Trippie Redd has teased that his next album will be titled Love Letter. The 23-year-old rapper detailed his progress on the project during a new interview with Rolling Stone. News of the album comes just one month after the release of Trippie’s latest work, Mansion Musik.
“I’m trying to come up with the cover art and add a few songs for that record,” Trippie told the outlet. “So, I wanted to do this new one to do a Lil Wayne, Sorry 4 The Wait, type of deal.”
Trippie worked with Chief Keef on the previous effort, which boasts a 25-song tracklist. “I’m a big fan of Sosa. I reached out to people to be on the album that are Sosa-inspired. He invented the style of beats on this album,” Trippe said, before adding, “A lot of people don’t give him credit where it’s due.” The album features guest appearances from Future, Lil Baby, the late Juice Wrld, Travis Scott, Lil Durk, and many more, as well as Chief Keef.
Earlier in the interview, Trippie reflected on the era of rap he as well as Playboi Carti and Lil Uzi Vert came up in. He described it as one of the “best eras” of all time. Trippie released his debut mixtape, A Love Letter to You, back in 2017. The project peaked at number 64 on the Billboard 200. He later followed it up with several sequels over the years.
“The time and space we were in, at that era, was one of the best eras in music,” Trippie said. “Everyone was more open and trying to be pure. There was an open space to be creative in the music industry. Now, people are more like business partners.” He further compared it to the current era: “Now, people are more like business partners.”
