Notorious B.I.G.’s Brooklyn Apartment For Sale At $1.7Mil: Report

A lucky homeowner will have the opportunity to move into a piece of Hip Hop history. Back in the 1990s, Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace was married to Faith Evans and they were enjoying their wedded bliss at their Fort Greene, Brooklyn home. This is the apartment where Biggie lived while crafting his classic Ready to Die debut studio album, and now its current owner, a famed costume designer named Caroline Duncan, is ready to sell.

The New York Post featured the New York City duplex that boasts two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a custom library, walk-trough closets, a chef’s kitchen, 12-foot ceilings, a large loft space, and several upgrades after Duncan renovated much of the space.

Duncan told the outlet that after buying the property in 2011, she gutted it out and gave the home a makeover from top to bottom.

“When I moved in, the basement was just a raw space with concrete floors,” she said. “I framed and put up all the walls and created a bathroom with barn wood and modern finishes, a massive walk-through closet to showcase my collection of clothing and accessories, a laundry room and bedrooms.”

“Upstairs had been carved into a series of puzzling small rooms so I did the opposite, and knocked down all the walls to create a lofted open space,” she added. “I loved the neighborhood, the proximity to Fort Greene Park, the fact that the building is on the Historic Register and had the bones of a true artist’s residence.”

The space currently rents for $4,000 per month and is just blocks away from Christopher ‘Notorious B.I.G.’ Wallace Way. The selling price is $1.7 million.

Polo G Released From Jail, Returns To Court Next Year: Report

After spending an uncomfortable night in the county jail, Polo G is a free man. For the second time this year, the rapper found himself on the wrong side of the law after being pulled over by police. Back in June, Polo and his entourage were stopped by authorities in Miami and he was taken into custody, and yesterday (September 7) it seemed as if he was reliving that moment, this time in Downtown Los Angeles.

We previously reported on the news that Polo G was detained with a “male juvenile” after officers found firearms in their vehicle. The rapper reportedly was not the person driving the vehicle.

Billboard has offered an update to this story earlier today. It seems that Polo was released on a $35K bond and while it is unknown why the Los Angeles Police Department’s officers pulled over the vehicle he was riding in, the rapper was arrested on concealed weapon charges after two guns were allegedly located.

The Hall of Fame hitmaker nor his attorney have issued a statement about the arrest at this time. It is reported that Polo G will face a judge regarding this most recent incident at his next court date on January 6, 2022.

North West Roasts Kim Kardashion For “Talking Different” When She Records Videos

Earlier this summer, Kim Kardashian posted a video to her Instagram story in which she was promoting Olivia Rodrigo’s debut studio album SOUR. What would’ve been a regular promotional video turned into a hilarious off-guard moment, in which Kim and Kanye’s eldest child, North West, was caught on camera making fun of Kim.

According to North West, Kim was lying to her followers when telling them that she listened to Olivia Rodrigo’s “drivers license.” The entire moment was a funny reminder that North shares some of Kanye’s most notable mannerisms, and now, several months later, North West is back at it again.

In a new story post, Kim is about to record a promotional video for another brand, but before she can even get started, North roasts her for talking different whenever she gets on social media. As Kim approaches a care package filled with beauty products, North jokingly asks her, “Why do you talk different?”

Kim responds to North, saying, “Why do I talk like what? For my videos, I’m the same human being. I don’t talk different. How do I talk different?”

North West then rips Kim to shreds by mocking her, and in an overexaggerated tone of voice, she says, “Guys! So today I got this new mask! And this new bronzer!”

Young Money Crowns Nicki Minaj The First & Only “Queen Of Rap”

In addition to the long-running GOAT debate, another title that the Hip-Hop community can’t seem to ever agree upon is which female rapper deserves to be crowned the Queen of Rap. Over the last few decades, artists like Lil’ Kim, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi B have often been some of the most popular names mentioned in that debate, and recently, rising artists like Erica Banks have even entered their own names into the conversation.

According to Young Money’s official Twitter account, however, the answer is simple: Nicki Minaj.

Rather than comparing her lyrical prowess to other talented femcees, Young Money instead argues that Nicki automatically earns the title because the term “‘Queen of Rap’ didn’t even exist until” she went on her game-changing run in the music industry.

“The title of “Queen of Rap” didn’t even exist until @NICKIMINAJ did the tingz that she did,” the record label’s official Twitter account wrote. “And the Queen ain’t done yet. Get on ya knees.”

What do you think about Young Money’s proclamation that Nicki Minaj is indeed the Queen of Rap? Are there any other female rappers who you think are more deserving of that title?

Gorillaz And AJ Tracey Give A Post-Apocalyptic Performance Of ‘Jimmy Jimmy’ On ‘The Tonight Show’

Gorillaz help introduce British rapper AJ Tracey in one of the most fitting song choices for a US debut as they drop by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform the song “Jimmy Jimmy” from their new EP, Meanwhile.

“Jimmy Jimmy” is built around a sample of the 1979 punk hit by Northern Ireland band The Undertones, with Gorillaz’s low-fi interpolation making the song song eerie and ominous. The pre-recorded performance reproduces the post-apocalyptic aesthetic of the EP’s visual components, taking place at an apartment building in front of a brooding sky. Tracey appears throughout, delivering his raps directly to the camera as the saturation levels wobble in and out of control.

Gorillaz, meanwhile, are set to appear on an upcoming collaborative album from Elton John titled The Lockdown Sessions, while Damon Albarn has said that he’s working on a scripted film featuring his cartoon band. “We signed contracts, we’ve begun scripts and stuff,” he explained. ” I see a lot of people doing animated videos these days but I don’t think they really touch the quality of ours. We’re more in the world of Studio Ghibli.”
