Kevin Durant Rookie Car Breaks Record At Auction

Kevin Durant came into the league all the way back in 2007 when the Oklahoma City Thunder were still the Seattle Supersonics. It was here that Durant showed flashes of brilliance and it was clear that in due time, KD was going to become a superstar. Since that time, Durant has played for the Golden State Warriors and now, the Brooklyn Nets. However, since the Supersonics no longer exist, you can imagine just how valuable any KD Seattle memorabilia must be.

Well, a perfect example was shown recently as a Durant rookie card was sold by Goldin Auctions for a whopping $799,500. This is the most a KD card has ever gone for, and in just a few years from now, it’s safe to say that the card will be worth well over $1 million.

Since the start of the pandemic, the NBA trading card market has absolutely skyrocketed as collectors begin to consolidate their collections. In fact, the market has transitioned to the crypto space as NFTs have led to big businesses like NBA Top Shot. With the market expanding like never before, it’s safe to say that cards will continue to elevate in price.

If Kevin Durant and the Nets win a title this year, it might be time to start sifting through your collections for a KD gem from the past. You never know how much it might be worth.

Iggy Azalea Speaks On 2019 Robbery In Leaked Footage

In November of 2019, Iggy Azalea’s Atlanta home was burglarized, with the thief ultimately making off with what was said to be approximately three-hundred-and-sixty-six thousand dollars worth of rings, chains, bracelets, watches, and more. The rapper was actually home at the time of the robbery, though Iggy did not actually cross paths with the thief; it was reported following the incident that she thought she heard footsteps and thought nothing of it.

Now, bodycam footage has leaked revealing Iggy’s interactions with the police following the robbery, where she shared her version of events. When asked about the value of the stolen goods, Iggy estimates that nearly one million dollars worth of jewelry was taken, reiterating that it was all ensured. Another clip finds her explaining the situation in-depth, stating that she and a friend were in the basement of the mansion while then-boyfriend Playboi Carti was recording music. Upon hearing footsteps, the pair went to investigate and assumed that Carti had returned for a forgotten laptop; “it happens all the time,” says Iggy.

When he returned home a few days later, Carti found that his jewelry was no longer in the house. Upon realizing that the footsteps were not, in fact, those of Playboi Carti, they checked the security camera for clarification. “I saw a man, wearing a mask, black gloves, with a gun,” says Iggy. “He’s out here looking through all our windows for twenty minutes. It’s all on the footage.” She proceeds to point out the robber’s route, and reasons that he had “been to the house before,” given his knowledge of the valuables and their location. You can check out the footage for yourself below, as shared by Akademiks.

Yaya Mayweather Goes Viral Again For “Back In Blood” Reaction

It’s not the smartest thing to go clubbing right now but, if you were at any events during NBA All-Star Weekend in Atlanta, you were bound to hear Pooh Shiesty’s hit record “Back In Blood” with Lil Durk. The song has gone global in recent weeks, going viral on social media with one of the most-heard rap lines all year. People love to scream out Durk’s “that’s my dawg” lyric, but one person went viral herself for her obvious disdain of the song.

Yaya Mayweather, the latest addition to Youngboy Never Broke Again’s vast list of ex-girlfriends, was partying at the same club as another one of his exes, Jania Meshell, being spotted with their sections right next to each other. A few weeks ago, Yaya’s reaction to “Back In Blood” went viral after she whined, “turn this weak-ass song off”. Nobody else at the party seemed to care that she wasn’t feeling the song choice. The video has been recreated countless times on social media, and Yaya was faced with more embarrassment when the song started playing as she turned up at the club with her friends.

A new video shows Yaya and her entourage remaining completely still as the song plays. Yaya appears to take a phone call as the entire club happily blurts out Durk’s lyrics, while people in her crew try and resist the urge to sing and dance. In the other section, Jania was enjoying the song, dancing with her girls.

Many believe that Yaya’s aversion to the song has to do with her connection to Youngboy Never Broke Again, who is close to Quando Rondo. Because of what happened between Quando and King Von at the end of last year, some have suggested that Yaya is only trashing Durk’s part on the song to support the father of her newborn son.

Ja Morant Reveals Why He’ll Never Be In The Dunk Contest

Typically, the NBA Dunk Contest is one of the best parts of All-Star weekend. Unfortunately, that was not the case last night as the contest left a lot to be desired. While Obi Toppin, Anfernee Simmons, and Cassius Stanley put up some nice dunks, they simply weren’t anywhere close to the efforts of their predecessors. Not to mention, the fans felt like the judges messed up once again, which led to a bit of dialogue on Twitter.

NBA reporter Taylor Rooks was one of the main voices when it came to the judges, and Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant decided to weigh in. As he explained, he agrees with the criticism of the judges and even noted that their bias is ultimately why he chooses not to participate in the contest.

Rooks noted that Morant should at least try it once, but for now, it seems like Morant is quite content to miss out on it entirely. At the end of the day, it’s a commitment that isn’t necessary and it makes sense as to why players would just prefer to skip out completely.

Hopefully, Morant changes his mind in the future, as we know he can put up some pretty incredible dunks.

Bruno Mars And Anderson .Paak Really Want Silk Sonic To Perform At The Grammys This Year

Over the weekend, the Recording Academy announced its list of performers for this year’s Grammys ceremony, which includes Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and other big names. A pair of artists was excluded, though, and they’re not pleased about it: Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, who are now collectively known as Silk Sonic. The two were so flabbergasted by their absence from the list that they took to Twitter to vent their frustrations and rally the Academy to give them a shot.

Yesterday afternoon, .Paak shared a graphic of the performers list and tweeted, “YO @BrunoMars WHAT THE F*CK?!? Did you see this?!?! Call me back!!” Mars replied, “Wait… are you sure this is even real? where did you find this?” That was the beginning of a playful back-and-forth, which .Paak continued, “Bro it says CBS right at the top! It’s legit. What the F*CK!!?! ANSWER YOUR PHONE!!”

Mars answered, “Are you sure these are performers and not just presenters,” to which .Paak replied, “FAM STOP!!! Did they even hear the song?!? They don’t love us??” Mars then shared a revised image of the list and wrote, “See @AndersonPaak You’ve been misinformed. This is the real real bill. we’re all good!” As .Paak quickly pointed out, though, “And we’re not on this either you PRICK!!!” That elicited a simple “Oh” from Mars.

This is when .Paak got the ball rolling, tweeting, “Do we need to get a hashtag going or something??” Presumably rubbing his eyes while tweeting his response, Mars wrote, “Andy just chill. i’m still waking up.” .Paak was unrelenting, responding, “Nah f*ck that! I haven’t seen my family in months!! I need this to work, You promised me!! Everybody join in!!! I need all of Twitter to help make this trend!! Come on @RecordingAcad #LetSilkSonicThrive.” Mars answered, “I don’t think this is how u get on a show @AndersonPaak, & that’s a pretty long hashtag but i’m rockin wit you. #LetSilkSonicThrive.”

Mars then shared a letter that read:

“Dear Grammys,

If you can see it in your hearts to allow two out of work musicians to perform at your show, we would really appreciate it. We just released a song and could really use the promotion right now. We have a lot riding on this record (and the Pelicans game next week, but that’s another story). We haven’t been able to perform for a while and we just want to sing. We’ll send in an audition tape and take as many covid tests as we need to. I promise we won’t be extra. We just really want a gig again. I hope you’ll consider this request and give us the opportunity to shine. Love, Silk Sonic.”

.Paak added, “WHAT HE SAID! #LetSilkSonicThrive.” .Paak later noted that the hashtag had become a trending topic on Twitter, writing, “@RecordingAcad I know you see this!! We doing real numbers out here!! You can’t ignore the people!!!#LetSilkSonicThrive.” Mars responded, “Yo!!! @AndersonPaak It’s working! you’re a real twitter wizard! @RecordingAcad please log on and look at this!!! #LetSilkSonicThrive.” Mars added, “Wow this started with just us 2 and now we’re a whole army! There’s nothing we cant do. First the Grammys then the world! UNLIMITED POWERRR!”

Still, it would seem .Paak lost hope in the cause, as he was quick to attempt to hop on the BTS train, tweeting, “Bro the @RecordingAcad haven’t even responded… @bts_bighit do y’all need a drummer? #LetSilkSonicThrive.” Mars responded, “You’re right. I got excited we were trending for a while today. I’m sorry I let you down. I hope you & BTS go on to do great things,” to which .Paak replied, “You never let me down champ! Only disappointed me. But sh*t atleast it’s top trending! Don’t give up hope! Either The Grammys or BTS is gonna hit us Back I know it. thank you guys so much!!! #LetSilkSonicThrive.”

Mars and .Paak are certainly fit to appear on the Grammys stage, as they are both accomplished veterans of the awards: Mars has picked up 11 Grammy wins from 27 nominations, while .Paak has 3 wins from 7 nominations.

That’s where the situation stands now. It’s not clear if this is some sort of elaborate social media campaign leading up to an official announcement of Silk Sonic’s addition to the Grammy performance lineup, if this is actually how Mars and .Paak are trying to get involved, or if they’re just goofing around and getting some viral self-promotion in on Twitter. Either way, check out the tweets here or below.

NBA All-Star Dunk Contest Left Fans Feeling Disappointed

Last night was the NBA All-Star Game and as per usual, we also got to see the dunk contest. This year’s edition of the contest had three-main competitors, including the eventual winner Anfernee Simmons, Obi Toppin of the New York Knicks, and Cassius Stanley of the Indiana Pacers. For the most part, each competitor delivered some competent dunks that showed off what each player is truly capable of on the court.

There are some fans who came away from the event feeling as though Toppin was snubbed, while others felt the same way about Stanley. Needless to say, this contest wasn’t even close to the same quality as the one we saw last year, which saw Aaron Gordon delivering some godly dunks.

As a result of the mediocre dunk contest, many fans on Twitter were not happy, and they voiced their displeasure. Even Magic Johnson was vocal about the contest saying “TBH this wasn’t the most exciting Slam Dunk competition I’ve ever seen.” Considering Magic is someone who always looks for positives, this is a pretty big indictment on the proceedings.

It was hard to find players willing to do the dunk contest this season, especially with how the judges typically treat the players. Not to mention, COVID made it harder for players to want to travel. Needless to say, these factors led to some underwhelming events.

Gunplay Under Fire For “Racist” Video Insulting Asians

Rapper Gunplay is firing back after Worldstar posted a video of him responding to somebody on his Instagram Live, calling them all kinds of racial slurs and attempting to explain that he isn’t racist toward Asian people by saying that he watches Japanese porn.

The Florida rapper is under fire after a video came out of him verbally attacking an Asian fan on his live, calling them very offensive names. “You f*cking chink gook f*ck,” said Gunplay in the video. “You gook piece of sh*t. You f*cking Chinese gook. You f*cking Lo Mein, Lao Mein, corona-having ass motherf*cker. You’re the one that f*cked up this whole sh*t.”

He continued to spew more xenophobic hate in the video, which was posted by Worldstar. He responded on Instagram, somehow making matters even worse. “@worldstar STOP POSTING MY RACIST SETUP BULLSH*T JUST FOR THE VIEWS,” wrote Gunplay. “IM RACIST NEVER HAVE BEEN AND NOW CAN PLEASE POST THIS OR U DONT WANNA HEAR ANYTHING POSITIVE FROM GUNPLAY WHO HASNT HAD ANY ISSUES WITH MEDIS SINCE 2012 RESPECTFULLY POST THIS OR TAKE DAT SH*T DOWN AND TELL GEO TO CALL MY PHONE WE GOTTA TALK.”

In the video, Gunplay tries to explain that he’s not racist because he watches Japanese porn. “They got me on there hating on Asians, dawg, when I love Asians. I watch Japanese porn. So shut the f*ck up, first of all.”

He claims that the person he was talking back to was trolling him and calling him racial slurs, as well. “If you come on my live trying to fight, I’m gonna shoot you in the front of your forehead with my words,” he said. “I f*ck with the Asian community, my jeweler is Asian. I have no problem with Asians. I would love to f*ck an Asian b*tch. I’ve been to the motherf*cking massage place, I f*cked one before. They got some good p***y. I’m tryna get me some Asian p***y and y’all f*cking me up now.”

In recent weeks, there has been an increased amount of hate crimes against Asian-Americans, especially older individuals, prompting the hashtag #StopTheAsianHate to grow in popularity.
