Kim Kardashian Hit With Cease & Desist Over “SKKN” Brand: Report

As her estranged husband puts the finishing touches on DONDA while living in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Kim Kardashian is facing a new set of legal issues. Recently, Kardashian revealed that her KKW beauty line would undergo rebranding, and later, the reality mogul revealed SKKN. All seemed to be moving along for Kardashian and her team, that is until they were reportedly hit with a cease and desist letter from Beauty Concepts LLC who claim they’ve been using the name since 2017.

According to TMZ, the company reportedly has provided “salon and skincare services” under the name SKKN+, as well as having a website and social media with the name.

They also accuse Kardashian of using the “same block letter” as their logo for her new brand, and back in March, they filed an application “with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office back in March to register the SKKN+ logo.” While it all seems rather cut and dry, Kardashian’s attorney Michael G. Rhodes says otherwise.

“We certainly appreciate and support small businesses, and our hat is off to Ms. Lunsford. But the question at hand is one of trademark law and we’ve not done anything deserving of legal action by her,” he said. “We are disappointed that she has chosen to run to the media knowing that we were scheduling a call for tomorrow, requested by her attorney. So while disagreeing with the letter, we’re hopeful that we can smooth things over once both sides speak.”

Kardashian has already acquired the “SKKN.com” website as well as her own social media handles, and Beauty Concepts claims that her including “By Kim” doesn’t differentiate the brands enough. If things aren’t settled, Beauty Concepts has threatened to take Kardashian to court.

Lady Gaga And Adam Driver Do Their Best Italian Accents In The Trailer For ‘House Of Gucci’

Thursday was a big day for House of Gucci, the forthcoming fashionista drama and one of two Ridley Scott films due before year’s end. Earlier, social media lost it over the new posters, specifically the one where Jared Leto once again looks nothing like Jared Leto. Later in the day people got to see him in action, in the first official trailer, which milks one of the couture world’s wildest true tales.

The film finds Lady Gaga belatedly following up A Star is Born, which took someone who was already a Golden Globe-winning thespian next level as an actress. She plays Partrizia Reggiani, the woman infamous for (spoiler alert, sort of) ordering the murder of her husband, fashion magnate Maurizio Gucci, played by Adam Driver.

That grim conclusion is buried in a trailer, which is still chock-full of high fashion melodrama, flaring egos, thrown-about wealth, and amazing ‘80s fashions. Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” gets a slightly slower, moodier cover, as is the style of the time, over top images of comfy sweaters, Lamborghinis, and lots of broad Italian accents.

You also get to see the actors, already made instantly amusing in the poster wing of the ad campaign, in action. Leto, who plays Gucci family member Paolo, looks pretty comfortable in his bald patch and giant mustache, though the trailer is pretty skimpy on howling Al Pacino action. (He plays the family patriarch, also named Maurizio, who was also a screen actor.)

House of Gucci hits theaters on November 24. Meanwhile, Scott’s other 2021 release — The Last Duel, reuniting Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, as well as Driver, again — will be released a mere month and change earlier, on October 21.

You can watch the trailer in the video above.

Willow Smiths Calls Mental Heath “Fragile,” Says She Felt “Unsafe” In Music Career

Naomi Osaka and Simone Biles have been sports icons who have spoken out candidly about mental health, and the conversation has divided the public. People like Piers Morgan, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and thousands of others have taken to social media to chastise the women for opting to bow out of their competitions while supporters including Will Smith and Justin Bieber have praised the ladies for prioritizing their mental health.

Willow Smith recently chatted with Yungblud about the topic on The YUNGBLUD Podcast and how it has affected artists in the music industry. The celebrity spawn shared that she lived with fear for a long time. “I felt extremely unsafe in my music career in the past and that feeling of insecurity or unsafety like I didn’t feel protected, which went really deep.”

She also admitted that many of her “memories and emotions have just been resurfacing.” Willow recalled her Jimmy Fallon performance being a triggering moment. “I had like a flashback of being like ten or nine and having like an anxiety attack on set and basically feeling like everyone around me was like ‘You’re just a brat,'” she said. ‘Why aren’t you grateful?'”

“They didn’t see it as an anxiety attack, they saw it as a tantrum. Now, I look back and know it was an anxiety attack. [I] tell myself that, ‘You’re not nine, you’re a grown-ass woman.’ I have to retrain my mind,” Willow added. “My mental health is in a very fragile state, but I think it’s in a state where it’s about to grow in a really awesome way.”

Skip Bayless Turns To Playground Insults After Russell Westbrook Trade

Skip Bayless’ hatred for LeBron James has always been on another level. In fact, Bayless has proven himself to be a cartoonishly evil character that finds any way to laugh and discredit LeBron’s accomplishments. Skip’s entire persona is made specifically for the camera and there is no doubt that it brings in ratings. Whether or not this persona actually contributes to productive basketball conversations, is a completely different conversation.

Today, Skip had a whole new reason to rain on LeBron’s parade as the Lakers traded for Russell Westbrook. Russ is another player that Skip has had problems with, and while taking to Twitter, Bayless explained why the trade is horrible for LeBron and the Lakers.

“LeBron James is still the best passer in basketball. Lakers are best when he’s playing PG, initiating the offense,” Bayless began. “And now they’ve added RUSSELL WESTBROOK? I realize LeBron needs to surround himself with all the stars (and help) he can get – BUT NOT THIS STAR. Desperate disaster.” Bayless went on to continue his rant by claiming that Westbrook will be a good player at first, although once the playoffs come around, he will revert back to a ball hog.

Bayless continued to rant even more as he called Russ and LeBron “Westbrick and LeBrick.” Needless to say, Bayless was given plenty of fodder to work with tonight, and he won’t be letting up when the season starts.

Marvel’s “What If…?” Series May Be Connected To The MCU Multiverse

Keeping in line with the theme of connective tissue between different shows and films across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a new preview for Marvel’s upcoming What If…? indicates that the animated show follows the universe-shattering events that took place at the end of Loki’s season 1 finale. Marvel’s first animated show on the Disney+ platform is set to premiere on August 11th, with a weekly episode format that the studio has become accustomed to in the releases of its first three shows, which are direct offshoots and are centered around characters from previous films in the MCU.

Spoilers ahead for the season 1 finale of Loki.

At the end of the final episode of the first season of the breakout hit show Loki, the Sylvie character puts a blade to the chest of Jonathan Majors’ He Who Remains character, effectively breaking the cycle of harmony his character has established with The Sacred Timeline and breaking open the multiverse in the MCU. What If…? is set to explore different iconic events throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe through the animated lens of The Watcher character, only this time switching around characters to create new stories. For example, Black Panther‘s T’Challa – voiced by Chadwick Boseman in his final performance of the character – will appear in an episode centered around him being picked up and raised by the Ravagers from Guardians of the Galaxy as opposed to the Star-Lord character played by actor Chris Pratt from the films.

“A multiverse of infinite possibilities awaits,” the show account’s caption reads, implying that the events the viewers are witnessing are happening in different multiverses separate from the one we’ve seen in the live action films so far.

There hasn’t been any confirmation just yet from Marvel Studios or head executive Kevin Feige that What If…? is canon or directly connected to the overall MCU, but the pieces are coming together as online rumors are starting to spread that certain characters from the animated series will appear in live-action form in future MCU films.

Marvel has also shared a character poster for The Watcher, who is voiced by veteran actor Jeffrey Wright. Check out the poster below.

What do you think about What If…?‘s implications for the overall MCU? Are you excited for the show to premiere? Let us know in the comments below.

Madonna Says People Like DaBaby Are Why “We Are Still Living In A World Divided By Fear”

His Rolling Loud fallout has already garnered reactions from his Hip Hop peers as well as legends like Elton John, and now Pop Culture icon Madonna has added her voice to the conversation. DaBaby’s remarks about HIV/AIDS, the gay community, in addition to his haphazard apologies, have caused the rapper to receive an onslaught of backlash from all sides. Yet, DaBaby has repeatedly stated that his soul isn’t for sale and he has doubled down on having the freedom to say what he pleases, regardless of the outcome.

His responses have reportedly caused brands to part ways with the rapper, including BoohooMAN and reportedly, festivals are reevaluating his participation. On Thursday (July 29), it seemed as if the dust had settled but Madonna thought it was a good idea to kick things back up with a lengthy post directed toward the North Carolina artist.

“A message to DaBaby – if you’re going to make hateful remarks to the LGBTQ+ community about HIV/AIDS then know your facts,” the singer wrote. “After decades of hard won scientific research— there are life saving medicines available to children born with HIV, to people who contract HIV through blood transfusions, dirty needles or exchange of bodily fluids.”‘

“I want to put my cellphone lighter up and pray for your ignorance, No one dies of AIDS in 2 or 3 weeks anymore. Thank God [praying hands emoji],” she added. “And your sexist remarks about Ladies who’s pussies need to smell like water only encourage more discrimination against women who fight daily against the oppression of living under the constraints of the Male Gaze.”

Madonna said that DaBaby is the reason “we are still living in a world divided by fear.” She believes that “all Human beings should be treated with dignity and respect regardless of race, gender, sexual preference or religious beliefs.” Madonna also made sure to tag him in the post. Thunder Looking To Trade Kemba Walker: Report

During his time with the Charlotte Hornets, Kemba Walker was a phenomenal point guard who actually gave the team a fighting chance to win. Back in 2019, the Hornets opted to not give him the supermax deal, which allowed Walker to leave and sign with the Boston Celtics. After a couple of years of frustration, Walker found himself on a brand new team in the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Immediately after this deal was made, there were rumblings that the Thunder would trade Walker again as they wanted to continue their draft pick haul. Eventually, the rumors died down as the NBA playoffs marched on, never to be heard of again, until now.

According to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, Kemba Walker is reportedly on the trading market. Walker is owed upwards of $73 million over just two seasons and under the current climate, this is just too much for the Thunder to take on. The team is more concerned with building through the draft, and Walker simply isn’t part of that future.

Walker is a player who could definitely do damage on multiple teams, however, he might not end up on a contender anytime soon, as most of them already have superstar point guards.

Stay tuned to HNHH as we will bring you the latest updates from around the NBA.

Drake, LeBron James, And More Team Up For A Documentary That Follows The Journey Of Black Hockey Players

Drake will join forces with LeBron James, Maverick Carter, and Adel “Future” Nur to executive produce a new documentary about the experiences of Black hockey players in both Canada and The United States. Titled Black Ice, it will also be directed by Oscar nominee Hubert Davis and it will explore, as per a press release, “the history, influence and racialized journey of Black hockey players” in addition to their dealings with systemic racism.

A number of Black players who participated in the sport’s Colored Hockey League — from Canada’s Maritimes all the way to today’s NHL — will be highlighted in the documentary. In a statement about Black Ice, Davis shared his feelings about the film and what he took away from it.

“I was not only surprised but inspired to learn about the stories of the often overlooked and unheralded Black pioneers of hockey,” Davis said, according to Complex. “I think it is more important than ever before for all generations, particularly young people of colour, to understand and see the diverse faces who have contributed and shaped one the essential fabrics of our country.”

Black Ice is the result of a partnership between Uninterrupted Canada and The SpringHill Company, which was founded by James and Carter. The company is also responsible for Space Jam: A New Legacy, More Than A Game, and The Carter Effect. A release date for Black Ice has not yet been shared.

Lamar Odom Set To Fight Heavyweight Champ Riddick Bowe: Report

Following his victory in the ring last month, Lamar Odom is making a return. Celebrity boxing matches are all the rage at the moment as everyone from rappers to social media influencers to former NBA stars is showing off the best bob and weaves in the ring. Back in June, Lamar Odom faced off with Aaron Carter in a match that became a trending topic as the public trolled both stars for their moves. Carter seemed to spend most of his time running from Odom, helping the Los Angeles Lakers icon take the win.

Weeks ago, there were rumors that Odom had his heart set on another fight, and on Thursday (July 29), Odom’s opponent has been announced. This time, he isn’t going up against a child star but a champion boxer.

International Boxing Hall of Fame member Riddick Bowe is set to face off against Odom on October 2 in downtown Miami at the James L. Knight Center. ESPN spoke with promoter Damon Feldman who offered insight as to how this matchup came to be.

“He’s been asking me to do this for a long time,” Feldman said. “We just didn’t know when and will it be safe.” The fight will consist of three two-minute rounds and will wear 23-ounce gloves, however, a decision regarding headgear has yet to be made. This should be a bout for the books, but considering Odom and Bowe’s vast differences in experience, sports fans aren’t expecting the fight to get too crazy.

Russell Westbrook Traded To Lakers In Blockbuster Deal

Russell Westbrook is one of the best point guards in the entire league and while he is frequently criticized for his shooting ability, there is no denying that he is one of the hardest-working players in the NBA. He can get rebounds and assists at a monstrous clip, and when it comes to getting triple-doubles, he is the best to ever do it. Simply put, Westbrook is a machine and if you have him on your team, you are going to improve tremendously.

Just a couple of hours ago, rumors began to surface that the Los Angeles Lakers were close to a deal with the Washington Wizards that would send Westbrook to the city of angels. There were rumblings that this deal could come by tonight, although some fans were skeptical as to whether or not the Lakers could get it done.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Lakers did, indeed, get it done as they have officially acquired Westbrook. In return, the Lakers will give up Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell, and the 22nd overall pick in this year’s draft. From there, the Wizards will also give the Lakers a second overall pick in 2024 and 2028.

This is a move that gives the Los Angeles Lakers an official big three with Westbrook, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis. While the fit may seem a bit off here, there is no denying that opposing teams are about to get seized up on defense.

Let us know what you think of the trade, in the comments below.
