RayFace Needs ‘No Middle Man’ For A Boastful ‘UPROXX Sessions’ Performance

After highlighting Houston rappers like Erica Banks and KenTheMan, UPROXX Sessions once again plays host to a Space City spitter in RayFace, who stops through for a boastful performance of his 2020 single, “No Middle Man.”

An adherent of Houston’s long-held tradition of independently released music, RayFace founded his own record label, Self Made Music, while also running other businesses on the side. His self-released mixtapes include Underrated and Trapademic, from which he’s released a slew of self-funded music videos, including “Out The Trap” “Got To Have It” and “Tell Me Why,” the latter containing a feature from fellow self-made Houstonite Slim Thug.

Although he’s still a relative newcomer without the resources of a major-label artist, two of the videos he’s released this year have garnered over a million views on YouTube and his polished presentation suggests that he’s got all the tools he needs to build an even bigger buzz in the future.

UPROXX Sessions is Uproxx’s performance show featuring the hottest up-and-coming acts you should keep an eye on. These elements come together to create a truly unique shoe that is definitely going to get fans excited. Sure, they might be out there, but sometimes you want that in a basketball sneaker.

Ari Lennox Updates Fans Following Amsterdam Arrest

R&B singer Ari Lennox was arrested overseas this week at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, Netherlands. During her arrest, she tweeted that she was being detained for “reacting to a woman racially profiling” her, live-updating fans as the incident occurred. After she stopped tweeting, the Dutch police issued a statement on the singer’s arrest, saying “Our unit found a woman full of emotions, that wouldn’t calm down. That’s why she had to be taken into custody.”

Dutch police spokesman Robert van Kapel continued, “Dutch military police, who are responsible for security at Schiphol Airport, held Ari Lennox because of her aggressive behavior towards an airline official, and for being drunk in public. She threatened staff of an airline and security at the airport, and because of those threats, she is now interrogated.”

Lennox’s manager Justin LaMotte told her fans that she was safe following her arrest, but it was not clear if she had been given permission to head home. On Thursday, Lennox updated her social media feed for the first time in days, assuring fans that she’s alright.

“Hey loves I’m safe. Thank you so much for your prayers and love,” said the “Pressure” artist.

LeBron James Registers Negative COVID Test Amid Quarantine

LeBron James is one of the best players in the NBA, and when something happens to him, it is always a big deal. For instance, LeBron tested positive for COVID-19 this week and it was a massive story within NBA circles. The Lakers superstar is fully vaccinated, and his case serves as a reminder that breakthroughs can happen from time to time. Regardless, the NBA has no plans to treat LeBron any differently than they would someone else.

LeBron will now have to spend 10 days in quarantine, at the least. From there, he will need to deliver two negative COVID tests in a row before he can come back to the court. In a new report from Shams Charania of The Athletic, it was revealed that LeBron is already making progress on that front.

While speaking to Pat McAfee, Charania explained LeBron’s current predicament and revealed that the Lakers star had just tested negative for COVID and that as of right now, he is asymptomatic. Despite this, the NBA is still making him miss 10 days of action, and they will not be going back on this just because he is the biggest star in the league.

The league has been very strict in regards to their COVID policies, so this latest decision only seems to make sense. While LeBron might find it fishy, he’s just going to have to live with it.

Tierra Whack Is Back With Her New EP “Rap?”

Philadelphia rapper Tierra Whack has officially returned with her new three-song EP, titled Rap?, which includes her new single “Stand Up.”

The new project was announced earlier this week. It comes following the rapper’s announcement this summer that she was quitting music — clearly, that decision was premature and she’s still going strong.

Rap? starts off with the new single “Stand Up,” which is inspired by a conversation that Tierra had with JAY-Z about being the rap game’s Joker. “You come off happy but there’s a dark side,” allegedly explained JAY.

This is the first project from Tierra Whack since her 2018 release Whack World, which put her on the map with eclectic visuals. As fans are still begging the rapper to come through with a full-length release, Tierra blessed us with songs that are longer than one-minute-long this time around, which is pretty special considering how short her previous efforts have been.

Listen to Rap? below and let us know which song is your favorite.
