Fat Joe Recalls Becoming A Father At 19 As The “Scariest Moment Of My Life”
Fat Joe says that becoming a father at 19 years old was the “scariest moment” of his life. In honor of Father’s Day, Joe sat down with HipHopDX to discuss being a parent to his three kids. The New York rapper is a father to Ryan Cartagena, Joey Cartagena, and Azariah Cartagena.
“That was the scariest moment of my life, man,” he told the outlet. “It was. It was scary. I was just a kid myself. I had just got my record deal. I didn’t even have a song out. It was just really, really scary to be so young and have so much responsibility, so that was my initial response.”

Joe also discussed his son, Joey, who has autism, which he’s spoken out about in the past. He says that even without the condition, parenting is already a tremendous amount of work.
“Being a dad is, is real work and not just because Joey’s autistic,” he explained. “But my other kids, as well, like it’s really work. And you know, these kids, they all have different DNAs. They all have different attitudes. They all have what they think is right for them. My daughter just turned 16, so now I gotta start talking to her on another level. It’s tough.”
He added that he doesn’t plan on forcing music onto his kids. His second son is into the art form, but Joe doesn’t expect them to follow in his footsteps.
“My second son is into music, but I don’t think your kids gotta do exactly what you have done in life to be successful,” he said. “In fact, that’s like really, really extra pressure. You know what I mean? Cause your father’s supposedly a great artist. How you gonna follow up? So I don’t like them to have that type of pressure on them. My daughter wants to do media at Viacom or something like that. That’s what she wants. She can do it.”
In addition to his life as a father, Joe recently announced that he’d be bringing his talk show, The Fat Joe Show, to the network Starz. He’ll be joining 50 Cent as the only rappers in partnership to release shows for the network.

“Lightyear” Earns Lackluster $51 Million In Box Office Debut
Lightyear, the latest spin-off from Pixar’s Toy Story universe, has brought in just $51 million at the box office after launching at 4,255 North American theaters. The movie was expected to generate at least $70 million for Disney.
The highly anticipated film boasted a production budget of $200 million. It follows the origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the astronaut who inspired the action figure from the Toy Story films.

“This is a soft opening for a spinoff of one of the most successful animation series of all time,” David A. Gross, who runs the movie consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research, told Variety. “‘Toy Story’ defied gravity at the box office during its 27-year run, each episode topping the last, the last two clearing a billion dollars worldwide. But like all spinoffs, the ‘Lightyear’ story is narrower now.”
Lightyear stars Chris Evans in the lead role as Buzz Lightyear, replacing Tim Allen who plays the character in the rest of the franchise. Keke Palmer, Peter Sohn, James Brolin, Taika Waititi, Dale Soules, Uzo Aduba, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez, and Isiah Whitlock Jr. also appear in the film.
As for the rest of the films playing this weekend, Jurassic World Dominion remained at number one at the box office with $58.6 million in its second weekend, bringing its domestic total to $259 million. The figure represents a 60% decline from its debut. Top Gun: Maverick also continued to see success, raking up $44 million.

Ja Morant & Draymond Green Trade Shots Over Potential Grizzlies-Warriors Matchup
Ja Morant and Draymond Green traded shots on Twitter throughout the weekend and spoke about a potential matchup between the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day. The back and forth was sparked when Klay Thompson called out Jaren Jackson Jr. for a tweet about the Warriors during a press conference after winning the NBA Finals.
“There is this one player on the Grizzlies who Tweeted ‘strength in numbers’ after they beat us in the regular season and it pissed me off so much,” Thompson said, referring back to a tweet from Jaren Jackson Jr. “I can’t wait to retweet that thing. Frigging bum…”
The incident was taken to Twitter when Morant defended Jackson by saying that the Grizzlies are taking up free “real estate” in the Warriors’ minds.

“We traded that real estate in @JaMorant the property value was higher in Boston,” Green replied to Morant’s statement.
From there, a fan suggested that a Christmas Day matchup between the Grizzlies and Warriors is “all but guaranteed at this point.”
“Nah in da M. bring em to da trenches,” Morant said to the fan.
Green corrected him: “The champs play at home Young! Christmas Day… LJ.”
“Im coming to you then. tell em book dat shit. im on yo block,” Morant fired back.
The NBA typically doesn’t release its regular-season schedule until much later in the offseason. Christmas Day games often include an NBA Finals rematch, which would pit the Warriors against the Celtics, however, it’s not always the case.

Details regarding the incident are still being kept under wraps, but prosecutors Antonio Negro and Livia Orlando say that the women required medical care after the alleged attack.
They explained that “the woman was accompanied by the man” to Brindisi airport on Sunday and “was left there at dawn despite (her) precarious physical and psychological conditions.”
Airport staff and police found her in an “obvious confused state.”
Haggis is best known for writing 2004’s Million Dollar Baby and co-writing and directing 2004’s Crash, both of which gave Haggis Oscar awards.
In 2018, Haggis was sued by publicist Haleigh Breest, who alleged that he had raped her after a premiere in 2013. He has also been accused of sexual misconduct by three additional women.

Fat Joe Talks Becoming A Father At 19: ‘That Was The Scariest Moment Of My Life’
Hailey Bieber Says Stroke Recovery Is “Taking A Little Longer To Heal” Than Expected
Hailey Bieber says that it’s taking her longer to recover from her recent stroke than doctors originally anticipated. Beiber spoke with Byrdie this week about her health as well as her husband, Justin Bieber, and his ongoing battle with Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
“My body is taking a little longer to heal than they thought it would,” the 25-year-old model told the outlet. “After they did the heart procedure, I’m always the person who’s in a rush to get back to things, but this has taught me that it’s not physically possible sometimes.”

She added that pulling back on her usual exercise routine has been one of the most difficult parts of recovery: “I love fitness, so the last couple of months have been a little hard for me because it’s such an important part of my routine and day.”
Bieber had previously called the incident the “scariest moment” of her life, during an update video on Instagram. She had suffered a transient ischemic attack, also referred to as a mini-stroke, and had to undergo a PFO closure procedure for treatment.
Speaking with Byrdie, Bieber also spoke about Justin’s ongoing health issues surrounding Ramsay Hunt syndrome. The issue forced him to cancel shows on his 2022 Justice World Tour, earlier this month.
“He’s doing well, he’s getting better and better every day,” Bieber explained. “He’s going to be totally fine. This is just a really out of nowhere, weird situation. It takes time to heal from.”
