collaboration, “Finesse Out The Gang Way,” was well-received by fans of both artists. The newly resurgent Durk has been on a roll for the past two years, just as Lil Baby emerged as a force himself. As both rappers climb into the upper tier of rap stardom, it’s only natural that fans would want to see them work together — especially considering their chemistry on tracks like “Finesse” and “3 Headed Goat.” Plus, Baby has proven he can bring the best out of a collaborator on 2018’s Drip Harder with Gunna, so giving Durk the same foil may result in some spectacular contemporary rap.

Will they actually drop a full project? Who knows, but maybe Durk can give Baby some pointers on his jump shot after Saturday’s disastrous showing at the B/R Open Run two-on-two game with Jack Harlow and Quavo.

IDK Takes Advantage Of Pooh Shiesty’s Hit For His Devastating ‘Back In Blood (Freestyle)’

Although IDK had a strong showing in 2020, the PG County-bred rapper has spent the last few months laying low until very recently, when he released the single “2 Cents” to break the relative silence since October’s “King Alfred.” It seems his warm-up period is going to continue for a bit, as he shares another new video, this time for a freestyle over the hit Pooh Shiesty song, “Back In Blood.”

On the original, Pooh Shiesty and Lil Durk recount tales of revenge. As IDK is a bit further removed from the troublemaking days he recalled on his breakout mixtape IWASVERYBAD, his freestyle focuses instead on the best kind of revenge: success. “I bought a chain and a crib in a pandemic,” he boasts. “Got a AMG and not a Panamera / Got a twin turbo in the hood like I’m in the trenches with Tia and Tamera.” It’s clear he’s sharpening his knives for whatever he’s cooking up to release in 2021, building on the growing success of his last year.

IDK’s solid 2020 included the release of his compilation album IDK & Friends 2, which doubled as the soundtrack to the Kevin Durant-produced basketball documentary Basketball County: Something In The Water, as well as making his television debut with the outspoken “No Cable” on The Late Show.

Meanwhile, the “Back In Blood (Freestyle)” video was also accompanied by IDK’s cover of Brent Faiyz’s song “Gravity” which originally featured Tyler The Creator. You can listen to that below.

Drake “What’s Next” Producer Supah Mario Thought It Wouldn’t Be Released

It was an eventful weekend for many as the All-Star Games took place but just before the festivities took place, Drizzy made sure to have some new music in rotation across the world. He arrived with the sequel to Scary Hours. The first one arrived as a quick two-song pack to holds fans over until the release of Scorpion while Scary Hours 2 is meant to hold us over until Drake decides to drop Certified Lover Boy which is rumored to drop in April.

“What’s Next” appears to be the massive single from Scary Hours with the song expected to debut atop the Billboard Hot 100. The hard-hitting banger sounds like something that would be produced by Pi’erre Bourne but it was Supah Mario who cooked it up with Playboi Carti in mind. “It was like a Carti style beat and I knew Drake was working on shit with Carti,” he said during a recent interview with RapCaviar. “I sent it to him and luckily, he hit me back and was like, ‘Yo I wanna fuck with this.'”

Mario explained that he didn’t even think that this would end up getting released and ultimately, end up in the stash somewhere. “He hit me back a few days later and was like, ‘Yo, send me the stems for this. I’m actually keeping this for my project.’” Mario added that the two of them are always working on something and that he’s constantly sending beats to Drake on a weekly basis.

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Mono Pack” Slated For The Summer: First Look

Kanye West’s Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 has easily been one of the most important shoes of the last decade. Since 2016, this silhouette has received a plethora of great colorways and while it is no longer as scarce as it once was, it remains one of those shoes that will always be a huge part of any sneakerhead’s rotation. Throughout 2021, this model is expected to receive a ton of new offerings, and according to Yeezy Mafia, the Summer is going to be an especially great time for the shoe.

As you can see in the post below, the 350 V2 will be receiving a four-colorway “Mono Pack.” The offerings here are called “Mono Mist,” “Mono Ice,” “Mono Cinder,” and “Mono Clay.” The cinder version is black, the clay model is orange, mist is brown, and ice is blue. Kodak Black Responds To Pooh Shiesty

Just last week, rising Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty was singing Kodak Black’s praises, including the superstar in his list of favorite rappers during an interview with HotNewHipHop for our new Rise & Grind series. It only took a few days for the “Back In Blood” artist to “lose all respect” for the recently-released Kodak, calling him out on social media on Monday.

In a since-deleted post, Pooh Shiesty called Kodak “lame” and said that he lost all respect for the rapper after he posted a video checking Lil Baby for rapping that he started the money-spreading trend on Instagram. Things quickly unraveled when Kodak got wind of Pooh’s diss, mocking him on Instagram Live and seemingly claiming to have started his “blrrd” ad-lib.

Kodak filmed his friends yelling out “blrrd” before chiming in, saying, “That ‘blrrd’ sh*t really be mine. We run over sh*t! Keep that sh*t cute, don’t make it all that, bro.”

Pooh seemingly wasn’t satisfied with Kodak’s response because he proceeded to take credit for the money-spreading craze, posting pictures of himself that date back to 2011.

“The INTERNET AND FANS will make a real n***a do some hoe sh*t,” said Pooh. “Influence?????? u wasn’t rappin when I was out here taking action!!!!!!!! I just like yo music thought u was on my same time boy u was rapping that sh*t I was really living before I ever made a song, this internet don’t know sh*t bout me, if anything @chieffkeeffsossa get credit n***a don’t play with me I’m wrong young n***a we can hit bout fr all that talking n***a gangstas keep they phone down.”

What do you think of the bubbling feud between Kodak Black and Pooh Shiesty?

Kyle Lowry Reportedly Knows He’s Being Traded

Kyle Lowry is easily one of the most important players in the history of the Toronto Raptors franchise. He was instrumental in their championship win back in 2019, and even last season, Lowry was the glue that kept the team together. This offseason, however, Lowry will become a free agent and with the Raptors looking to get younger, rumors have circulated that he wouldn’t want to re-sign in the offseason. As a result, the Raptors are reportedly looking to get something in return for him, at the trade deadline.

According to insider Ryen Russillo of The Ringer, Lowry is well-aware of his predicament and believes that a trade is a foregone conclusion. In fact, Lowry has already started telling teammates and his closest friends that he fully expects to be traded in just a few short weeks from now.

“The word on that is that Lowry has been telling everybody for a month that he’s getting traded, which is interesting that he’s already like ‘yeah, I’m out of here,’” Russillo claimed per Fadeaway World. “So I don’t know if that’s him saying it, I don’t know if that’s some understanding that he has with the front office, I don’t know that part of it but whenever you ask about Lowry, he thinks he’s leaving. I think they should trade him, by the way.”

There have been numerous teams who have expressed interest in Lowry, most notably, the Miami Heat who have been itching to get themselves an elite point guard. With the NBA trade deadline right around the corner, stay tuned for updates as we will be sure to bring them to you.

The Weeknd Spends An Entire Year On Hot 100 Top 10 With “Blinding Lights”

The Weeknd might not be nominated for any GRAMMY Awards at the upcoming ceremony this weekend but he’s having by far the best year of his career, releasing his masterpiece album After Hours and building a clear artistic vision with his music videos, red carpet looks, and show-stopping Super Bowl Halftime Performance. “Blinding Lights” has arguably been the biggest hit of his life, which is saying a lot because he’s had some huge records over the years. On Monday, it made history as the only song to pull off a seriously impressive feat on the Billboard Hot 100, adding to The Weeknd’s legacy.

According to Chart Data, with yet another week in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” has become the first song to ever spend an entire year (52 weeks) inside the chart’s Top 10. This week, the track rose up two spots to fall at the #3 position. It’s behind only Olivia Rodrigo’s smash debut single “driver’s license” and Cardi B’s “Up”.

This is a huge accomplishment for The Weeknd, who many believe to be the biggest snub from this year’s GRAMMY Awards. He had one of the top-selling albums of the year and After Hours (including “Blinding Lights”) earned zero nominations at the upcoming event.

Congratulations to The Weeknd on spending a full year in the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10 with “Blinding Lights”. Are you still religiously listening to the song?

The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’ Is The First Song To Spend A Full Year In The Top 10 Of The Hot 100

As it stands now, it seems to be Olivia Rodrigo’s world: It was just revealed that “Drivers License” is the No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for an eight consecutive week. Looking at the charts a different way, though, the world may actually belong to The Weeknd, as he just pulled off a spectacular feat that has never been done before.

“Blinding Lights” (which, as a reminder, was released as a single way back in November 2019), is No. 3 on the latest Hot 100, dated March 13. This is the song’s 52nd week in the top 10 of the chart, making it the first tune to ever spend a full year in the top 10. If the track can somehow remain in the top 5 spots for another 9 weeks (which doesn’t seem outlandish at this point), it’ll become the first song to spend a year in the top 5 as well. As of now, it has 43 top-5 weeks (which is a record), 52 weeks in the top 10, 58 weeks in the top 20 (which is second all-time), 61 weeks in the top 40 (tied for third all-time), and 65 weeks on the chart overall (tied for seventh-most all-time.)

Simply put, no song has ever dominated the Hot 100 quite like “Blinding Lights” has. On a bafflingly unrelated note, the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony is this weekend, where The Weeknd managed to secure exactly 0 nominations.
