NBC Sports has appointed Maria Taylor as the next host of Football Night in America, the most-watched studio show in sports. Football Night in America is NBC Sports’ premier studio show, airing every week throughout the NFL season and preceding Sunday Night Football – primetime television’s No. 1 show for 11 years. Taylor joined the show in 2021 as a co-host.
“Maria is the perfect choice to carry the legacy forward of anchoring the most-watched studio show in sports,” said NBC Sports Executive Producer Sam Flood.
Taylor, who was named one of Adweek’s “Most Powerful Women in Sports” for 2021, has hosted many of sports’ most-watched events and shows in the last year. She hosted the Tokyo Olympics, Super Bowl LVI Pregame Show, and Beijing Olympics and Paralympics after joining NBC Sports in July 2021. She has hosted the primetime network broadcasts of the NFL Draft and the NBA Finals before joining NBC Sports.
Taylor is executive producing and now in production on an eight-part documentary series about the history of the Black quarterback in the NFL, which will air on Peacock in addition to her hosting gigs.
