Michael Jackson Estate Accuses Latoya Jackson’s Ex-fiance of Robbing Jackson’s Estate Following His Death

Michael Jackson

Almost exactly 13 years after his death, Michael Jackson‘s estate has accused Jeffre Phillips, the ex-fiance of the late singer’s sister LaToya Jackson, of stealing some of the singer’s personal effects following Jackson’s death in 2009.

Phillips was apparently staying at Jackson’s estate as a guest in 2009 when the singer died. He had reportedly been staying there for just over a week and stayed about the same amount of time after Jackson’s death. Phillips allegedly stole many of Jackson’s personal effects including his iPhone, clothes, driver’s license, prescription pills, handwritten letters, electronics including video cameras, computers, laptops, and hard drives, as well as a briefcase that contained some of Jackson’s personal and business paperwork. He allegedly also stole the pajamas that Jackson was wearing at the time of his death.

Phillips was dating LaToya Jackson at the time although the pair did not get engaged until 2013. They broke up in 2015.

So far, it does not appear that formal charges have been filed against Phillips.

Sha’Carri Richardson Tells Press “Y’all Should Respect Athletes More”

There was a point in time with Sha’Carri Richardson was a media darling, but once she failed a drug test just ahead of the Olympics, she found that many turned on her without hesitation. The track star still has a rising sports career that has catapulted her into new spaces and heights, but she still finds herself battling against controversial headlines that are often sensationalized to make her situations look worse than they are.

The 22-year-old met face to face with a swarm of press after leaving a mixed zone interview that came on the heels of Richardson failing to qualify for the 200-meter final. This would mean she wouldn’t have a chance at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships. Although she didn’t take any interviews, she did make a statement about the need for reporters and media to be more respectful to athletes.

“I’m coming to speak, not just on my behalf but on all athletes’ behalves, that when you guys do interviews, y’all should respect athletes more,” Richardson said. “Y’all should understand whether they’re coming from winning, whether they’re losing, whatever the case may be. Athletes deserve way more respect than when y’all just come and throw cameras into their faces.

“Understand how an athlete operates and then ask your questions. Then be more understanding of the fact that they are still human, no matter just to the fact that y’all are just trying to put something out in an article to make a dollar. Thank you.”

After someone posted a clip of the message to Twitter, Richardson returned to say she planned on launching her own platform “so fans can really connect and learn the sport, as well as the athletes and the stories & questions put out is what the world actually want to know and it’s real, not sold for a dollar.”

Shyne Talks “Miraculous Journey” From Rapper To Politician: “I’ve Always Been A Visionary”

His impact on Hip Hop is well-documented as both an artist and writer, but these days, Shyne is moving in a different direction. In the 2000s, the Belizean-born, New York City-bred rapper was finding international success during his Bad Boy tenure, but a nightclub shooting in 1999 derailed his music aspirations. In 2001, Shyne was sentenced to 10 years in prison and he wouldn’t see freedom until 2009.

Shyne was immediately deported to Belize and since that time, he has continued to thrive. It is reported that his efforts have helped the Belizean music industry become more sustainable and Shyne has even been named the Ambassador of Music. Outside of the industry, however, he acts as a politician in the country’s House of Representatives.

His fans have marveled at his accomplishments and he has remained a favorite in and out of entertainment. That is why BET Award viewers lept out of their seats when he made an appearance during Sean “Diddy” Combs’s tribute medley. Shyne performed his “Bad Boyz” classic with a few adjustments, and prior to taking to the stage, he chatted with Revolt about his evolution from rapper to politician.

“It was a miraculous journey but certainly a part of who I’ve always been. I’ve always been a servant to my fellow men and women, I’ve always been a leader, I’ve always been a visionary, an activist, even in my Hip Hop era,” he said. “I was always trying to bring attention to the plight of the difficulties and the struggles in urban America, and now as the Opposition Leader of the House of Representatives, I get to bring attention to many of the ills and many of the challenges of all my countrywomen and men.”

“It is the greatest responsibility, the greatest privileged that I’ve ever had in my life.”

NLE Choppa Argues Why He Deserves “Top Rappers Under 25” Respect

He didn’t share what prompted his recent set of tweets, but NLE Choppa is reminding people why he believes people need to put more respect on his name. As you already know, at any given time, you can find some list of Top rappers, or artists sharing their own picks, much like Roddy Ricch recently did when he was asked to name his Top 3 rappers under 25.

The Los Angeles hitmaker chose himself, NBA YoungBoy, and Kodak Black, and as Roddy’s choices went viral, Choppa tweeted a few messages about his own accomplishments.

“Best under 25.. it’s crazy to not mention me when you realize I’m only 19,” he wrote. “You don’t have to like my music but my numbers are undeniable. 16 Gold And Platinum Plaques, 6 Songs Over 100M, 6 Billion Streams Worldwide, Sold Out Tour In US, Also Currently Selling out EUROPE TOO [goat emoji].”

Then, Choppa added that he isn’t looking to be matched up against his peers.

You can’t compare me to no n*gga. I’m literally the youngest doing it and it ain’t one person at my age done what I’ve done so far,” he insisted. “Everybody else got atleast 3 years on me average. Then it’s me 3 years in the game and I’ve already did more than some n*ggas whole career.”

His fans co-signed his boasting but there were others who didn’t agree. Check out NLE Choppa’s tweets and let us know where you stand.

French Montana & Tiffany Haddish Have A Flirty Exchange At BET Awards

We’re still reeling from BET Awards Weekend as the celebrations took over Los Angeles. Our favorite stars across the industry descended on the City of Angels and hopped from one event to the next as they networked, partied, and reunited with their famous friends. The award show itself honored Sean “Diddy” Combs for his contributions to the industry, and that acknowledgment came with a full medley performance of his great hits, collaborations, and productions.

Two people that made the most of one of the culture’s biggest nights were Tiffany Haddish and French Montana who were caught close on camera having a great time.

The comedian always knows how to slip in a joke or two, so so after French called her his “wife,” Haddish had a few questions.

“Oh, I’m your wife? How many you got already,” she said as Frech gave her a kiss on the cheek. “I know you Muslim. I’m Jewish, is that gonna be a problem.” The rapper laughed and as he was reassuring her everything would be fine, the actress returned the cheeky smooch.

The adorable yet brief interaction circulated throughout social media and the flirtations weren’t missed by their fans. Check out these two below and let us know what you thought of this year’s BET Awards.
