Tyra Banks Acknowledges Her “Fuller” Body On Her 48th Birthday

On Saturday, December 4th, Tyra Banks celebrated her 48th birthday, throwing on a sleek black bathing suit with a plunging neckline and floral pattern, tossing it up alongside a body-positive message up on Instagram to celebrate.

“It’s my BIRTHDAY!” the mother of one captured the sequence of selfies. “And every year this BODY of mine keeps changing. My body of work and my body ody ody,” she added, playing on Megan Thee Stallion’s hit song. “My body is fuller. And so is my mind. Happy Birthday to all my fellow Sagittarius out there. Here’s to growing together, in more ways than one.”

Kelly Cutrone, Kenya Moore, and Heidi Klum were just a few of the thousands who wished the Americas Next Top Model judge well last weekend. While sending their greetings, many fans praised the Inglewood-born star for normalizing different body types than the “perfect,” often fake and photoshopped ones we’ve become accustomed to seeing online.

“Thank you for sharing the important message that our bodies are changing which is normal,” one reply reads. “No matter your size you’re always beautiful,” another person chimed in, gassing the retired model up.

As she’s gotten older, Banks has seemed to embrace body positivity more and more. In 2019, she made headlines by coming out of retirement to pose for Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit issue, over two decades after she first graced the cover. “I am telling people that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and ages,” she said following the magazine’s release. “I have to put my money where my mouth is. I have to make sure my message is pure.”

Elsewhere, the 48-year-old has been keeping busy on the set of Dancing With the Stars, where she’s taken over as host. “Everything is built for her this season,” stylist Eric Archibald told Page Six Style, speaking on her iconic on-screen looks. “Tulles are dyed to match her skin tone. We do three or four fittings every week. Everything is [made custom] to her body.”

Page Kennedy is revving up to drop a new mixtape, and each single he’s unleashed has yet to disappoint. Page is an OG in the game with a wide reach to other influential figures. Earlier this year, he unveiled his project, Page, which boasted appearances from Elzhi, Method Man, among others. Now, he’s gearing up for Straight Bars 4 due out on Dec. 10th. Ahead of its release, he unloaded a brand new posse cut titled, “The Grand FInale 2021” ft.  The Game, Royce da 5’9, Ransom, Locksmith, KXNG Crooked, Grafh, 3D Natee & Mysonne.

Page explained that the record is a homage to Dr. Dre and D.O.C. “I made this song to commemorate Dr. Dre and The D.O.C. for them making my favorite posse track of all time,” said Page Kennedy in a statement. “For my gratitude, I wanted to try and make the most lyrical posse track in recent history by assembling The lyrical Avengers of Hip on this track.”

Foxy Brown Fires Back At Fans Reigniting Jay-Z Romance Rumors

For the better part of three decades, rumors have swirled about Jay-Z and Foxy Brown.

The two rappers collaborated on numerous occasions throughout the 90s, and Hov is credited with writing a handful of songs on Brown’s debut record, Ill Na Na. But as is customary with almost all male-female collaborations, fans speculated that Brown and Hov were more than just coworkers.

Back in 2019, Hov’s Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Damon Dash shut down a line of questioning from Nick Cannon about his relationship with Brown, and last year, Wendy Williams went out of her way to stir up speculation that the two had once been an item.

“I remember, right, when Foxy and Jay-Z had ‘I’ll Be,'” Williams said during an episode of The Wendy Williams Show. “Jay-Z was standing in the corner, ringing his hands talkin’a bout, ‘Okay, what do I do next?’ All that. This was allegedly a romantical thing. It’s alright…I’ll say ‘alleged,’ you know we know. Yeah, she hit it before Beyoncé. Allegedly!”

Despite dropping “allegedly” a couple of times, it was clear what Williams was trying to do then, and what fans are trying to do now.

Just days after Brown posted a birthday tribute for Hov on December 4, the “Get Me Home” rapper shared another throwback photo, and thanked Jay for the help he provided early in her career.

“Thank you Hovy for all the G that you taught me,” Brown wrote. “So my PEN be STUPID.”

While it seemed clear that Brown was speaking strictly about Jay’s help when it came to writing raps, fans took it an entirely difference direction. Immediately reigniting rumors of romance and incessantly name dropping Beyoncé, the response to the IG story was intense—so much so that Brown returned to Instagram to clear it all up.

“And I love B,” she wrote. “Hop off my d*ck.”

What do you think of Foxy Brown’s original post dedicated to Jay-Z and her response to fans bringing Beyoncé into it? Let us know down in the comments.

Issa Rae’s Artist NCognita Balances Her Career With School In Her ‘Nita Unfiltered’ Docuseries

It’s not always easy balancing work with school — especially if you’re a recording artist. While more and more artists attempt to complete their educational goals at the same time as their career ones, you might wonder: What does that balancing act actually look like? South Central LA rapper NCognita attempts to answer that question with her new docuseries, Nita Unfiltered. Kicking off today, its first episode follows her NCognita as she prepares to return to Loyola University New Orleans, talking it through with her family at home and describing the differences between LA and New Orleans.

Ncognita is just starting her career, but she’s already got a lot of weight behind her thanks to the co-sign of Insecure creator Issa Rae, who signed the young rapper to her label Raedio earlier this year after holding a competition for an invitation to a writing camp for the show’s final season. Issa Rae has been curating the soundtrack for Insecure all five seasons, leading to expanded work on the soundtracks for shows like 50 Cent’s Power and HBO’s Betty. Raedio previously partnered with Baby Tate to release her After The Rain EP as well, spawning the hit record “I Am” with Flo Milli.

So while Ncognita may not be a household name just yet, there’s a strong chance you’ll be hearing her in at least one of the places Issa Rae currently holds sway. Take the chance to get familiar now.

Joe Buck Hilariously Decimates Peyton Manning During MNF

ESPN has been changing things up this season when it comes to Monday Night Football, and fans are happy about it. After years of complaining about the Monday Night Football broadcast, ESPN has now created a live show centered around the Manning brothers reacting to the game. Eli and Peyton get to give their opinions on the MNF match all while having live guests on the show. It’s a formula that works and the chemistry is typically off the charts.

Yesterday, the brothers decided to invite Fox announcer Joe Buck onto the show, and it made for some spectacular television. Buck was cracking jokes the whole time and was giving a bit more of his personality, which we aren’t always used to seeing.

Eventually, this led to a hilarious moment in which Peyton Manning asked Buck if there was ever a time where he wanted to speak to a guest during a blowout game. Buck turned this around and said the last time he felt that way was the Super Bowl in which Manning and the Broncos were absolutely decimated by the Seattle Seahawks. It was a pretty funny joke, and it had Eli and Peyton cracking some smiles.

While that may have been the worst moment of Manning’s career, he can sleep well knowing just two years later, he got his revenge as he won the Super Bowl by taking down the 15-1 Carolina Panthers.

DJ Scholar Of Ruff Sqwad Has Reportedly Died

Ruff Sqwad’s DJ Scholar has passed away due to unknown causes, Complex UK reports. The Bow-born artist joined the crew in 2004, and was one of the originals that helped propel “the nascent grime sound into the future, influencing generations to come.” Some of their most popular work includes Guns N Roses Volumes 1 and 2, although Scholar also created a long-running Pyro Radio show adored by many members of the grime scene.

Jedah, a grime DJ and Balamii resident confirmed the tragic news with a tweet this afternoon. “I feel sick to the stomach. To find out my boy Scholar has passed away has destroyed me. Even recently I was speaking to him on the phone near enough every night till the late hours. I know he was fighting his demons and I did my best to keep him positive and not lose focus.”

Scholar’s family has not yet released a statement regarding their loss, but Jedah’s announcement has been the catalyst for more and more friends and fans to come forward, speaking on the impact the late creative had on them. “I used to run home from school to listen to ruff squad sets on deja vu. Them man are all legends to me. Rip DJ Scholar,” South London’s Youngs Teflon wrote.

According to Mix Mag, Ruff Sqwad was formed at a school in East London. At the time, they produced music on cheap home computers but because of their hard work and dedication to their craft, they continued to grow and got to a point where they landed daytime radio slots on Deja Vu and Rinse FM.

Freddie Gibbs Responds To Akademiks’ “Exposing” His Family

Freddie Gibbs and Akademiks’ beef couldn’t get any weirder. One guy streams on Twitch while the other is a reformed drug dealer who has a penchant for trolling. The two have gone back-and-forth for a minute now, though Ak threw up the white flag after his Instagram page was shut down. According to Akademiks, Freddie Gibbs was responsible for getting his account suspended.

During a recent appearance on Million Dollaz Worth Of Game with Wallo and Gillie, Akademiks leaped into his feud with Freddie Gibbs. Ak’s first L in this segment was attempting to compare Freddie Gibbs to Tekashi 6ix9ine. Perhaps, he believed the comparison to be true because he believes Freddie Gibbs “snitched” on him to Instagram, while his buddy literally testified in court.

However, Ak continued to question Gibbs’ alleged street ties with claims that members of his family had legal jobs. Ak said Freddie Gibbs’ father is a cop, a claim that the Gary, IN rapper confirmed long before his feud with the Internet personality. Then, Ak said Freddie Gibbs’ brother was a doctor — another fact that the SSS rapper has mentioned on social media and in interviews. However, the allegations that Freddie Gibbs’ other brother was a D.A. turned Ak’s rant into a game of “2 truths and a lie.”

Freddie Gibbs responded on Twitter earlier today, without any explicit mention of Akademiks. “I never had a brother that was a district attorney I wish I did though,” he tweeted.

No word from Akademiks yet but there’s a good chance we’ll hear a response during a drunken Twitch stream.
