Seth Rogen Laughs At Kanye West’s Jonah Hill Apology Post

Kanye West had everyone mildly confused on Saturday when he issued an apology for the hateful comments he made toward the Jewish community. The Chicago rap star shared a photo of the 21 Jump Street theatrical poster and praised Jonah Hill (who refused to acknowledge the artist’s comments) for making him “like Jewish people again.” Major organizations like the American Jewish Committee and Stop Antisemitism rejected the apology as it didn’t come across with sincerity.

However, Seth Rogen feels as though the tongue-in-cheek apology could be a sign of Kanye West finally taking accountability. Rogan sat down with CinemaBlend to discuss the Super Mario Bros. Movie but he also provided a reaction to Ye’s post. After cackling at the post, Seth Rogen said that he’ll allow Jonah Hill to “have it.” “Happy to be left out of that one. But you know what? Good! Cured! They should send that movie around the world, let everyone watch it,” Seth Rogen said. “I wrote some jokes for that movie, so I feel slight ownership.”

Seth Rogen Laughs At Kanye West’s Apology

Ye’s recent apology a few months after a disastrous beginning to his press campaign. The man behind “Bound 2,” which Seth Rogen and James Franco parodied, went on a months-long media run, specifically on right-wing platforms, where he spewed anti-Semitic narratives as a means to push back against the media and corporate powers above him. Eventually, platforms like Instagram and Twitter gave him the boot for his hateful tirade, although they later reinstated his accounts.

The anti-Semitic tirade led to fractured relationships with brands like Balenciaga, Adidas, and GAP, a brand he previously signed a decade-long contract with. In a matter of weeks, Ye watched the multi-billion dollar empire he established crumble in front of him. It seems as though Kanye West is trying to repair the harm that he’s done but as the AJC and SA suggested, it will take far more than watching a buddy-cop film starring a Jewish actor.
