Lil Durk Warns Followers To Think Before Accidentally Snitching On Themselves

In an era where a famous rapper has shamelessly taken the stands as a criminal informant, the last thing that anyone, in Hip-Hop and in life period, needs to do, is snitch on themselves. This year, Pooh Shiesty was arrested after feds extracted evidence from his Instagram, and one of the most tragic deaths in Hip-Hop in recent memory happened all because a rising rapper posted his Airbnb address online.

Last month, 2021 XXL Freshman 42 Dugg was so amazed by one of his associates’ inadvertent self-snitching that he shared his own set of social media codes. Now, Lil Durk has also commented on this recurring issue by taking to Twitter to offer his own take on social media and internet etiquette.

“Stop letting the internet trick you into telling on yourself,” Lil Durk warns his followers in one of his recent tweets, before offering up a timeless piece of advice. “…move in silence.”

It’s not clear who inspired the Voice of the Heroes rapper to share this tidbit of knowledge, but hopefully, Durk’s words reach whoever needs to hear them so that they don’t end up putting themselves behind bars.

Does Lil Durk have a point here? Does social media really trick people into incriminating themselves or is are their missteps simply due to their own lack of judgment?

Lakers Execs Reportedly Had Disagreements Over Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers last night in a massive deal that sent Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to the Washington Wizards. Westbrook is easily one of the best point guards in the league, and while he might not be the best shooter, he is more than effective at getting triple-doubles and racking up big stats while making highlight-reel plays. He officially makes the Lakers a Big Three with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, so heading into next season, fans are expecting the Lakers to take a leap forward.

Interestingly enough, not everyone within the Lakers organization was sold on the idea of bringing Russ to the city of Angels. According to Lakers insider Bill Reiter, numerous executives disagreed with bringing Russ to the Lakers because they felt like he wasn’t what the team needed. Rob Pelinka moved forward with the trade anyway, and now, Russ is officially going back home.

Per Reiter:

“There was a strong level of disagreement with the Lakers organization about whether or not Russell Westbrook was ultimately the person they needed to pursue with the picks and the players, meaning Montrezl Harrell and Kyle Kuzma, who are now headed to Washington. Communicating with one Lakers source who was not excited about the Westbrook trade, he said in the end, the star power and belief by general manager Rob Pelinka that Westbrook and his ability, his track record of excellence is what the Lakers need.”

It’s easy to see why some executives would disagree with the decision when you consider how the Lakers’ biggest need right now revolves around shooting. Westbrook is known for jacking up bad three-pointers, and it could create spacing problems. However, with LeBron and AD on the floor, all three superstars will be motivated to figure it out.

Fivio Foreign Is “Sh*tting” & “Pooping” On Thunderous Toosii Collab

Today, newly crowned XXL Freshman Toosii doubled down on all of the hype that he has built throughout 2021 and released the deluxe version to his May mixtape Thank You For Believing. By tacking on an additional ten tracks, Toosii’s fan-favorite project went jumped from a 38-minute runtime to a whopping one-hour and eight-minute runtime, and but so far, fans aren’t complaining one bit.

Like the original version of the project, Toosii kept the features on Thank You For Believing (The Manifestation) to a minimum, but he did end up linking with Florida rapper Hotboii and Brooklyn Drill rapper Fivio Foreign.

His collaboration with his fellow XXL Freshman alum has already been catching fan’s attention, and while the song is unarguable a pure burst of energy, it’s one line in particular that has fans talking about Toosii and Fivio’s new team-up. Towards the end of Fivio’s verse, the Brooklyn rapper randomly says, “Sh*tting, pooping, sh*tting, pooping ” and while it’s absolutely ridiculous, it somehow fits. Apparently, even Toosii and Fivio find it hilarious because the two rappers were seen on Instagram earlier today laughing about Fivio’s absurd bar.

Check out the music video for the electrifying Toosii and Fivio Foreign collab from Thank You For Believing (The Manifestation) below.

Quotable Lyrics

I’m ruthless, ice cream, scooping (Baow)
Sh*tting, pooping, sh*tting, pooping
I feel like the GOAT
I don’t need none of your votes (I don’t)
I don’t like how you talking, girl, watch the approach
Can’t ride my wave, I’ma blow up your boat (Baow, baow, baow)

Tink Effortlessly Delivers On Her New Album, “Heat Of The Moment”

Last year, Tink treated her fans to two strong projects, February’s 12-track album Hopeless Romanticand December’s seven-track EP A Gift and A Curse. Now, over halfway through the year, Tink has returned with another full-length LP, titled Heat Of The Moment. With an album cover that features her silhouette set against a huge, fiery sunset, Heat Of The Moment immediately contrasts the stark and cold imagery of her critically acclaimed Winter’s Diary mixtape series.

With her new Hitmaka executive-produced album, it’s clear that Tink isn’t looking back, and as the generational R&B talent sings on the Heat Of The Moment intro, she’s “the same b*tch, just on a different level.”

Tink’s latest album houses 14 tracks and clocks in right around 45 minutes, and in addition to the lush beat contributions from Hitmaka, Heat Of The Moment also boasts guest appearances from Yung Bleu, Davido, Jeremih, and Kodak Black.

Russell Westbrook Thanks DC And Comments On Lakers Trade

Russell Westbrook is now officially a member of the Los Angeles Lakers after a massive blockbuster trade that went down on Draft night. The Lakers sent Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and the 22nd overall pick to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Westbrook and some future second-round draft picks. It was one of those deals that immediately sends shockwaves throughout the NBA, and there is no doubt that this trade will have huge implications for next season.

Despite having a solid season in Washington, It was a foregone conclusion that Westbrook would want to go elsewhere, especially when you consider how he has yet to win a title, which is his ultimate goal. Despite his desire to leave Washington, Russ had nothing but good things to say about the team, as he took to Twitter with a message for the fans and the organization.

“Thank you DC! You welcomed my family and I with open arms from day one. Everyone from the front office, to the training staff, the coaches, my teammates, and the fans. I’m grateful y’all took a chance on me and supported me every step of the way,” Westbrook wrote. “I’m blessed to have been a part of such a stand up organization. It didn’t take long to make a home in DC, and I will forever be grateful and appreciative of my experience with the organization. Thank you!”

With Westbrook on his way to LA, he now has an opportunity to win his first title, alongside some of the best players in the NBA. While it might take some time for him to develop chemistry with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, there is no doubt that these three will produce box office basketball.

“Future 1017 CEO”: Gucci Mane Shares Adorable Picture Of Infant Son

Gucci Mane, who’s been busy working with his industry children under 1017 Records, took the time out to share new adorable pictures of his 7-month-old son Ice Davis on Instagram. In a post today, the Atlanta rapper showed off his son with his own ice– a signature “1017” chain– and a Gucci shirt, the rapper’s namesake.

Gucci Mane, real name Radric Delantic Davis, is clearly already planning for his son’s involvement in the 1017 brand, captioning the post: “Meet the future 1017 CEO.” Just last month, Davis described the birth of Ice as feeling like a first-time parent, because he and the mother of his previous child were estranged. Still, he and new mom Keyshia Ka’Oir had nothing but love for the experience– “For maybe the first four weeks, [Gucci] put him to sleep every night on his chest by himself. He’s a great dad,” Ka’Oir said.

Fans flocked to the comments of the post to show love to Ice. “Baby wop drip too hard like his daddy,” one user said, while another wrote “He’s so handsome.”

The 1017 label, run by Gucci Mane, has had an explosive year so far as Davis has signed a number of upcoming artists, including Hotboy Wes and BigWalkDog. 1017 signee Pooh Shiesty’s Shiesty Season, released under the label, is currently the highest grossing album of the year thus far.

Tyga’s Colorful ‘Mrs. Bubblegum’ Video Is Hilariously Booty-Filled

It isn’t often you get to write about watching a rap star literally eating ass in a new video without incurring a potential invasion of privacy lawsuit, but in the case of Tyga‘s new video for “Mrs. Bubblegum,” that’s exactly what happens. The… ahem… cheeky video finds the West Coast rap star surrounded by disembodied derrieres in a variety of hilarious situations including on a Mount Rushmore, as a member of Blue Man Group (the butts are drums, natch), dining on the aforementioned rump roast (served on a fancy plate!), and being swarmed by BUTTerflies. Sorry, I’ll stop now.

The song itself samples D4L’s snap-era ringtone classic “Laffy Taffy,” and if you listen closely, you can actually hear some of the vocals from that song’s inescapable hook. Tyga repurposes that hook, rewriting the lyrics from “shake that Laffy Taffy” to “shake that ass for me,” imploring listeners to imitate the gyrating, disembodied gluteuses that populate the video. Is it kind of crass? Absolutely. It’s also so irreverent and silly, it’s hard to get too mad at him. Meanwhile, his recent career resurgence has included a number of strip club anthems and an OnlyFans account. He’s certainly having himself a ride, at least he can laugh at himself along the way.

Hip-Hop Gets An Official Holiday In The United States

Since its early stages, Hip-Hop has pretty much been intertwined with politics, and now, nearly five full decades after the founding of the influential and globe-spanning genre, the United States Senate has opted to honor Hip-Hop by giving the genre three official holidays.

According to HipHopDX, the Senate chambers made history by nationally recognizing the impact that Hip-Hop has had on American culture, and to celebrate the genre, senators unanimously voted to officially designate a Hip Hop Celebration Day, a Hip Hop Recognition Month, and a Hip Hop History Month.

“By unanimous consent, the Senate passed S.Res.331,” the United States Senate Periodical Press Gallery confirmed via Twitter. For more insight into what S.Res.331 actually is, the Senate elaborated further on the topic, saying that it is “a resolution designating August 11, 2021, as ‘Hip Hop Celebration Day,’ designating August 2021 as ‘’Hip Hop Recognition Month’, and designating November 2021 as ‘Hip Hop History Month.'”

With August 11th often being recognized as the birth of Hip-Hop due to DJ Kool Herc’s now-legendary spinning at the “Back To School Jam” in the Bronx, it only makes sense that the Senate would choose that date for Hip Hop Celebration Day and the entire month of August as Hip Hop Recognition Month.

How do you plan on celebrating the inaugural Hip Hop Celebration Day next month on August 11?
