Chloe Bailey Opens Up About Combating Internet Haters & Her Solo Career In New Interview

Being a worldwide superstar at the age of 23 isn’t easy – Chloe Bailey can attest to that. Today, November 2nd, the “Have Mercy” singer joined The Dotty Show on Apple Music to talk about everything from the debut of her solo career to her iconic performance at the MTV VMAs a few weeks back.

At the end of her performance, the Atlanta native made headlines for her sultry microphone lick (which even caught the attention of Gunna), although she says she “doesn’t remember” the iconic moment. During her chat today, Bailey revealed that she’s “proud” of the show that she put on that night.

“I am so proud of myself with that performance. I didn’t trip. God is good. I sang. I was like, woo. But I can’t wait for more, and to just keep upping my game, and perfecting my craft, and my performing, and my dancing, and all of that,” she told Apple Music.

It’s been some time since “Have Mercy” first hit streamers now, but when release date rolled around, Bailey said that she was “very nervous,” and that her team worked on edits for the track up until the very last second. “I didn’t know if people would like the rest of the song, if they felt it was over hyped on TikTok for so long, and it just didn’t live up to everyone’s expectations. I was nervous about all of that,” she shared.

As far as criticism online goes, the vocalist admitted that if she’s having a bad mental health day, harsh words can get the best of her. Luckily, she’s coming to terms with the fact that she can’t please everyone, and that’s okay.

“Say I did everything perfect, which no one else can, but say I did, still not everyone would like it. And I think that’s something that all of us as human beings have to realise. That we can’t please everybody, but as long as we please ourselves, then it’s all right,” Bailey told listeners.

It’s no secret that the 23-year-old has one of the best mentors in the game – Beyoncé. “I remember I was five years old in the stands watching her perform along with Missy Elliott and Alicia Keys, but I just remember seeing her and I’m like, that’s what I want to do,” she recalled.

“Without her I would not be here. She has inspired me. My family inspires me. My god-mum inspires me. There’s just so many incredible women in my life that remind me daily how I am special and how I should never settle for less.”

New Big Meech Prison Photo Surfaces

Ever since 2008 when Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory was sentenced to 30 years in prison, his legend as the Black Mafia Family co-founder continues to grow. There have been countless rappers who have name-dropped him in their songs in his absence, and he has received overwhelming support from his hip-hop peers.

On Nov. 1, a former fellow inmate of Big Meech posted a photo to Twitter of both of them posing while imprisoned. The man captioned the post: “Coming in contact with “A Living Legend” had a profound on my outlook at life. Free Big Meech, until next time Homie!”

There is currently a Starz television show produced by 50 Cent that details the turbulent story of the Black Mafia Family and Big Meech’s demise. Six of the eight total episodes have aired already, and 50 Cent even included Meech’s son Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. as the actor tasked with portraying his father.

Other notable cast members contributing to the show are Snoop Dogg, Kash Doll, La La Anthony and Serayah.

Last month, 50 Cent posted a photo to Instagram that included a message from Big Meech himself, thanking 50 for documenting his life to the public as he hoped to give his input on the third and fourth episodes of the show.

Big Meech is not expected to return from his prison stay until 2032, but his close friends and family are still telling his story from the outside.

Westside Gunn Pays Off Up-And-Coming Wrestler’s School Bills

It’s no secret that Westside Gunn loves wrestling.

Between a ton of appearances at professional wrestling events, stories about meeting Ric Flair, lawsuits for using wrestling audio in his music and a recent feud with Mr. T’s daughter, Gunn has always involved himself with the sport and just yesterday, the Eastside Buffalo rapper helped make an up-and-coming wrestler’s dreams come true.

When Alexis Littlefoot aka “Way 2 Flexy” tweeted that she was just $500 away from paying off wrestling school, Gunn jumped into action. Sending the final $500 to Littlefoot, Gunn included the message, “Pay that school off right now, we got work to do #4thRope,” and a screenshot of the CashApp payment.

Littlefoot responded with a great deal of gratitude, writing “Y’all I’m gonna go cry Gunn just paid my wrestling school balance. Never asked big homie for nothing. That’s true love and support right there. Omg.”

The Winchester, KY wrestler also revealed that she had considered giving up the sport last month, but that the kindness of her fans and followers, including Westside Gunn, have allowed her to continue pursuing her wrestling dreams. “I was going to quit wrestling school last month cause I couldn’t afford it,” Littlefoot wrote. “But thanks to my followers, friends and family for seeing me grind and supporting financially. I have never felt so blessed.”

Gunn’s generosity comes on the heels of a tumultuous couple of days for the rapper, which included one DJ saying that his catalogue doesn’t boast any classics, and multiple Twitter feuds with supposed fans. Fortunately, Gunn’s proclivity for social media worked out well in the case of Littlefoot and the last of her wrestling school bills.

What do you think of Westside Gunn paying off Littlefoot’s wrestling school? Let us know in the comments.

Alpo Martinez Allegedly Wore Halloween Mask To Conceal Identity Before He Was Killed

Alberto “Alpo” Martinez’s alleged final photos have been posted online by Popperazzi Po, who has previously claimed to be the infamous drug kingpin’s son. The Harlem-based drug dealer was killed in a drive-by shooting on Sunday morning, and he allegedly tried to conceal his identity before being shot by wearing a Halloween mask at a party.

The photos, posted by Popperazzi Po, seemingly show Martinez wearing a black hockey mask with a Louis Vuitton jacket and blue jeans. While Po seemingly confirms that the man in the pictures is his father, others are corroborating the claims, alleging that the man has similar eyes to the kingpin.

Martinez was reportedly killed after being shot in a car outside of a party after 3 am in Harlem. He managed to reportedly drive away from the scene of the shooting, but he allegedly crashed into a parked car and was declared dead shortly after.

“They Can Say What They Want But I Know What I Know And I Forgave You For Everything [Except] Leaving Me Here With This Hate Alone,” allegedly wrote Popperazzi Po on Instagram.

Take a look at the alleged last photos of Alpo Martinez below, and check out Rich Porter’s niece’s reaction to his death here.

Lil Gnar Drops “Skelly” With “Squid Game” Themed Visuals

With the ever-growing popularity of Netflix’s Squid Game (it was recently announced that Squid Game is the streaming platform’s biggest show ever) it was only a matter of time before someone incorporated elements of the show into their music or music videos.

Enter, Lil Gnar.

Accompanying his new single, “Skelly,” are visuals featuring the Atlanta rapper rocking the signature Squid Game uniform with a handful of armed guards dressed as Squid Game security.

“Skelly” itself does not involve Squid Game, however.

From the opening notes of the bass-heavy, trap instrumental, it is clear that “Skelly” is an ominous tale of what Lil Gnar has done, and will do, in pursuit of the money. “Skelly” is full of gun talk, with Gnar finding every way to say he keeps something him and he is more-than-prepared to use it. Rapping about whipping his wrist to get a Richard Mille, Gnar skates all over the “Skelly” instrumental and in an Instagram promoting the new track, the “No Regular” rapper promised that he’ll drop more music when the video hits a million views.

Quotable Lyrics
Big flame no Charmander
Young n***a out in Atlanta
Too turnt got no manners
Dissing us he dead
God got a double R on the redeye
Drive ghost don’t fly spirit
Next year I need ten million, huh

Check out Lil Gnar’s “Skelly” below and let us know what you think in the comments.

J. Cole Has Brief Exchange With Brittany Renner At Rolling Loud

Rapper J. Cole and influencer Brittany Renner crossed paths this weekend at Rolling Loud New York, but it appears as though the North Carolina native didn’t know exactly whom he was speaking with. Right after he got off stage from his headlining performance at the hip-hop festival this weekend, he was approached by Renner, who was seemingly conducting interviews backstage.

“Can we get an interview for Rolling Loud? No?” asked Renner as J. Cole walked by her in the backstage area. The rapper had a delayed reaction, but he eventually stopped and gave her a few seconds of his time.

“What’s up Rolling Loud? I appreciate y’all! Good night,” said Cole.

“You’re a f*cking legend, you know that, right?” asked Renner.

“I appreciate that, thank you. Appreciate that,” responded the rapper before walking away.

That was the extent of their conversation, but Renner said the moment was “legendary” for her.

This comes following her appearance on DJ Akademiks’ new podcast Off The Record this week, where she addressed a controversy that she “trapped” NBA baller PJ Washington after having a kid with him. They broke up shortly after she gave birth, but according to her, PJ was the one that wanted to have a baby.

Check out her exchange with J. Cole below, and let us know if you think Cole knew who she was.

MixedByAli Signee Malik Moses Drops New Single “Show Me Something” With Bas

MixedByAli has been an influential staple in hip-hop since the early 2010s. Helping to craft several smash hits throughout Kendrick Lamar’s career, as well as working with A$AP Rocky and Childish Gambino, MixedByAli is undeniably one of the rap game’s most important sound engineers.

With this platform, MixedByAli decided to create his own record label NoName Recordings, with the help of business partner Dan Maynard.

NoName is currently stationed in Tarzana, CA, utilizing the same studio headquarters first used by Death Row Records in the 1990s. With resources like these at his disposal, their first signed artist Malik Moses dropped the label’s first release “Show Me Something” featuring Dreamville’s Bas on Nov. 1.

Hailing from Baltimore, MD, Moses’ soulful singing voice and effortless bars provide a smooth atmosphere for the track. The song is produced by Groove, who has most notably worked with other Dreamville artists like J. Cole and EARTHGANG , as well as Smino and Saba.

Bas’ verse on the second half of the track comes after a harmonious bridge from Moses. He raps a prideful verse directed at a woman he was involved with, full of spite and regret for their current standing.

Laced with Malik Moses’ background vocals, Bas’ portion places a nice bow at the top of MixedByAli’s first gift to the world as a label executive.

Check out Malik Moses’ fresh track “Show Me Something” with Bas below.

Quotable Lyrics

Why do you need to know everything?
Makin’ me feel like I’m crazy
I ditched the weed for my lady
I ditched the keys and my ‘Cedes

A$AP Rocky & Andy Milonakis Linked Up For A Quick Cypher In New York

A$AP Rocky fans have been fiending for new music since the rapper dropped TESTING back in 2018. On November 1st, the “L$D” singer finally came through, although not in the way that we’d hoped. Recently, Rocky linked up with YouTube icon Andy Milonakis for a cypher in New York. The event was caught on camera, and has since spread around online like wildfire.

“Here’s a longer clip from last night when I did a cypher with ASAP Rocky,” the 45-year-old tweeted on the morning of November 1st, along with an over 2-minute video of the two stars verbally duking it out.

A$AP began the battle, and although his bars weren’t week, they definitely weren’t his best work. “Cuz I’m a doc, look at the clock/Look at the wrist, look at the rock,” the “Fashion Killa” said into the camera, later acknowledging that he had fallen off beat during his turn.

When it was Milonakis’ turn, he didn’t hesitate to come out swinging. “Ménage à trois, you’re too f*ckin boujee/Bitch, I’ll f*ck you in the jacuzzi/With you and your mother, she a floozy” he said, prompting the crowd to erupt into laughter.

The social media icon’s post received a reply from Juicy J, who wrote, “Lol watch your drink,” followed by some crying laughing emojis. The video has since been reposted on pages like XXL Magazine, prompting Milonakis to come up with a clever response.

“Thanks, I never got on XXL Freshman, hoping you make a XXL Senior contest someday,” he quote tweeted the rap outlet’s post.

Who do you think won in the cypher between A$AP Rocky and Andy Milonakis?

Dame Dash Says He Wants To Squash Jay-Z Beef After Hov Shouts Him Out In HOF Speech

During Jay-Z’s enshrinement into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland this weekend, The Blueprint rapper made a point to recognize Dame Dash and the role he played throughout his career.

Dash, who co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records with Hov back in the 90s, served as Jay’s manager and business partner before their relationship soured in the mid-2000s upon Def Jam’s purchase of Roc-A-Fella, and Jay becoming the president of the record label. Over the last two decades, Hov and Dame have taken numerous shots at each other and have engaged in one the most public business feuds in hip-hop history.

However, during Jay’s enshrinement speech, he couldn’t help but acknowledge Dame’s accomplishments and the successes they achieved with Roc-A-Fella.

“Shout out to Dame,” Jay said. “I know we don’t see eye-to-eye, but I can never erase your accomplishments. And I appreciate you and I thank you for that.”

Not to be outdone by the newest member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Dame told Page Six that he was appreciative of the shoutout, and that he’s ready to squash any beef he has with Jay-Z.

“It was beautiful … I’m glad he said it for the culture. We need to squash everything. So hopefully if that was an extended [olive branch] I’ll spin one back,” he said. “I have no beef with [him] if [he has] no beef with me … let’s get the lawyers out of it then. Let’s talk like men.”

Despite their most recent disagreement over selling the cover of Jay’s first studio album, Reasonable Doubt, as an NFT, Dame maintained that he and Hov have to move their problems out of court if they really want to repair their relationship.

“I would never want you to think that we have to go to the court to resolve anything … We can talk it out and the culture needs to see two strong black men working out a problem. Even if they worked together they can go their separate ways they can still be cool,” Dash told Page Six. “We should not be divided. We have accomplished too much to be beefing… There ain’t no way I’m never gonna [not] consider [him] my brother — it’s just that we don’t see eye-to-eye.”

Both parties have assured that their problems are business-related, and in responding to Jay-Z’s shout out, Dame nodded to his one-time business partner’s accomplishments in hip-hop.

“Whether we cool or not, him getting in the Hall of Fame is major. So congratulations to us, congratulations to him and thank you [to him] for keep working so hard to where he got to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” he said.

Do you think Hov and Dame will ever be able to truly squash their beef? Let us know in the comments.
