Snoop Dogg & Shaq Unite For “Nuthin But A G Thang” Performance

On Saturday, October 2nd, Snoop Dogg took the stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. During his set, Snoop Dogg made sure to highlight a few of his early classics — albeit with a massive twist, one that proved delightful to the fans in attendance.

For his rendition of Dr. Dre’s The Chronic single “Nuthin But A G Thang,” Snoop Dogg brought out Shaquille O’Neal to hold it down in lieu of the Good Doctor. Of course, Shaq is no stranger to spitting bars, having previously released music alongside The Notorious B.I.G, Twista, Method Man, DJ Quik, and more.

Rapping Dre’s verse without missing a step, a suited-up Shaq once again plays the wingman role alongside the veteran performer. His commanding baritone is a fitting substitute for Dre’s own, and though the days of Shaq Diesel and You Can’t Stop The Reign are long gone, it’s clear that he can still rise to the occasion when called upon.

And from the sound of it, Snoop Dogg was honored to share the stage with his pal. “I wanna do something real special right now,” he declared, ahead of this collaborative performance. “I wanna bring out somebody that means a lot to me. One of my dear friends who I feel like we got in at the same time. We been doing the same things lately and he’s the man of the night. So if you don’t mind, we gon’ do something special for y’all. Never before, never seen, Snoop Dogg and Shaq. Let’s go.”

Check out the performance below, which took place during The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation-hosted concert to benefit the  Boys & Girls Clubs. Do you think Shaq did Dr. Dre’s “G Thang” part justice?

Akon Doubles Down On Comment That Rich People Have More Problems Than Poor People

Akon recently came under fire for some comments he made where he claimed that rich people have more problems than poor people, and he’s refusing to walk back his remarks because, as he states in a new interview with TMZ, he’s speaking from personal experience.

Speaking about the passing of actor Michael K. Williams, Akon suggested that sometimes, rich people have even more problems than poor people. His comment was misunderstood by many, and it ended up offending some. Catching up with the media outlet again this weekend, Akon re-addressed his comments, explaining that his sentiment comes from personal experience as he has lived both worlds.

The 48-year-old artist doubled down on his controversial comments, saying, “Sometimes, when comments like that are made, like, me, I always speak according to what I’m personally going through myself. Nobody can sit there and tell me that I didn’t go through poverty. I was the young African kid barefooted playing soccer in a village with no electricity, no running water, I know what that felt like. And believe me, I know what poverty looks like. But I also know what success looks like. And from my personal experience, I’m having more problems successfully dealing with all that comes with success than I had when I was poor. I was actually happier when I was poor.”

Akon went on to say that he apologizes to those that were offended by his initial statements, claiming that he never meant to come off as arrogant, concluding with, “Money is not always the cure. There’s rich people right now committing suicide, dying over overdoses. It’s not the money, it’s the mindset. The money creates and breeds so much jealousy and envy, money brings about a lot of evil.”

Check out Akon’s new comments below and let us know what you think.

Russell Wilson Reacts To Breaking Massive Quarterback Record

Russell Wilson has consistently been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL over the last decade. He won a Super Bowl very early on in his career and while he hasn’t won one since there is no denying that he makes the Seahawks contenders year in and year out. Wilson’s teams typically finish the year off with a winning record, and it has allowed Wilson to enjoy one of the best records of any quarterback his age.

Last night, Wilson was playing against the San Francisco 49ers who are a divisional rival. In the end, the Seahawks came out on top, allowing Wilson to capture the 100th win of his career. As it turns out, this accomplishment was also huge because it broke an NFL record that puts him with the all-time greats.

Wilson is now the fastest player to reach the 100-win mark. He did it in just 10 seasons and four games, while the previous record holder Peyton Manning did it in 10 seasons and 10 games. This just goes to show that Wilson has remained incredibly consistent during his time in the league, and there is no doubt he will be in the Hall Of Fame when it is all said and done.

The QB reacted to the accomplishment on Twitter saying “JESUS… YOU get ALL the Glory!!!”

Wilson and the Seahawks are in tough this season as the NFC West is loaded with talent. Regardless, they have experience and sometimes that is all you need to get through a difficult season.

“Venom: Let There Be Carnage” Secures Massive Opening Weekend Numbers

It’s been a minute since the first Venom hit theaters, and while the film was slightly divisive on the critical side, it proved to be a major success on the commercial front. Now, the sequel — Venom: Let There Be Carnage — has officially hit theaters, and it would appear that it’s once again raking in the dough at a breakneck pace.

A report from Deadline indicates that the film, which stars Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson as Venom and Carnage respectively, has grossed a whopping $90 million in its opening weekend.

The impressive haul cements the sequel as having the highest-grossing opening weekend since the pandemic began in 2020, eking out Marvel’s Black Widow’s debut weekend of $80.8M. The report also notes that the sequel surpassed the original’s opening weekend, which totaled to $80.2M.

It should be noted that unlike many films released amidst the pandemic, Venom 2 was not made available on streaming services, leaving viewers with no option but to hit the theater. And that they did, much to the delight of Sony President Josh Greenstein. “For us, Venom: Let There Be Carnage absolutely validates our exclusive theatrical window strategy,” he states, to Deadline. “If you look at the history of theatrical, the obituaries have been written many times, and they’ve always been wrong. We had confidence in the theatrical experience, confidence in our big valuable IP, and took full advantage and had the patience to weather all of this.”

It will be interesting to see how Venom: Let There Be Carnage performs in the coming weeks — for those who hit the theater to catch the anticipated sequel, be sure to share your thoughts in the comments.

Bobby Shmurda Busts A Move & Provides Album Update

Bobby Shmurda really hasn’t released much new music since getting out of prison earlier this year, but he’s been keeping his momentum going, sharing new social videos every once in a while and promising to feed his fans when the time is right. For what it’s worth, there have been rumblings that Bobby’s rollout was halted by his record label, Epic Records, and although that much has not been confirmed, it continues to be a driving point of the conversation as to why Bobby hasn’t dropped yet. There were also rumors that Karen Civil was behind his rollout, and with all of the recent drama tied to her name, his return album might have been delayed.

Despite not many updates from the New York rapper, Bobby Shmurda has officially let his followers know that it’s almost go-time, sharing a video of himself and his friends dancing in the studio and revealing that his album is being mixed.

“Wen yu almost done mixing the album,” excitedly wrote Bobby on Instagram Stories, sticking his tongue out and busting a move.

While there hasn’t been much new music coming from the GS9 representative, he was part of the recent OVO x NBA collaboration, wearing the New York Knicks’ colors in the new modeling campaign.

Check out Bobby’s post below and let us know if you’re excited for him to drop.

Enes Kanter Goes Off On LeBron James For His Vaccine Takes

Enes Kanter is one of the more outspoken players in the NBA when it comes to political matters. He is currently facing repercussions in his native Turkey for the things he has said about Erdogan, and in America, he has been very vocal about other topics, including the COVID-19 vaccine. Just last week, Kanter ripped on other NBA stars who have been avoiding the vaccine, as he feels like they are completely missing the larger picture.

More recently, stars like LeBron James have admitted to taking the vaccine, all while stating that they aren’t going to encourage anyone to get it as health is a private matter.

Kanter is not a big fan of this approach, and he is letting people know. According to TMZ, Kanter recently went off on LeBron saying that the star should be using his platform to educate people. LeBron has a massive voice, and Kanter thinks he should use it, especially since LeBron typically doesn’t shy away from politics.

“LeBron James, he’s one of the faces of the league and he should be the first one to go out there and say, ‘Listen, everyone. I got the vaccine, and I’m encouraging everyone, my community, everyone, basketball fans, non-basketball fans and sports fans are just going out there and get this vaccine, so we can save other lives,'” Kanter said. “When I heard that, I just couldn’t believe it. But, I hope he can educate himself about this vaccination and inspire and encourage other people around him.”

With the NBA starting in just a few weeks, 95 percent of the league is vaccinated, and more players are starting to get the vaccine as they are quickly realizing that their availability could be put in jeopardy. Regardless, most people have made up their minds, and no amount of convincing is actually going to work barring some sort of life-altering event.

Kid Cudi Wears Dramatic Red Eye Makeup At Givenchy Fashion Show

Cardi B is presently trending because of the countless gorgeous looks she brought to Paris Fashion Week but this morning, she’s sharing the spotlight with Kid Cudi, who attended the Givenchy Womenswear Spring/Summer 2022 show and sported a brand new red hair color with matching eye makeup.

The Cleveland-born rapper has previously made headlines because of his outfit to the Met Gala this year, where Cudi wore bright green hair and dark black eye makeup. He continued his trend of wearing dramatic eyeshadow, donning a red look at the Givenchy show this weekend.

His fanbase has been divided in how they’ve been reacting to the look. While some are celebrating Cudi’s genderless stylistic expression, others are claiming that this look wasn’t all that.

“It’s not given what needs to be gave,” commented one person. “He finally being himself. That’s what’s he’s been battling all these years,” said another fan, praising the 37-year-old. “His eyes look so sad,” remarked another.

On the note of the final comment, Cudi recently revealed that for the first time in his life, he is finally happy. “Its taken me 37 years to say it but … I love my life,” he tweeted last month.

The rapper has also been teasing his upcoming single with JAY-Z, which was previewed in the Harder They Fall trailer.

Metro Boomin Teases “Not All Heroes Wear Capes 2”

Attentive fans likely knew this moment was coming. Atlanta legend Metro Boomin has been steadily active in the studio, having previously teased that he was working on some of the best music of his career.

As such, speculation ramped up that Metro was putting together a sophomoric studio album, which would mark his first since delivering Not All Heroes Wear Capes at the end of 2018. Now, Metro has all but confirmed that the sequel is on the way, taking to Twitter to spark hype with the classic “whiteboard” manoeuver.

Alongside a board lined with Savage Mode 2 song titles, another board featured several (partially concealed) song titles. Such visible titles include “Drunk,” “Popular,” “Don Toliver Song” “Brent/Swae” song, “Abracadabra,” “Far From Finished,” Foot or 2,” “Lonely,” and “Rocky.” And to think — after all this time, Metro Boomin and his fellow heroes have yet to pick up a cape.

Though he has yet to share a release date, it seems likely that Metro will share this one before the end of the year. It’s certainly on the way, and it will be exciting to see how Metro ultimately curates the guest appearances when the final tracklist drops. As of now, it would appear that Don Toliver, Brent Fayaiz, Swae Lee, and A$AP Rocky are slated in — though don’t be surprised if Metro makes several changes before the proper release date.

Check out the whiteboard below, and be sure to hit the comments with your dream collaborations for Not All Heroes Wear Capes 2. Do you still keep any tracks from the first Not All Heroes in rotation?

Damian Lillard Reveals His Pick For GOAT Basketball Player

Perhaps one of the most tired debates in all of basketball right now is who is better between Michael Jordan and LeBron James. This is a question that will yield wildly different answers depending on the generation that you are asking the question. As you can expect, the older fans out there will tell you that Michael Jordan is the best, while the younger viewers will say, LeBron James. You’re always going to choose who you grew up with, and it makes the conversation unproductive.

The best people to ask this question are actual professional basketball players, who know what it takes to win at the highest level. Recently, Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard was asked about the GOAT debate and who he thought the best player was. This led to a response that most fans could probably expect.

Lillard simply stated that the best of all time was “MJ” and you really can’t go wrong with such an answer. Perhaps Lillard is just a tad biased considering LeBron is a rival of his, but at the same time, there is no shame in being the second-best to ever do it.

Lillard would have seen glimpses of MJ play when he was younger, so it makes sense he would choose the Chicago Bulls legend. At the end of the day, MJ is widely considered to be better than LeBron, which makes picking James the contrarian viewpoint…and no one likes a contrarian.
