Russell Wilson is the Pittsburgh Steelers’ new quarterback. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Wilson will sign a one-year deal with the Steelers.

The deal, a vet minimum, will pay Wilson $1.2 million. The Broncos, who recently released the QB, will pay him $37.8 million as a part of his release.

Hitting social media, Wilson had a simple statement: “Year 13. Grateful. @Steelers”

SOURCE SPORTS: Fight Erupts Between LSU-South Carolina in SEC Title Game

A scuffle in the Women’s SEC championship game resulted in ejections of six players ebtwene the South Carolina and LSU basketball teams.

The game was chippy and physical the entire way through, leading to the fourth quarter moment where heated trash talk between South Carolina players and LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson escalated.

Johnson bumped South Carolina’s Ashlyn Watkins after she yelled at the former following a turnover. As an argument ensued, SC center Kamilla Cardoso charged toward the group of players forcefully pushing Johnson over.

From there, everything broke down, leading to players leaving the bench and even Johnson’s brother hurling a fan barricade and the scorer’s table to get to the field.

After the game, South Carolina coach Dawn Staley spoke to the moment’s intensity. “For us playing a part in that, that’s not who we are,” Staley said. “That’s not what we’re about.”

LSU coach Kim Mulkey delivered a different message: “It’s ugly, it’s not good, no one wants to be a part of that. But I’ll tell you this, I wish [Cardoso] would’ve pushed Angel Reese. If you’re 6-8, don’t push somebody that little. That was uncalled for in my opinion. Let those two girls who were jawing, let them go at it.”

Cardoso would apologize on X after the game.

South Carolina would win the game, continuing their undefeated season with an SEC championship.

SOURCE SPORTS: Baker Mayfield Agrees to 3-Year/$100M Deal with Bucs

Baker Mayfield is the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ immediate future. The journeyman quarterback found a home in Tampa last season, leading the team to a playoff run.

According to ESPN, Mayfield and the Bucs agreed upon a three-year deal worth $100 million, with $50 million guaranteed.

Under the deal, Mayfield would make $30 million this upcoming season, another $30 million in 2025, with only $20 million guaranteed, and $40 million in 2026.

“I wanted a chance to come back,” Mayfield said. “I love coach [Todd] Bowles and the staff. I’m happy to be here and I want to win more in the postseason.”

Al Pacino Skips Announcing Nominees In Confusing Best Picture Announcement, “Oppenheimer” Wins

Al Pacino awkwardly presented the award for Best Picture at the 2024 Academy Awards on Sunday night. After walking on stage, he appeared not to have prepared much to say, struggled to open to envelope, and announced Oppenheimer as the winner without reading the nominees. “Here it comes,” the legendary actor said while taking his time to open the envelope. “And my eyes see… ‘Oppenheimer.’”

“Wish Al would have read all of the nominees first. I was looking forward to seeing the sizzle reels, and a bit of tension. #Oscars,” one fan on Twitter wrote. Other nominees in the category included American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Barbie, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Past Lives, Poor Things, and The Zone of Interest.
