SZA Gave Us A Classic Hit With “Drew Barrymore”

At this point in her career, SZA is a superstar who can hardly be rivaled. Overall, she has two incredible albums under her belt. Firstly, she came out with CTRL back in 2017. Over five years later, she returned by dropping S.O.S. Despite taking so much time between albums, the wait was actually very much worth it. She showed a ton of range and growth with this undertaking, and it was packed with hits. However, CTRL still holds a spot in a lot of people’s hearts as it came out during a lot of her fans’ formative years.

In fact, today marks the six-year anniversary of CTRL‘s release. It is hard to believe it has been that long since this album came out. However, time moves fast and this is an example of that. The project, which was released shortly after DAMN, remains a heavy-hitter in terms of singles. Of course, you have “Love Galore” with Travis Scott. Although perhaps the most powerful single was “Drew Barrymore,” which can be listened to below.

SZA Got Vulnerable With This Song

SZA delivered some gorgeous vocals on this song, as well as some sad and introspective lyrics. Although, the artist is pretty hard on herself on this track. However, that was very much the theme across the entire album. The artist reckons with past relationships and not feeling worthy enough. These are all some heavy themes, and SZA navigates them beautifully.

Let us know which song on CTRL is your favorite, in the comments section down below. Additionally, tell us which SZA album is your favorite. After all, both choices are pretty amazing. Quotable Lyrics:

Why is it so hard to accept the party is over?
You came with your new friend
And her mom jeans and her new Vans
And she’s perfect and I hate it
Oh, so glad you made it
I’m so glad you could come back
