Nick Cannon Remixes “Ciara’s Prayer”: “These Women Need Me”

Nick Cannon is known for plenty of things – hosting various TV shows, such as Wild ‘N Out and America’s Got Talent, fathering a plethora of children, and he’s even made some successful music over the years too. Just a few weeks ago, the 41-year-old shared The Explicit Tape: Raw & B, which finds him getting filthy with friends like Gennis, Jacquees, Brandy, and Hitman Holla.

Another artist featured on the 14-track album is R&B star K. Michelle, who lent her vocal talents to the opening track, “A Player’s Prayer,” which puts a twist on Summer Walker and Ciara’s 2021 Still Over It hit, “Ciara’s Prayer.”

“Jesus, I need you / I don’t fully understand everything right now / But I know you have great plans for me,” the “Level Up” hitmaker (who recently made headlines of her own for twerking on top of a Ford Bronco at a gas station) speaks on the song. “I’m hurting, but there’s purpose in my pain / I need you.”

For his version, Cannon essentially penned CiCi’s antithesis. “Jesus, these women need me / I don’t fully understand everything right now / But I know my steps are ordered,” he begins. “But the enemy has placed this pimpin’ in my path / I’m hurtin’ / There’s purpose in my pain / I need you / I need you to restore my faith in these chicks.”

The song comes as the multihyphenate is preparing for the arrival of his eighth child, this one mothered by model Bre Tiesi.

Recent reports have revealed that another one of the California native’s baby mothers, Abby De La Rosa, is pregnant again nearly a year after welcoming her twins with Cannon, though it remains unclear if he’s the father of her forthcoming arrival – read more about that here, and tap back in with HNHH later for more music news updates.

Steve Harvey Addresses Lori Harvey & Michael B. Jordan’s Split: “I’m Team Lori”

Steve Harvey has opened up about his daughter Lori’s split from Michael B. Jordan, saying that he’s “pretty sure they’ll be fine.” The celebrity couple reportedly parted ways last week after dating for over a year.

“I feel fine. I’m fine…I still gotta go to work…I still gotta take care of my family,” Harvey said jokingly on The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Monday. “I’m team Lori, 1000 percent. She’s my daughter. I love her, I support her.”

The veteran comedian went on to explain that it’s difficult to maintain a successful relationship with the spotlight on you. Harvey has been married three times himself.

“Look, as long as everybody can walk away in peace, be friends…I ain’t heard nobody say they busted no windows or nothing,” he said. “As long as you don’t put your hands on my daughter, I don’t give a damn what you do.”

“He’s still a cool guy…from what I know. It’s a breakup. I’m pretty sure they’ll be fine. People break up all the time,” Harvey added before referencing his own relationship history. “I just wish I could have broke up without the cost factor! I got to start learning from my children, get out early! I waited way too late.”

Lori and Jordan first made things Instagram official in January 2021 and appeared to be doing well in the year since. A source for People reported that Jordan’s desire to take the relationship to the next level didn’t go over well with Lori. Being 35-years-old, Jordan is ten years her senior.

Jordan made his first public appearance since the breakup at Game 2 of the 2022 NBA Finals on Sunday with Cordae.

Logic Reveals 30-Song Tracklist For New Album “Vinyl Days”

Logic fans are gearing up for the release of his new album Vinyl Days with a lot of excitement. Not only has the Maryland native dropped a few well-received singles for the project, but he just revealed the entire tracklist to fans this morning. The album will be 30 tracks long, 23 if you exclude skits.

This will easily be Logic’s longest studio release so far, and he made sure to fill that time with one of his most extensive feature lists in his career. Vinyl Days boasts features from Action Bronson, Langston Bristo, Curren$y, Russ, Doc D, iamJMARS, Big Lenbo, C Dot Castro, Royce Da 5’9″, the RZA, Nezi Momodu, Like, Blu, Exile, AZ, DJ Premier, and The Game.

When Logic announced the album last month, he let fans know that it would have a lot of features on it. Some that were teased, like Earl Sweatshirt, didn’t end up making the final cut, but the tracklist has more than enough star power to entice some of his most old-school and hardcore fans.

Logic’s been keeping busy while fans wait for Vinyl Days, though, which is his first official release after he had announced his retirement with 2020’s No Pressure album. He released the mixtape Bobby Tarantino III in 2021 along with a side project under the moniker Doctor Destruction and recently announced a joint summer tour with Wiz Khalifa that will be kicking off in late July.

Logic’s tracklist for Vinyl Days also comes days after he seemed to admit that his panned 2019 album Confessions of A Dangerous Mind was a social experiment meant to show how a controversial album can become popular. The news had fans feeling a bit confused and skeptical, but with new teases for Vinyl Days and its release date approaching closer and closer, Logic fans are eating well soon.

Check out the tracklist below.

Dave Chappelle & Black Star “Drink Champs” Reportedly Put On Hold

It’s been over a month since Dave Chappelle was attacked on stage at the Netflix Is A Joke festival. The attacker, who was later identified as 23-year-old Isaiah Lee, was charged with a misdemeanor for his attack on Chappelle and was also charged with attempted murder for a resurfaced crime

Not long after the attack, Drink Champs teased that Chappelle, and hip hop artists Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli of Black Star were set to appear on the show, alongside fellow comedian Donnell Rawlings The episode was reportedly set to release on May 26, but according to Page Six, Chappelle called for the episode to be put on hold due to the recent tragedies in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas.

“It came time to run it, and it was right after [mass shootings] in Buffalo and Texas. [Chappelle and his team] just thought it was ill-timed. … They wanted to approve the timing of it and thought, ‘Hold off, slow down. It’s tone-deaf to release something at this time,” a source said to Page Six.

The episode was meant to focus on the release of Black Star album, No Fear of Time, which was their first in 24 years.

“They were supposed to interview Black Star about their new album, and Dave wanted to pop in and shout out Black Star, which he did,” the source revealed.

The hip hop duo roll with Chappelle often and they even performed at the Netflix Is A Joke festival after the attack.

According to Page Six, there have been talks of releasing the episode at a different time or editing out Chappelle’s part. We’ll keep you posted on what happens with the anticipated episode.

Michael B. Jordan Hits Up NBA Finals Following Lori Harvey Split

Over the weekend, it was reported that Lori Harvey and Michael B. Jordan ended their relationship after over a year together. The reasons for the split are still a bit cloudy right now, however, it is clear that MBJ is going through a bit of a tough time right now as he truly believed that the relationship would work out.

In order to get his mind off of things, MBJ was in San Francisco on Sunday night where he was able to take in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. The Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics at the Chase Center and Jordan got to watch the match alongside Cordae who was all smiles.

According to Eonline, while Jordan was at the game to take his mind off of things, he seemed to be pretty down in the dumps. A source close to the situation said “Michael B Jordan and Cordae came together and sat courtside for Game 2 of the Celtics vs Warriors NBA Finals series. MBJ went right to his seat upon arrival. He didn’t do much cheering. He wasn’t his usual excited self tonight.”

Per reports, Jordan and Harvey are still in love with one another and they are very upset that things weren’t able to work out. Perhaps reconciliation is in order, however, until then, they shall remain apart.

Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
