Inflo Wants To Establish A Base Rate And Royalty For Young Producers
Inflo, the reigning BRIT Awards Producer Of The Year, has been absolutely on fire as of late with his work as the creative force behind Sault, producing tracks for Adele’s latest album, 30, and for British R&B singer Cleo Sol. But as the London producer (whose real name is Dean Josiah Cover) sees his success skyrocketing, he has his mind on protecting the interests of aspiring creatives who are looking to follow in his footsteps.
In a recent Instagram post, Inflo indicated that he and Nathan Burke, his partner on the Forever Living Originals label (that releases Sault and Cleo Sol’s music), are trying to establish a base rate and royalty structure for up and coming producers in the UK. Inflo said that they’ve been engaged in talks with music industry leaders in hopes of changing the paradigm.
“This will ensure young producers are protected on any major label releases and have a code of conduct to go by,” he said.
He acknowledged the significance of being the first Black person since 1977 to win the Producer Of The Year award at the BRITs and notes, “Most young producers, especially young black producers, come into the business really pure, with friends as management and no real guidance, protection or understanding.”
You can read the entire statement from Inflo below and power to him and this effort.
“Nathan & I have been on a mission to introduce a base rate and royalty for young producers in the UK.
This will ensure young producers are protected on any major label releases and have a code of conduct to go by.
We’ve been having conversations with producers, artists, labels and lawyers to see what that rate can be. Everyone agrees no young or upcoming producers should be exploited, and the artist shouldn’t have to give up any further royalty share than they already have been.
Most young producers, especially young black producers, come into the business really pure, with friends as management and no real guidance, protection or understanding. They’re often eager for placements and would sign without fully understanding contracts, in desperation of life-changing opportunities.
I honestly feel most of us have come into the music business to make it a better place creatively and economically, for the opportunity to leave a legacy that our children and children’s children can be proud of.
I didn’t want to speak on my award without any real progress being made, but we are now at the halfway point and I wanted to acknowledge the moment.
Thanks to the Brits for acknowledging me as Producer of the Year. I feel very humbled and grateful to be the first black producer to win in this category since 1977. Big up all the Black British producers before I & I and killing it right now everywhere, so inspiring!!
Love to Nathan & my Forever Living Originals team for supporting me in every way.
Love to Mummy, DD Cleo & Little Man
Love to God.”
Janelle Monáe Exposes Underboob In Risqué Black & White Outfit At WeHo Pride Parade
Pride Month is in full swing, and non-binary icon themselves, Janelle Monáe was tapped to act as grand marshal of the loud and proud parade that took place in West Hollywood, California over the weekend.
No stranger to making bold fashion choices, the Kansas City native let it all hang out – literally – pairing a very cropped long-sleeve mesh t-shirt with a black and white checkered mini skirt and a matching police hat. To keep their look somewhat modest (and accessorize) Monáe added dangly silver nipple covers, as well as a choker around their neck.

Over on their Instagram page, the Moonlight star shared a side-view of their OOTD, revealing that clean white Doc Martens were the footwear of choice, flowing beautifully with the rest of her colourless ensemble.
“Like what,” Monáe wrote in the caption. “Thank you WeHo Pride 2022! More gay things to come.”
Back in April, the Dirty Computer songstress came out as non-binary while appearing on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk alongside their own mother, Janet.
“I’m nonbinary,” they explained. “So I just don’t see myself as a woman solely. I feel all of my energy. I feel like God is so much bigger than the “he” or the “she.” And if I am from God, I am everything. I am everything. But I will always, always stand with women.”
Monáe continued, “I will always stand with Black women. But I just see everything that I am. Beyond the binary.” See more photos from the WeHo Pride Parade below.

Deshaun Watson’s 24th Lawsuit Comes With Very Graphic Allegations
Deshaun Watson was facing 22 sexual assault allegations about a week ago before it became 23 on Friday. All of these women are currently suing him for sexual misconduct and by now, it has been well established that all of these women were massage therapists who Watson had sought out for their services.
Today, Watson was hit with a 24th lawsuit and according to TMZ, the alleged victim, Katy Williams, has some pretty graphic accusations pertaining to the Browns star.

According to the report, Williams saw Watson for a massage back on August 5th of 2020. During that session, Watson was professional and things seemed to go pretty smoothly. However, a few days later, they had another session which eventually turned sour due to Watson’s alleged conduct. As she explains, Watson asked her to go up his thighs to the point where she was grazing his scrotum. From there, Watson got an erection and began to masturbate in front of her. Williams goes on to say that Watson ejaculated on her and when she went to go wash up, the QB pretended as though nothing happened.
In the report, it was also stated that Williams faced emotional distress following the incident and even quit the profession. Now, she is seeking damages in the lawsuit.

Cam’ron Goes On Hilarious Rant About “Old Harlem” When Prompted By His Son
Cam’ron went on a lengthy rant about “Old Harlem” when prompted by his 21-year-old son, Cameron Derek Giles. Giles shared a video of the hilarious stories told by the legendary rapper on his Instagram page, Sunday.
Giles joked that his dad “goes off” anytime he mentions “Old Harlem,” so he’ll bring it up whenever he needs a laugh.
“I used to bust n****s asses,” Cam’ron said in the clip. “You don’t even know your father was the nicest n-gga on the court, but soon as we left there, we went to Grant’s Tomb every Thursday. It was wild bitches at Grant’s Tomb, like super… mad bitches. So we would get fresh. You know about Grant’s Tomb, right?”

After Giles mentions not knowing anything about Grant’s Tomb, Cam’ron is shocked: “The fuck you don’t know about Grant’s Tomb? You bugging.”
Following a flash-forward in time, Cam’ron recalls being involved in a shootout where he had to try to help escort people to safety.
Near the end of the video, Cam’ron asks if he’s being recorded and his son lies, claiming that he’s texting a friend.
Cam’ron was born and raised in East Harlem back in the 1970s and ’80s where he attended Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics. There, he met his longtime friends Mase and Jim Jones. He started his music career in the mid-1990s.
The video comes ahead of Cam’ron’s new Paramount+ series, Hip Hop My House, which will blend his love for hip hop with his passion for interior design.

50 Cent Shares His Thoughts On NFL’s First Openly Transgender Cheerleader, Justine Lindsay
While 50 Cent hasn’t been taking kindly to Madonna’s Instagram content over the past few months, he did seem to have a positive opinion on another controversial figure – the NFL’s first openly transgender cheerleader, Justine Lindsay.
If you’re not familiar, the 29-year-old was hired by the Carolina Panthers Topcats cheer squad back in March and is due to suit up for the 2022/23 NFL playing season.
On the evening of Sunday, June 5th, Fif hopped on IG to share his opinion after coming across a Daily Mail headline about the performer. “I guess the NFL is looking to spread its wings,” he wrote in the caption.
“Why not a transgender player though? I hope this is not just for press.” Not long after, the upload was removed from his feed.
Seeing as June is Pride Month, Lindsay gave her first interview with BuzzFeed News over the weekend, opening up about her experience of becoming a professional cheerleader as a trans woman. “I think more people need to see this,” she shared.
“It’s not because I want recognition. It’s just to shed light on what’s going on in the world,” Lindsay continued. Over on her own IG page, she even called out those who have been hating on her come up, telling them “thank you.”
Elsewhere on his social media accounts, 50 Cent showed big love to both Mo’Nique (who he’s working with on the upcoming season of his BMF series) and his youngest son, Sire Jackson – read more about that here, and tap back in with HNHH later for more pop culture news updates.

Chief Keef Launches 43B Record Label & Brings On Lil Gnar As 1st Signee
Chief Keef is launching 43B, a new record label in partnership with RBC Records and BMG. The outfit will be helmed by Keef’s long-time manager Idris Dykes as CEO as well as Sophie Kautz as head of A&R and marketing. The label’s first signee will be Atlanta rapper Lil Gnar.
“43B has been a passion project of mine for over a year and I’m ready to give artists that are changing the game a label where they can really succeed,” Keef said in a press release, according to Complex. “I’ve been independent for almost 10 years, so I want to pass on my knowledge of the industry to artists who are shifting the culture so they can make it to the top.”

43B, which Keef says stands for “Forget Everybody,” will work on both distribution and marketing services for artists and producers.
“We have spent the last 2 years building out this in-house team with BMG and developing a boutique & tailor-fitted framework for the label to ensure the success of our roster,” added Kautz. “43B will operate on an artist-friendly model, giving our artists and producers the means to flourish in their careers.”
Dykes added that the label will focus on “forward-thinking” and “innovative” ideas, which is fitting for an artist who fans recently claimed to be the most influential rapper from the 2010s.
Keef’s albums, Sorry 4 the Weight, Thot Breaker, and Mansion Musick, were all released through RBC Records which was later acquired by BMG.
Lil Gnar recently shared a new project titled Die Bout It, which includes a collaboration with Keef as well as features from Lil Keed, Tory Lanez, Lil Uzi Vert, Trippie Redd, and more.

Trouble Killed During Home Invasion Shooting
More details are emerging surrounding Trouble’s death.
The Atlanta rapper, whose real name was Mariel Semonte Orr, was shot and killed during a home invasion early Sunday (June 5) at Lake St. James Apartments in Conyers, about 25 miles east of Atlanta, according to a spokesperson for the Rockdale County Sheriff’s office.
