Rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow are among 32 alleged gang members who were arrested in connection to a string of Brooklyn shootings on Tuesday. The indictment alleges the defendants are all members of 8 Trey Crips and its affiliate, the 9 Ways gang. They allegedly committed shootings, possessed guns, and stole cars, all to eliminate rivals that included members of Folk Nation Gangster Disciples and ICG Babiiez. Altogether the indictment mentions 27 acts of violence, 12 of which are shootings.
“The senseless gun violence, allegedly committed by these defendants, terrorized our neighbors for years and left more than a dozen people with serious injuries. It is distressing to know that some of the violence was allegedly fueled by a young man who used money he made from a successful music career to allegedly pay for and encourage acts of violence,” Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said as noted by ABC7.

As for Sheff G in particular, the indictment accuses him of offering up money and expensive jewelry in exchange for the commission of violent acts. In one alleged incident, Sheff G organized a crew of three shooters, drove them to a crime scene, and then acted as the getaway driver.
“Sheff G became a prominent member of this gang and became central to our investigation,” Gonzalez said during a news conference. “Sheff G used a lot of the money that he earned to facilitate further gang activity. He encouraged gang members to participate in violent crimes.”
A shooting on October 21, 2020, left Theodore Senior, 23, dead as well as five other Folk Nation members shot and injured. For that attack, authorities are charging Sheff G with being part of the conspiracy to commit murder. Authorities alleged Sheff G hosted a lavish dinner at a Manhattan steakhouse to celebrate Senior’s death alongside eight of his associates.
