Jim Jones Disses Pusha T in "Summer Collection" Video

Jim Jones has fired back at Pusha T after his diss. Jones bypassed the glamorous backdrop of Paris for the block of Harlem, dropping a response to King Push over a hanging mic outside a bodega.

In a response called “Summer Collection,” a From the Block performance, Jones slings jabs at Pusha, including saying he is a fake JAY-Z, saying his diss was trash, joking about his fashion, and alluding that Pusha’s brother, No Malice, used crack.

If you are catching up on how this started, Jim Jones had feelings about Pusha T’s career earlier this year, and as expected, King Push had some words back. Pusha T and his brother No Malice joined their friend Pharrell Williams’ Louis Vuitton menswear fashion show.

As the duo strolled, a new Clipse record played, the first in 13 years, and Pusha had some bars that fans believe to be a response to Jim.

“Beware of my name, that there’s delegate
You know I know where you’re delicate
Crush you to pieces, I’ll hum a breath of it
I will close your heaven for the hell of it”

And another set of more pointed bars:

“You’d think there’d be honor amongst veterans
I am watching your fame escape relevance
We’re all in the room, but here’s the elephant
You’re chasing a feature out of your element”

The chasing feature bar could be a hint toward Jones’ relationship with Drake.

If you are wondering what started all of this, Jim Jones has been critical of Pusha T’s placement on Billboard’s Top 50 Rappers of all-time list. In short, Jim Jones wondered what made Pusha worthy of a ranking and also challenged his importance to HIp-Hop culture. Moments of this are captured by HipHopDX and also his return to The Breakfast Club.

Performing at the BET Awards is just the latest achievement for Ice Spice. Her career first took off back in August 2022, following the release of her breakthrough single, “Munch (Feelin’ U).” In the months since, she’s collaborated with Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj, while releasing several more hits. She recently discussed what it’s been like reaching this level of fame with Teen Vogue. Ice Spice revealed that remaining humble is what makes her most proud.

“I’m most proud of staying grounded so far because I’ve already been through so many things that I know a lot of people would’ve lost their f*cking minds,” she explained. “The whole lifestyle change is super drastic, especially coming from where I come from, not coming from sht and not having a lot growing up, to now — it’s the complete opposite…. Even though it’s a positive change, it’s still a change.”

Busta Rhymes Breaks Down Into Tears Accepting Lifetime Achievement Award At 2023 BET Awards

Busta Rhymes broke down into tears while accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2023 BET Awards on Sunday night. While speaking on stage at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, he reflected on his career and life as a whole.

“All right. So, I’m going to wear it on my sleeve. I do want to cry,” Rhymes began before taking a long moment to let his emotions loose. He continued: “I’m going to say I am grateful that the blessing that has been bestowed upon me and this gift that I have been given and this fire that continues to burn as a passion in my soul, that allows me to get into any situation — from the stage to collabing with whoever — and making sure that I am far from the weak link. Because I enjoy walking away from a situation saying, ‘I bust ass!’”

Busta continued: “It’s just me trying to do my duty to continue to advance the culture and continue to contribute in a significant way. I see so many people in here that I have known and grown with for a long time, you’re watching me grow and I love y’all and I know y’all love me.”

Busta Rhymes Breaks Down Into Tears

In addition to the speech, a short video honoring Busta’s legacy also played. It featured Diddy, Pharrell Williams, Janet Jackson, Dave Chappelle, and more discussing his impact. Scott Mills, CEO of BET, announced in a statement, earlier this week, that Busta would accept the award. “Busta Rhymes is a multifaceted, award-winning artist who has mesmerized audiences for decades with his original hip-hop sound and one-of-a-kind visuals,” Mills said at the time. “He continues to leave an indelible mark on the culture that we hold dear, and it is with great pride that we present this year’s lifetime achievement award to a visionary, a master of rhyme and a true pioneer.”

Busta Rhymes’ 2023 BET Awards’ Lifetime Achievement Performance Was As Wild As He Deserves

Busta Rhymes was given a massive tribute at the 2023 BET Awards as he received a Lifetime Achievement Award. After award presenter, Marlon Wayans roasted the Long Island MC for his boisterous demeanor, a video of Busta’s longtime collaborators and admirers like Diddy, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Missy Elliott, Pharrell, and more found him being called “hip-hop’s mayor” and being complicated for his “rambunctious and bold” approach to hip-hop music. His one-of-a-kind impact could only be celebrated in one way, though — a performance featuring all of those qualities.

And so, Busta hit the stage to accept his award from Swizz Beatz and show off his unmatched energy with an electrifying set including his verses from MOP’s “Ante Up” and A Tribe Called Quest’s “Scenario” remixes, his verse from Chris Brown’s “Look At Me Now,” and his hits “Break Ya Neck,” “Give It To Me,” “New York Sh*t,” “Touch It,” and “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See” — with a special appearance from Coi Leray, who performed her remix of “Players” that samples it. He finished with his new song with BIA, “Beach Ball” and a tribute to his Jamaican roots.

During his acceptance speech, Busta admitted, “I do wanna cry,” before doing just that, shedding a couple of tears as he acknowledged his kids (the oldest of whom appeared in his “Woo-Hah!” video) and recounted his journey through hip-hop, from making his debut with Leaders Of The New School to becoming a Grammy-nominated solo artist and game-changing MC who became ubiquitous over the next 30 years.

He also spoke out against petty beef in hip-hop (I’m gonna stare meaningfully at Jim Jones and Pusha T right now), while shouting out J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, and other hip-hop luminaries for their work in keeping hip-hop at the forefront of culture despite streamers warning that its popularity is waning. Hip-hop’s 50th birthday was also celebrated with a string of performances saluting decades of excellence.

Ice Spice’s 2023 BET Awards Performance Was A Tribute To Hip-Hop’s Birthplace, Her Hometown, The Bronx

Ice Spice was shell-shocked by her rise to fame. However, ever since she gained the attention of music fans, the “Barbie World” rapper hasn’t let up. Her 2023 BET Awards performance was no different. Keeping in alignment with the theme of the evening, her set was a tribute to hip-hop’s birthday, her hometown, the Bronx, New York.

To start, the musician floated above a basketball court, a setup to recreate the video for her viral song “Munch” as she spit the highly quoted line, “You thought I was feelin’ you?”

After that made her way to the bodega, a New York staple, as she performed her new big track, “Princess Diana.” Closing her performance, “In Ha Mood,” led Ice Spice back to the faux Fordham Road MTA train stop. Ice Spice being dubbed “The People’s Princess” has gone to her head in the best ways forcing her to work harder. Her 2023 BET Awards performance was a display of that quick grind.

Although she didn’t take any awards home, she was nominated in several categories, including Best New Artist, Best Collaboration (“Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2,” Pinkpantheress & Ice Spice), Best Female Hip Hop Artist, and BET Her (“Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2,” Pinkpantheress & Ice Spice).
