Jeezy & Gucci Mane Announce Tour With Rick Ross, Boosie, 2 Chainz, & More

We’re officially back outside, and there are plenty of concerts catching our attention as we seek a return to whatever normalcy we had before the pandemic. While we must remain cautious to protect ourselves by staying socially distant, wearing masks, avoiding crowds whenever possible, concerts and events are open again, and artists are taking advantage of the re-opening by announcing cross-country tours. Jeezy and Gucci Mane, who previously were each other’s biggest rivals, have officially announced that they’re hitting the road following their record-breaking Verzuz battle, and they’re taking some friends with them.

According to Hip Hop N More, the previously-announced Feed The Streetz tour has been rebranded as the Legendz of the Streetz tour, and it’s kicking off at the end of this month. Jeezy and Gucci Mane will be the main attractions on the tour, but they’re bringing some famous peers along with them, including Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Fabolous, Lil’ Kim, Trina (who was recently added), Boosie Badazz, and DJ Drama (as the tour’s DJ).

Kendrick Lamar Secures His Biggest Billboard Hit In 3 Years

Kendrick Lamar’s a strange beast, a rare sort of hip-hop artist that can be both intellectually stimulating while being a commercial juggernaut.

While it has been over three years since Kenny appeared on the Billboard charts, that’s not due to a lack of effort. On the contrary — there has actually been a scarcity of new Kendrick Lamar music, dating back to his 2017 studio album DAMN. Luckily, all signs point to his triumphant return. Not only did he confirm that his final TDE album was on the way, but that a wave of new flows are en route.

Though we don’t know when Kendrick’s album will be arriving, he already has some momentum in his favor. Thanks to a scene-stealing appearance on Baby Keem’s The Melodic Blue single “Family Ties,” Kendrick Lamar has returned to the Billboard charts in the eighteenth position. According to HipHopDX, the placement marks Keem’s first top 40 hit and Kendrick’s highest-charting Hot 100 track since Lil Wayne’s “Mona Lisa” in 2018.

It will certainly be interesting to see how the success of “Family Ties” translates into direct sales for Keem’s upcoming Melodic Blue project, but one thing is certain. The people want new Kendrick Lamar, and it wouldn’t be surprising if his comeback album emerges as the biggest rap album of the year.

In the meantime, look for Baby Keem’s The Melodic Blue to land on Friday. You can check out the full tracklist right here.

Lil Yachty Explains He’s The Reason Why Kid Cudi Is On Kanye West’s “Moon”

After the first DONDA listening session at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Lil Yachty (and hundreds of music fans) flooded TikTok with comments about Kanye West’s “Moon,” which features standout vocals from Don Toliver. They all heard Kid Cudi on the record, and they were trying to find a way to get the Cleveland-raised rapper onto “Moon.”

At the later listening sessions, the song was updated with Cudder, and apparently, Lil Yachty is to thank for his addition to the song.

During a Twitch stream, Lil Yachty revealed that it’s because of him that Kid Cudi was added to “Moon.” “I’ll tell y’all a true story,” said the A&R of the year. “I was on TikTok, right? When the first listening party happened, they took the excerpt from ‘Moon’ and they played it. Me and everyone in the comments was like, ‘Damn, man! Kid Cudi would sound great on this!’”

After the sound started gaining traction on TikTok, Lil Yachty texted Vory, who has some major contributions to DONDA. Vory proceeded to message Kanye West, and by the next listening party, Kid Cudi was added to the song.

“Y’all can thank me,” joked Lil Boat.

Kid Cudi also recorded vocals for “Remote Control,” but as you likely know, his verse was removed from the song. Young Thug remains featured on the final version.

Britney Spears Reminisces About Performing With Iggy Azalea While Thanking Her For Her Support

After Britney Spears spoke about her conservatorship in court this summer, many of her peers in music came forward with messages of support. That group includes Iggy Azalea, who collaborated with Spears on their 2015 single “Pretty Girls” and performed with her at at 2015 Billboard Music Awards. Now, in a new Instagram post, Spears reminisces about that performance and thanks Azalea for her support.

Sharing photos from the show, Spears wrote, “Me and Iggy on stage!!! It was so much fun working with such a strong, badass woman like her …. I haven’t met her new baby but if she’s reading this God bless you and thank you for all your kind words!!!! Pssss although the name of the song is Pretty Girls I think the concept is more like revenge of the NERDS !!!!”

In the comments, Azalea responded, “I absolutely adore you more than words (and I still have the barbies you gave me). Loving you always you brilliant, too-genius-for this-world-to-understand, kind hearted, gracious & beautifully ethereal being. We are definitely two big ole goofballs in the best way possible.”

Meanwhile, there has been a positive development on the #FreeBritney front: Spears’ father Jamie recently filed a petition to bring the years-long conservatorship to an end.

Lil Uzi Vert Previews Drake Collab From “Pink Tape”

At the end of August, Lil Uzi Vert gave a really promising update on his forthcoming third studio album The Pink Tape, and according to him, the highly anticipated follow-up to 2020’s Eternal Atake is currently going through the mixing process. Now, following his performance at the Made in America Music Festival, the Philadelphia rapper has offered an exciting preview of his new music.

According to OnSMASH, Lil Uzi Vert recently held a 2-hour live session on Instagram, during which he premiered multiple unreleased songs from The Pink Tape. It turns out that one of the songs he teased was actually a high-profile collaboration with the Certified Lover Boy himself, Drake.

The clip takes place in what looks like a private Dave & Busters-style arcade, and although you can’t see anyone in the video, you can hear some voices in the background. And while the audio quality of Uzi’s new song preview is understandably not the greatest, listeners can still make out Drizzy and Uzi’s distinct flows on the track. According to Genius, the song is tentatively titled “Balmain Like All-White.”

You can hear the one-minute snippet of Lil Uzi Vert and Drake’s snippet from Uzi’s highly anticipated The Pink Tape below.

How do you feel about the snippet? Are you looking forward to its official release?
