Quavo Allegedly Sent A Repo Man To Saweetie’s To Take Bentley Back, Twitter Erupts

Quavo and Saweetie’s public split has controlled the wave of conversation for many social media users as their messy split continues. Numerous third-parties have jumped in to weigh in on the breakup including the Migos’ rapper’s sister and Saweetie’s aunt, particularly struck by Saweetie’s “Take Care” two-liner response to Quavo. In some new–and disputed, developments in their split, media outlet MTO reported that a source close to Quavo claims he sent over a repo man to get back the $350,000 Bentley he gifted the Icy Girl.

If the outlet is to be believed, an “insider” claims that the Bentley was “leased” in Quavo’s name and he had an agreement with the dealership saying he could end the lease early for a fee. The dealership would then let him out of his contract, which is exactly what the “friend” is saying the Migos member did.

The ‘insider’ continued, “He’s not being petty or anything, but she’s on Twitter talking sh*t. So he took back the car”.

As has been emphasized, social media has been debating whether or not the MTO report is even accurate. Even while debating the truth of the report, Twitter users still got jokes off about the alleged repossession.

Quavo took back the Bentley from saweetie before she thought she could take off,” joked one user, using fellow Migos member Takeoff’s name to hone in the joke.

Television personality The Kid Mero wrote, “He took back a half a million-dollar car fam, he didn’t change his Netflix password lmao there’s a little bit of a difference.” Check out more memes about the whole debacle.

Lil Baby Demands Rematch Against Quavo & Jack Harlow

Many probably forgot about Lil Baby’s basketball skills by the time the Grammy awards rolled around last week. Despite not taking home a single award, his performance was one of the most talked-about of the evening, even if it wasn’t entirely positive. The rapper’s delivered a powerful performance of “The Bigger Picture” alongside Killer Mike and Tamika Mallory who called on Joe Biden to push for systemic change.

Even after such a critically acclaimed performance, it seems that the loss from the Bleacher Report 2-on-2 is still lingering at the back of Lil Baby’s mind. The rapper faced humiliation for his horrendous shot and overall handle but it appears that he’s readying to prove himself. However, he needs a few months to prepare. Baby hit IG story earlier today where he demanded a rematch against Quavo and Jack Harlow, as long as he could get three months in to train. “Give me three months Im setting one of these up!! Y’all got me fucced up,” wrote Baby.

The L seemed to be handed to Baby through the work of karma. Just days before, he belted out, “Quavo! JACK HARLOW! I don’t really think a n***a like Jack Harlow can beat me at nothing.” Perhaps he needed some help from Quavo but Jack Harlow proved Baby wrong at the end of the day.

Do you think Lil Baby can make up for the poor performance earlier this month? Sound off in the comments.

Blake Griffin Speaks On Upcoming Nets Debut

Blake Griffin’s time in Detroit was quickly dwindling down and after being released by the team via contract buyout, he was quickly scooped up by the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets are one of the best teams in the league regardless of Griffin’s presence and over the past couple of days, Blake has been preparing for his very first game with the Nets. It’s been a long time coming, but his debut is finally almost upon us.

According to ESPN, Griffin will play his very first game with the team on Sunday night against the Washington Wizards. Considering he hasn’t played in over a month, he will be on a minutes restriction, although as he explained to ESPN, he is well-aware of the fact that a restriction on his playing time was necessary.

“Nobody sits out for a month and then comes back and plays right away,” Griffin said. “So, I just want to be smart and listen to the people that know what they’re talking about and make sure I give myself the best opportunity to come in and contribute and be healthy for the playoffs and beyond.”

While Griffin won’t have a huge impact on tonight’s game, it will be great to finally see him on the court with his new peers. Griffin has a lot left in the tank, and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the Nets.

Ty Dolla $ign & Ant Clemons Highlight This Week’s “R&B Season” Playlist

It’s been an interesting week that ended with news of Quavo and Saweetie’s break up. It was an unexpected development but signs that things took a hard left emerged on Thursday night when the couple unfollowed each other on the ‘Gram after her appearance on Respectfully Justin. It’s unclear whether that was the root of their problems but clearly, heartbreak is in the air. That being said, here’s your breakdown for this week’s R&B Season playlist:

On Friday, we received a brand new cut from Ant Clemons who, just last month, celebrated the one-year anniversary of the release of HAPPY 2 BE HERE. Keeping the momentum high as the spring arrives, he returned with his smooth new single, “Story Of My Life” on Friday.

Ty Dolla $ign brought the posse cut into the world of R&B this week with the remix to “Be Yourself.” The Cali crooner enlisted Bryson Tiller, Jhene Aiko, and Mustard to help bring new life into the single.

Rising R&B star Asiahn kicked the year off with the release of her EP, The Interlude. Now, she returned with the orchestral version of the record that includes incredible renditions of “Messed Up” and “Gucci Frames.”

Check out this week’s R&B Season playlist update below.

Chika Roasts Perez Hilton For Intentionally Misgendering Her: ‘You Wanted To Defeminize A Black Woman’

Chika is enjoying a fairly good start to her 2021 year. She attended this year’s Grammy Awards in addition to being a nominated act in the Best New Artist category. She’s also a little over a week removed from the release of her Once Upon A Time EP. Despite this, she still faces disrespect from others on social media, and the latest example came from well-known blogger Perez Hilton.

It began when Chika shared a tweet about a past interaction with Hilton. “i distinctly remember perez hilton purposely misgendering me on here a couple years ago, but now his b*tch ass is playing cinderella (pt. 2) on his IG story without crediting me,” she said.

Hilton would respond in a now-deleted tweet writing, “Misgendering someone is assigning or referring the wrong gender to a person. I never gendered you. So the stupid one is you.” He added, “Hey, at least you’re stupid and making some money now. Xoxo.”

The rather tasteless response caused Chika to give the blogger a piece of her mind through a lengthy thread on Twitter. “1.) Saying he/she, even to someone whose gender you don’t know is wrong. Esp bc nonbinary and agender people exist. Which is why the majority of the intelligent population says ‘they,’” she said. “You adhered to the binary because you wanted to offend me, and that’s clear, doofus.” She added, “2.) You, yourself, as the f*ckin anal polyp you are have admitted that you know who I was PRIOR to ‘not gendering me.’ It was clear that I am a woman. But you trying to be cute actually showed your transphobia live and in stereo. You wanted to defeminize a black woman.”

In a third tweet, she continued, “3.) Even now, 3 years later, you’ve refused to acknowledge your sh*tty behavior — instead you’ve doubled down after using MYYY content on YOUUUR dead Instagram. You don’t have [the] decency to apologize for that, you tw*t.” In additional posts, she called Hilton the “cancer of an industry that will make my family wealthy forever,” a “waste of an existence,” and a “vile human being.”

You can watch the interaction in the post above, which Chika reposted on Instagram with the caption, “wanna see a ded bawdy?”

Fat Joe Addresses Controversy Surrounding ‘Wuhan Virus’ Bar On “Talkin’ Back'”

Benny the Butcher dropped off his latest effort The Plugs I Met 2 last Friday (March 19). While the album garnered attention for its Benny and Harry Fraud’s magical chemistry, Fat Joe’s guest verse on the track “Talkin’ Back” has taken center stage, with many accusing the rapper of perpetuating anti-Asian rhetoric.

In a failed attempt at displaying his lyrical wit, the rapper waived political correctness and ended up delivering an insensitive bar that could be interpreted as promoting anti-Asian rhetoric. “Threw that white up in the pot, gave ‘em pipe dreams/And watch it spread like the Wuhan Virus,” spit the Bronx native.

In wake of the tragic hate-driven mass shooting in Atlanta last week against the city’s Asian population that left six women dead, the rapper potentially creating space for more harassment towards the community was instantly condemned. Catching wind of all the backlash, Joe took to Twitter to explain that he recorded the verse over a year ago when media outlets and publications were still problematically referring to COVID-19 as the ‘Wuhan Virus.’ The harm in the term wasn’t seen until months later.

“I’ll address the Benny verse i did that verse a year ago when the news was calling it the wuhan virus before they called it COVID,” Fat Joe wrote. “I support and love all my asian brothers and sisters never hate.”

While Fat Joe’s explanation makes sense, it still does not fully absolve the rapper from any fault. With hate crimes against the East Asian community increasing since the start of the pandemic, even releasing the verse in today’s climate was stilll incredibly harmful.

How do you feel about Joe’s apology? Let us know below.

Bam Adebayo Puts Domantas Sabonis On A Poster With Monstrous Dunk

Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat have had their struggles throughout the early parts of 2021 although over the last few weeks, they have been showing improvement, and they are one of the harder teams to go up against. Today, the Heat were going up against the Indiana Pacers in a match that at the time of writing this, is tied at the end of regulation.

So far, it’s been a pretty good game although the biggest highlight to come from it is the clip below. As you can see, Bam Adebayo went up for a dunk on the likes of Domantas Sabonis, and he absolutely posterized him. Sabonis tried to take a charge but in the end, it was no match as Adebayo went up and performed an incredible dunk that had everyone on the Heat bench going wild.

Adebayo’s dunk belongs among the best of the year thus far, including the one done by Anthony Edwards just a few weeks ago. Fan reactions to the dunk were also quite intense, and overall, you’ve got to hand it to Adebayo for putting on an athletic display that would make Michael Jordan proud.

Let us know what you think of this dunk, in the comments below.

Mir Fontane Releases Latest Project “Melody Monster”

Mir Fontane’s run in 2020 was impressive. He released three projects and a slew of singles, maintaining his momentum into the new year. This month, the rapper returned with his latest body of work, Melody Monster. Laced up with 14 songs in total, Melody Monster is an excellent showcasing of his ear for production and versatility as a rapper. It includes the recently released singles like, “Call J. Cole” and “Made In Trauma.” No credited features on the project, proving that Mir is truly a force to be reckoned with on the microphone.

The latest project arrived after a brief controversy involving Cardi B. Last month, the rapper and Mir Pesos claimed that the Bronx rapper bit the hook to their single, “Stuck.” Though it’s unclear what has occurred in recent times regarding the record, Mir Fontane wasn’t lying when he told us it was “back to our regularly scheduled programming.”

Check out his latest project below.

Plies Warns Miami Spring Breakers They Won’t Be Treated The Same As Capitol Rioters

As Spring Break season arrived upon us, despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic–albeit nearing the end of it, thousands of young people still traveled down to Miami to celebrate. Similar to last year’s chaos, spring breakers flooded South Beach, hardly social distancing or wearing masks. This prompted Miami Mayor Dan Gelber to declare a state of emergency in the city as well as an 8 pm, forcing tourists to stay in their hotel rooms during curfew hours. The city has used intense force to keep the restrictions in place, leading many people like Plies to warn the mainly Black and brown spring breakers to tread lightly.

“Dear Miami Spring Breakers: Be Careful,” wrote the 44-year-old. He continued, “Just Remember U Will Not Get The Sme Nice Treatment They Gave The Rioters @ The Capitol On Jan. 6th!!!! They View Y’all More Dangerous!!!!”

Tensions between tourists and police came to a final battle when Miami PD turned away thousands of people from Ocean Drive using a SWAT truck, pepper balls, and sound cannons. At least a dozen arrests were made during the altercation, and the city has vowed to continue to

They have received criticism for the new ordinances from Black leaders in the area. “I was very disappointed,” said Stephen Hunter Johnson, the chairman of Miami-Dade’s Black Affairs Advisory Committee on Sunday morning. “I think when they’re young Black people [on South Beach], the response is, ‘Oh my God, we have to do something.’”

Mayor Gelber has said the new regulations are to maintain order. “Too many are coming, really, without the intention of following the rules, and the result has been a level of chaos and disorder that is just something more than we can endure,” Gelber told CNN about the new restrictions.
