Metro Boomin’s Mother Reportedly Killed By Boyfriend

On Saturday night, the mother of Atlanta producer Metro Boomin was killed by her boyfriend before he killed himself, according to Hollywood Unlocked. It is a devastating loss for one of the biggest producers in the music industry.

Leslie Wayne was instrumental to Metro Boomin’s success. According to Metro, his mother would sometimes drive him over eight hours from St. Louis to Atlanta so that he could collaborate with rappers he had met online.

It’s clear that Metro and his mother were close. In one tweet from a few years ago, the producer called her his “biggest inspiration.” No other details about her death have been released.

Metro Boomin has been incredibly busy this year. In January, Future shared a video of himself and Metro hard at work in the studio. In March, Metro and Lil Durk confirmed that a collab album was on the way. Additionally, he collaborated with Gunna on his smash hit Drip Season 4Ever, which included features from Drake, Kodak Black, Lil Baby, and more. Metro also has been vocal about the YSL indictment that has both Gunna and Young Thug, among others, locked up right now. In a tweet, Metro wrote, “Using song lyrics to indict n****s is lame af and a joke. These the same lyrics that have made billions for these corporations over the past decade. I’m waiting now to see who gon step up and use those same resources now that the coin has turned.”

Leslie Wayne’s death remains a developing story. Condolences to Metro Boomin and the rest of the Wayne family.

Mass Shooting In Philadelphia Leaves 13 Injured & 3 Dead

Recently, mass shootings have been consistent in the news cycle. In a span of three weeks, the United States has been in mourning due to the Buffalo shooting that took the lives of ten innocent grocery store shoppers on May 10, the chilling tragedy in Uvalde, TX that left 19 children and two teachers deceased, and the tragedy that took place at a hospital in Tusla, Oklahoma, leaving five people dead.

Now, there’s a new terrifying story making headlines. On Saturday night at around 11:30 p.m., shots were fired into a crowded street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, injuring at least 13 people and killing 3. According to the police inspector, D.F. Pace, there were numerous active shooters firing shots.

According to reports, an officer fired a shot at one of the gunmen, but he was able to flee the scene before getting caught. Pace also added that two firearms were retrieved– one of which had an extended magazine clip attached to it.

The shooting took place at a location that is often busy in the city of Philly– on South Street. The block is filled with restaurants, bars, galleries, and stores, making it the perfect place for large groups of people to gather.

As of now, no arrests have been in connection to the shooting. According toThe Philadelphia Inquirer, police have been able to identify the three killed and stated that those injured ranged from ages 17 to 69.

Hot New Hip Hop will make updates on the tragedy as they occur.

Vory’s “Lost Souls” Album Is Full Of “R&B Season” Tunes

The last time we provided you with an R&B Season update, we spotlighted Ravyn Lenae’s HYPNOS album along with tracks from AUGUST 08 and ScHoolboy Q, 070 Shake, Jacquees, and Mereba.

This time around, we’re keeping things short and sweet, putting you on to new releases from Vory’s Lost Souls album as well as Post Malone’s fourth studio album, twelve carat toothache, which surprisingly landed him his lowest first week sales projections since 2016’s Stoney, though he’s still got a pretty good shot at debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 Chart.

For Posty’s part, we have a melancholy tune called “Lemon Tree,” on which the 26-year-old expresses some of the darker thoughts that live in his head. “Blood on my hands, I’m on the fence, I double down / A swing and a miss, a kick in the ribs, in trouble now,” he croons before reminding us of his strength, which overcomes all of the pain he feels.

From Vory’s debut project, we have “Mind Games” a solo offering about some relationship drama which was produced by Smash David, FRAXILLE, and JW Lucas; if you like that, you’ll definitely want to hear his “F*ck Being Famous” collaboration with BEAM, which he also spotlighted this weekend.

Check out our full R&B Season playlist below, and tap back in with HNHH later for more music news updates.

Johnny Depp Swarmed By Fans At Concert After Amber Heard Verdict

Johnny Depp is riding high right now. The actor was awarded $15 million in damages from Amber Heard in the verdict of their media-circus trial. In his response to the verdict, he wrote that the “best is yet to come” in his career.

Depp supporters have also been reveling in the victory. This was evident on Saturday night, when Depp performed with Jeff Beck at the Manchester 02 Apollo. Fans ate up the performance, and cheered over his victory against Heard.

After his show, the Pirate of the Caribbean star was surrounded by adoring onlookers. Depp seemed to love the attention, and took selfies with many in the crowd. He appeared to have been wearing a bracelet which summed up his viewpoint on the legal battles between Amber Heard and himself: it simply read, “Innocent.” The actor has been in the United Kingdom for a week now.

While Johnny celebrates his big win, many on the internet are weighing in on their opinion of the verdict. Some, like Candace Owens, are all for Depp’s triumph. Others are not on board, like Kathy Griffin, who called Depp a “bloated boozebag.” Heard herself has released a statement on the verdict, writing, “I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband.”

She also wrote of the wider ramifications the verdict might have: “I’m even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously.”

Amanda Seales Rants Abouts Being Left Off “The Real” Farewell Episode

Back in 2020, the hit talk show, The Real, garnered a new co-host for its sixth season. Amanda Seales joined the panel that consisted of  Adrienne Bailon, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, and Tamera Mowry-Housley. Together, the outspoken women shared their perspectives on topics ranging from motherhood to beauty and fashion.

Things seemed to be off to a good start– until Seales decided to quit just five months after joining. When explaining why she chose to do so, Seales stated, “It doesn’t feel good to my soul to be at a place where I can not speak to my people the way they need to be spoken to and where the people that are speaking to me in despairing ways are not being handled.”

Since her departure two years ago, the television show has come to an end. Earlier this year, it was announced that the series would be canceled after having an eight-year run. While there was no clear say as to why, Loni Love blamed it on Covid costs.

Of course, producers couldn’t just cut the show in its tracks. So, they decided to create a farewell episode– but they left someone out, Amanda. The 40-year-old actress wasn’t fond of not being included and took to social media to express herself. In a video, she stated, “I am not featured in the farewell episode, apparently. I’ll have some things to say about that.”

She also voiced her opinion on Twitter when a fan asked why she had been left out of the thumbnail. Amanda responded, “…They can absolutely go duck themselves with a chainsaw for doing so.”

Atlanta Rapper Trouble Reported Dead At 34, Ex-GF Alexis Skyy & Bow Wow Pay Tribute

The Atlanta rap community is in mourning once again. Early on the morning of Sunday, June 5th it was reported that Trouble – best known for hits like “Ain’t My Fault,” “Ready,” and “Kesha Dem” – was shot and killed in his car.

Not long after the gossip surfaced online, the recording artist’s family members and his ex-girlfriend Alexis Skyy confirmed his passing (though not the manner of how) in a Twitter tribute. “Rip @TroubleDTE,” she wrote above a throwback photo of the pair.

“I’m so sorry this happen to you Skoob, you didn’t deserve this. I’m praying for your kids and family.”

A frequent collaborator of Trouble’s, Young Scooter, also paid tribute to his fallen friend, posting a portrait of the late artist wearing a white and red polo shirt with tons of flashy jewelry on him. “[Damn] Skoob, rest up my boy,” he wrote.

Bow Wow has also shown his late friend love on social media. “Trouble was my dawg!” he began. “Pulled up anywhere I was at, didn’t care if it was last minute, he was there. I can’t believe this… What is going on, man! My condolences to his family. Bro had kids man!”

As HipHopNMore reports, the recently deceased lyricist was signed to Duct Tape Entertainment label and had a slew of successful records including “Bring It Back,” which features Drake and was produced by Mike WiLL Made-It. Other collaborators throughout his career included the City Girls, Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Migos, and The Weeknd.

Trouble was born Mariel Semonte Orr on November 4th, 1987. He made his debut back in 2011, but it wasn’t until he jumped on YFN Lucci’s “Key to the Streets” in 2016 that he found mainstream success. At this time, details surrounding his death are under wraps, but tap back in with HNHH later for any future updates.

RIP Trouble.

In the video, his mom is clearly moved, even crying at some points. “When I was a little boy, I hated when my mom would cry,” Rock wrote. “These days, I’ll happily take her tears of joy.” It’s clear Johnson paid a lot of attention to even the smallest details of the house. “Took me and my design team 8 weeks to get it ready, where she could walk through her front door for the very first time and everything she saw was brand new and a total surprise,” Johnson wrote.

In a separate video, Johnson’s mom took in her new family room, which was filled with decorations honoring her family’s past and heritage. “We placed her vintage ukuleles up on the wall,” wrote Johnson. “I was able to unearth pictures of our ancestors that she hasn’t seen since she was a child growing up in Samoa. She misses her mom and dad. I miss them too.”

Check out the interior of the house below. Definitely a thoughtful gift.

DaniLeigh Hints At Having A New, Faithful Bae

DaniLeigh’s love life has been no secret. The 27-year-old has been involved in her fair share of drama with North Carolina rapper, DaBaby. Since 2020, the two parents have been seen both arguing on social media and showing each other love. After being on a rollercoaster ride for nearly two years, the two are officially done.

This means that Dani is free to be with whomever she pleases– and she might already be boo’d up. The “Easy” songstress posted a picture on her Instagram story that has people asking questions. In the image, Dani wore a matching two-piece set and flipped her hair for the camera while smiling. She wrote, “When u see bae being faithful [double heart emoji].”

Aside from hinting at having a new man, Dani also used her single, “Dead To Me,” to accompany the picture.

The record, which was released on May 10, is a diss track against her baby’s father, Da Baby, whose real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk. In the two-minute song, Dani sang about the toxic relationship she had with the rapper, including the fact that no one in her family favored him.

In recent news regarding the artist, she and her brother faced backlash after a video of them dancing together went viral on social media. While many people thought it was weird for Dani to twerk near her sibling, her brother differed, saying, “that’s my sister. I see y’all trying to break that bond and sh*t but y’all can’t break it. At the end of the day, my whole family dance like that.”
