Nobody wins when the family feuds, or so they say, and DJ Akademiks thinks Offset and Quavo should unite. The Migos rappers are still mourning the loss of Takeoff, who was killed at the top of November 2022. He was at a private event in Houston with several others when a verbal argument turned deadly. Takeoff wasn’t involved in the fight but was said to be an innocent bystander who sadly lost his life.
J. Prince and his family have been enveloped in controversy after it was learned that J. Prince Jr. was at the fatal event. They were criticized for their proximity to the killing, but J. Prince has defended his family every step of the way. Things took a turn when he targeted Offset during his Million Dollaz Worth of Game interview. He fired off insults and claimed Offset’s family doesn’t have much contact with him.

Offset answered with a video of his own, but that only caused Prince to return. He alleged that Offset and Cardi B called him when they were having issues with purported gangs in Los Angeles. Prince also called Offset a “fake motherf*cka” and a “clown,” ushering in a beef that many don’t want to see unravel. Hip Hop commentators have chimed in with their hot takes, including DJ Akademiks, who believes Quavo should step forward in Offset’s defense. It’s rumored that the two relatives have been on the outs, including a near-spat that occurred backstage at the Grammys.
“You know the weirdest thing about it? I feel like more than Offset, J. Prince has disrespected Quavo,” said Akademiks. He then quickly corrected himself, saying it was less “disrespect” and more putting “Quavo on the spot.” He claimed that Prince insinuated that Quavo was responsible for Takeoff’s death. “They’re talking so much sh*t and we’re not hearing a motherf*ckin word from Quavo.“
