Bijou Phillips, the wife of former That ’70s Show actor Danny Masterson, has filed for divorce after her husband has been sentenced to 30 years for rape.
According to PEOPLE, Phillips filed for divorce in Santa Barbara, California, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for terminating their 12 years of marriage. Phillips requested spousal support and “terminate the court’s ability to grant support” to her soon-to-be ex-husband.
Additionally, Phillips is seeking full custody of their 9-year-old daughter Fianna and a split of assets by the court.
“Ms. Phillips has decided to file for divorce from her husband during this unfortunate time. Her priority remains with her daughter,” Phillips’s lawyer said in a statement.
Danny Masterson, actor with fame of That ’70s Show, was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for the rape of two women.
According to ABC News, 47-year-old Masterson was found guilty of two counts of forcible rape in May. He was handed two 15-year sentences that he will serve consecutively.
Masterson also faced a third count, but the charge was ousted after a mistrial.
Ahead of the trial, Masterson pleaded not guilty to the three counts. One of his victims was a former girlfriend. The alleged attack occurred between 2001 and 2003.
