Dom Kennedy Readies The Release Of “From The Westside With Love Three” Next Month

A decade after receiving the second installment of his series, Dom Kennedy returns. The Los Angeles native has been making waves in the industry since the late 2000s and in 2010, he dropped his fourth mixtape, From the Westside with Love. It would take another year before From the Westside with Love II would arrive—an album that served as Kennedy’s official studio debut—and now it is time for the West Coast spitter to deliver another project.

On Tuesday (September 28), Kennedy announced From the Westside with Love Three and revealed when the world could expect to receive the anticipated effort.

CL’s Swaggering New Single ‘Lover Like Me’ Closes The Door On A Past Relationship

CL is one of the most OG artists in the K-Pop sphere, racking up attention and accolades as a global force long before BTS hit the scene. Born Lee Chae-rin, the South Korean rapper and pop star is finally back and gearing up to release her debut studio album, Alpha. After a lengthy hiatus, she returned earlier this year, first with a touching recollection of her late mother for the sweet tribute “Wish You Were Here,” and then with the ferocious new single “Spicy.”

That single introduced her album, Alpha, which was originally slated for release last but was pushed to this year, and it’s a return to form her CL recalling her past work like “Hello Bitches” and “The Baddest Female.” Tonight, she’s shared another new cut off Alpha, which falls somewhere between sweet and spicy. “Lover Like Me” has the braggadocio of “Spicy” but it’s undercut with some of the softness of her pop sound. That softness doesn’t stop her from going into full-on rap mode for a Nicki-level verse toward the end of the track, though. Check out the new song above and look for more updates on the quickly-approaching Alpha — it’s shaping up to be one of the year’s most important releases.

Ne-Yo Praises Ex Monyetta Shaw’s Engagement: “Fly Sh*t Happy Sh*t”

We don’t often see celebrities displaying healthy co-parenting relationships and blended families, but Ne-Yo and Monyetta Shaw are showing that it is possible to be happy for your ex. Prior to marrying his wife Crystal Renay, Ne-Yo was in a long-term relationship with Shaw. The pair lived together, got engaged, and even welcomed two children, but before they were able to jump the broom, they decided to go their separate ways.

The award-winning singer has been married to Crystal since 2016 and despite having a slight hiccup where they announced their divorce just ahead of the COVID-19 quarantine in 2020, they’ve reconciled. Earlier this year, Ne-Yo and Crystal welcomed their third child together.

In the comments, Ne-Yo made sure to shout out his support. “FLY SH*T HAPPY SH*T,” the singer wrote. “So happy for you guys!!!!!” People praised their level of encouragement and support for one another. Check it out below.

Lil Peep’s Mother Accuses Label Of Failing to Pay $4 Million Owed To Estate: Report

Since his death in 2017, Lil Peep’s loved ones, as well as his fans, have been honoring his legacy. Whether it is with posthumous work or charitable efforts, the rising rapper’s name has continued to flourish. Yet, there are still controversies that plague him, including a pending lawsuit over a track and now, his mother has come forward with complaints about his record label.

Rolling Stone reports that Peep’s mother Liza Womack has made claims about First Access Entertainment, alleging that they have been refusing to cough up $4 million reportedly “owed to his estate.”

She also has a “wrongful death and business lawsuit against” the record label, but First Access is refuting her accusations. During a hearing earlier today (September 28), the label not only denied the claims but also stated that Womack is responsible “for any delay.”

“FAE is trying to choke off her funds by denying her her the royalty revenue that they know she’s owed,” Womack’s lawyer, Paul A. Matiasic, reportedly told RS. He added that the court needs to step in and help make decisions to move forward because Womack and First Access have a “dysfunctional” relationship that is in dire need of some form of mediation.

However, John W. Amber, First Access’s attorney, disagrees. “It’s not true that it’s dysfunctional,” he reportedly told a judge. “It also is not true that FAE owes the estate over $4 million. That’s simply not true. That’s just an argument used to gain someone’s sympathy here.”

Lil Peep’s Mother Claims Her Late Son’s Record Label Owes Her $4 Million

Lil Peep’s mother, Liza Womack, and her late son’s record label have long been entwined in a legal battle, and while it’s yet to have been resolved, Womack delivered another accusation against them. According to Rolling Stone the late rapper’s mother says First Access Entertainment owes $4 million to Peep’s estate and claims their failure to give her the money is a “transparent” attempt to derail the wrongful death and business lawsuit that was filed against the FAE and its boss. FAE denied the allegations at a court hearing on Tuesday and claimed Peep’s mother was to blame for the delay.

“FAE is trying to choke off her funds by denying her her royalty revenue that they know she’s owed,” Womack’s lawyer Paul A. Matiasic said during Tuesday’s court hearing. Matiasic adds that the $4 million owed to his client is royalty payments from Peep’s music that FAE allegedly “admitted” it owes to his estate. He also labeled the relationship between his client and FAE as “dysfunctional” and requested a court’s intervention in the matter.

“It’s not true that it’s dysfunctional,” FAE’s lawyer John W. Amberg said in court. “It also is not true that FAE owes the estate over $4 million. That’s simply not true. That’s just an argument used to gain someone’s sympathy here.”

The accusation against FAE comes four months after Womack revealed she suffered two strokes since the tragic death of her son at the end of 2017. “I am not going to die until I take care of this matter,” she said at the time in regards to wrongful death lawsuit. “I’m going to live. I have a mission.”

Kodak Black Supports “#SoberChallenge Before Milk Crates,” Speaks Up About Addiction

Giving back to the community and leading by example are important qualities to Kodak Black. Despite the rapper’s legal troubles and scandals, Kodak has been a leading force in his city, often donating money, buying items for underserved communities, and gifting children with presents during the holiday season. His attorney and good friend Bradford Cohen is always by his side, and on the lawyer’s Instagram, he detailed Kodak’s latest effort.

Although Cohen uploaded a video of the rapper in a courthouse, there isn’t any sound to the clip. However, Cohen penned the purpose of Kodak’s appearance.

“Kodak speaks to a Broward Court room of individuals dealing with addiction problems. He speaks about his own battles and issues and the things he feels are important to a sober life,” wrote Cohen. “I believe this is all part of the process or healing. There are misteps along the way, but people should always realize that the first step is wanting to get better.”

Then, Cohen took aim at social media challenges that clutter our news feeds and offered one of his own. “Our community should embrace a #soberchallenge before some milk crates….realize what is important in your life, its not social media.”

Ray J Wipes IG Clean & Declares He’s “Separated & Single”

From the looks of his Instagram Story, Ray J is living the good life in Miami. Back in February, the multi-hyphenate entertainer revealed that he and his wife, Princess Love, were making the move from Los Angeles to the Sunshine State, so it does not come as a surprise that he surfaced in the city. However, there are more changes being made in Ray’s life other than his address.

Whenever an artist is ready to make a major announcement, they are known to wipe their Instagram pages clean. Ray J is the latest to clear out  his IG, but it was his bio that captured attention.

“Separated and single,” he wrote. Those three simple words raised eyebrows, as the ups and downs of the reality star mogul’s relationship have been detailed for years. Ray J and Princess first introduced their romance on Love & Hip Hop Hollywood, and their subsequent make-ups to break-ups have taken over blogs and headlines.

There were times when both Ray and Princess filed for divorce, but both decided to retract their petitions and move forward with reconciliation. We’re not sure if they will once again decide to work things out, but for now, it seems as if the relationship has ended. Ray J has since deleted his bio and his Instagram remains blank.

Ashanti Celebrates The Opportunity To Re-Record Her Self-Titled Debut Album: ‘It’s So Surreal’

Soon, Ashanti will find herself joining a list of artists that includes Taylor Swift and JoJo. The Grammy-winning singer recently announced plans to re-record her self-titled album ahead of its upcoming 20th anniversary. She revealed the news during an appearance on the Tamron Hall Show, where she also shared that she now owns the masters to the 2002 album.

“It’s so surreal,” Ashanti said while celebrating the news. “I have an amazing legal team, and I got my first record deal when I was 14 years old, so understanding and seeing how things have changed so much from then to now and conceptually understanding what you’re signing is so imperative, it’s so important nowadays. The fact that I’ll be able to re-record my first album, and put everything together.”

She continued, “It’s so humbling. It is such an honor. I’m so grateful. It’s such a blessing, you know, the fact that we are still here, we’re living through a pandemic, and these blessings are still coming in, it just makes me so happy again, so humbled and such a believer.” Ashanti concluded, “It’s such a blessing, you know, the fact that we are still here, we’re living through a pandemic, and these blessings are still coming in, it just makes me so happy again, so humbled and such a believer.”

The news comes after she made a surprise appearance during Fat Joe and Ja Rule’s Verzuz battle earlier this month. It marked the second time she was on the series, having previously gone up against Keyshia Cole earlier this year.

NLE Choppa Makes Public Plea To Billie Eilish For Sample Clearance

As he continues to promote healthier ways of living, NLE Choppa is still making music moves. We’ve consistently reported on Choppa’s dealings outside of the industry as he launches new businesses and efforts. Whether he is advocating for veganism or holistic techniques, NLE Choppa has been boldly speaking about his lifestyle and encouraging others to follow suit.

However, that does not mean that he has shirked away from his music career. On Twitter, Choppa sent out an S.O.S. to Billie Eilish in an effort to get the superstar singer to lend him a helping hand.

“Sincerely @billieeilish I have a song with your sample on it that your team won’t clear,” he tweeted. “I’d love to send you herbs or whatever in exchange to getting the record cleared. Please beautiful soul [purple heart emoji].”

This is a common problem in the industry and just last month, Lil Tjay took to the internet to issue a similar public plea to Giveon. The rapper uploaded a song to YouTube in memorial of his friend who was killed, but it was quickly taken down because it sampled Giveon’s track. Tjay attempted to get it cleared but said he was denied.

No word if Eilish will help Choppa, but we’ll keep you updated if anything changes.

Later, Jones surfaced on social media to say that he would be making some life changes. Over on his Instagram Story, he shared an image of himself working out and made a few statements in text over the photo.
