Shawn Kemp Reportedly Acted In Self-Defense, Police Audio Surfaces Online

Shawn Kemp has been hit with a massive controversy as of late. Yesterday, he was arrested in Tacoma, Washington after an alleged drive-by shooting. Overall, this is a story that immediately sent shockwaves throughout the NBA world. Following the Ja Morant news, NBA fans were simply shocked to see this go down with a legend like Kemp. According to TMZ, Kemp was trying to get back some stolen goods that were allegedly taken on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Kemp went to confront the alleged perpetrators, which then led to the alleged incident. In a video that was taken by a witness, Kemp could be seen driving off and throwing his gun into a bush. Subsequently, he found the police and immediately began talking to them as he wanted the authorities to track down the other half of the altercation. Eventually, he was arrested and booked on a felony drive-by shooting charge.

As you can hear above, the police say, “two subjects firing shots at each other.” Moreover, it was made clear following the incident that Kemp shot his gun over five times. However, it is also now being reported that Kemp allegedly acted in self-defense. As the story goes, when Kemp approached the vehicle to get his stuff back, the alleged perpetrators shot at him. This subsequently prompted Kemp to act in self-defense. No one was hurt during the incident, and as it stands, all claims are being investigated by the authorities.
