YSL RICO Trial: State Argues Against Young Thug’s Lawyers Vying to Remove Judge From Case

The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office  are fighting back against Young Thug and his co-defendant’s attorneys. The prosecutors just filed a response to a motion to have Judge Glanville removed from the case which has gone on for months on end.

ICYMI, Jeffrey Williams aka Young Thug, and his sharp legal team argue that Judge Ural Glanville should recuse himself, like get gone for good, from the Young Slime Life trial.

Get his, they want the prosecution off the case as well. All this came from a controversial June 10 meeting between Glanville, prosecutors, and witness Kenneth Copeland, who initially refused to testify. In other words, defense counsel should have been present for this meeting. They weren’t so they contend both the judge and the entire prosecutorial team should be kicked to the curb.

Simply put Attorney Brian Steel, who reps Williams, claimed they were not even informed of this “secret” meeting. When Steel refused to disclose to Glanville how he learned about the meeting, the judge held him in contempt. Remember that? Steel was made famous that day.

“Judge Glanville, lawyer Love, and lawyer Hylton have prejudiced and tainted Mr. Williams’ trial so deeply as Judge Glanville has not acted as a Judge but morphed into an essential part of the prosecution team,” the defense adamantly argued in its motion.

Here’s what the Fulton County prosecutor Adriane Love filed in the state’s response:

“Since no defendant in this case had a right to be present at the June 10, 2024, in-chambers meeting with Kenneth Copeland and his counsel regarding the contempt proceedings against Kenneth Copeland, the fact of the meeting provides no grounds for recusal of Chief Judge Glanville,” Love argued. Oh, is that right?

In fairness to Judge Glanville, he released the full transcript from the private meeting, which was included as an exhibit in the motions. But the defense wasn’t there so they feel the meeting was unfair at best and questionable to say the least.

That said, the YSL trial, already moving at snail’s pace is currently on hold, until another judge makes a ruling on Glanville’s status. Stay tuned.
