NBA Twitter Trolls Doc Rivers Over Ben Simmons Comments

Doc Rivers is the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers this season and he has plenty of great players around him, including the likes of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Both of these guys have been playing at an elite level and at this point, it is looking like Embiid could very well find himself with the MVP trophy. Of course, there is no telling whether or not this is what’s going to happen, but for now, chances are good that he will at least be a finalist.

While appearing on ESPN’s The Jump, Rivers was asked about his two superstar players and what he thinks they will win this season. Rivers noted that Embiid deserves the MVP award, although he had some interesting comments about Ben Simmons winning defensive player of the year.

“Ben is a lock to me. He just—he guards every position,” Rivers said. “And he makes such a difference. And not just at the rim. It’s everywhere. He literally at times swallows players. And I’ve not seen that.”

The phrase “swallows players” led to a whole lot of hilarity on social media as Twitter users immediately started issuing “pauses,” all while making fun of Rivers’ word choice. NBA Twitter ended up doing what it typically does best, and you can see all of the hilarious replies, below.

YG’s Drake Collaboration “Who Do You Love” Was The Perfect Single For ‘My Krazy Life’

These days, veteran Compton artist YG has been focused on developing the artists signed to his 4Hunnid label, including Day Sulan, D3Szn, Mitch, and Tay2x. Nearly a decade ago, however, YG was still putting most of his energy into his solo career, and seven years ago today, on March 18, 2014, he released his debut album My Krazy Life. Three years after landing the XXL Freshman cover alongside household names like Kendrick Lamar and Mac Miller, YG stepped up to the plate and delivered what many consider to be a modern West Coast classic.

Prior to its release, My Krazy Life boasted some pretty huge singles, including “My N*gga” with Jeezy and Rich Homie Quan and “Who Do You Love?” with Drake. Thanks to its buzzing singles, YG’s debut album caught the attention of Hip-Hop fans who still weren’t sold on the Compton-born artist, and once it was released, the project was lauded with critical acclaim.

As a result, on its eight-year anniversary, we remember one of the singles that kicked off YG’s superstardomMy Krazy Life‘s third single, “Who Do You Love?” The Drake-assisted track sparked a fair share of controversy regarding Drake’s verse heavily pulling from Rappin’ 4-Tay’s “Playaz Club,” but all in all, the Mustard-produced song was an energetic record that found both YG and Drake in an infectious bravado-driven form.

What was your favorite album cut from YG’s debut album?

Jim Jones Reflects On New York’s Reluctance To Support Its Own

Jim Jones has been consistently delivering some truly impressive New York hip-hop, including his most recent Harry Fraud-produced album The Fraud DepartmentGiven that he’s been at it for decades now, having played an integral role in the legendary Dipset movement and beyond, Jones is about as solid an authority as they come. Today, the rapper spoke to The Breakfast Club about his own experiences navigating the New York scene, sharing what he feels to be a major downside to coming up in the Big Apple.

The conversation occurs after Charlamagne notes that New York tends to miss out on some of the best artists from the city, with the host citing Nicki Minaj and 50 Cent’s deals with Cash Money and Shady/Aftermath respectively. “It seems like it’s the hardest thing for a New York artist to get signed in their own town,” remarks Jones. “Not only signed in their own town, but get radio play in their own town. As you can say, I made some of the best music out of New York in the past couple of years but I don’t get played on the radio at all.”

He notes that he’s not calling out The Breakfast Club, but rather the belief that “research” should drive what ultimately gets radio play. “The whole playing field is kinda backwards right now for a New York artist,” he continues. “I think we need to invest more in New York artists, because we getting kinda hot. And these young kids out here are drilling, they got this music that’s going crazy — New York feels good. And we know our music, you go to any lit spot and they’ll play ten New York records back-to-back — but we’ll never heard them ten records on the radio.”

Earlier, around the twenty-two-minute mark, Jones reflects on how his close friend Fred The Godson didn’t receive the flowers he deserved, explaining that he believed a label should have done their part in supporting the elite lyricist. “I don’t think too many people in New York understand how nice Fred was. He was one of the few who didn’t get his flowers when he was supposed to,” Jim said. “One of these labels was supposed to scoop him up, help him get a dope ass deal, and make an incredible album because he had the mindset and flow to go with it when it came to making music.”

Former President Barack Obama is a huge basketball fan and every single year, he comes through with his very own March Madness bracket. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 last year, Obama was unable to create a bracket or even see whether or not the bracket was successful. This year is much different, however, thanks to the fact that the entire tournament will go on as planned, much to the delight of basketball fans all across the United States.

Today, Obama released his full bracket for this year’s tournament and as you can see in the photo below, he has gone for the more conservative choices. Obama has Gonzaga winning the whole tournament in a matchup against Illinois.

Brackets are easily busted throughout March Madness as upset victories are typically plentiful. With this in mind, one bad game from one of these number one seeds could easily throw a wrench in Obama’s plans. Besides, the actual probability of getting every pick right is slim to none, especially when you consider how it has never been done.

Let us know what you think of Obama’s picks and make sure to give us your own, in the comments below.

Justin Bieber Gets Cease & Desist From Dance Duo Justice Over New Album Cover & Merchandise

With the release of his highly-anticipated sixth studio album Justice arriving on streaming services in a matter of hours, Rolling Stone reveals that Justin Bieber has been slammed with a cease-and-desist letter from French electronic dance music duo Justice. Although Rolling Stone reports that Justin’s legal team has rejected the notice, the French duo is alleging that Justin Bieber is knowingly infringing on Justice’s trademark.

While some skeptics may be quick to jump to the conclusion that the Grammy-winning electronic dance duo (consisting of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay) is merely pursuing legal action because of Justin Bieber‘s album title, the cease-and-desist letter is mainly focused on the “Holy” singer-songwriter using a replica of the duo’s iconic logo, which notably transforms the “t” in the word’s spelling into a large cross.

According to Rolling Stone, Justice’s team was shocked to see a slightly modified version of their logo plastered on Justin Bieber’s new album cover when the singer announced Justice on February 26. In their cease-and-desist letter, Justice’s legal team presents receipts that show Justin Bieber’s team contacting them to get in contact with the graphic designer behind Justice’s logo, but although they attached a photo of Justice’s logo as a reference, they never mentioned anything about the album. Now, Justin Bieber’s alleged rework of Justice’s logo will appear on his new album’s artwork as well as various album merchandise items, which are already available for sale.

In the letter, Justice’s counsel addresses Justin’s alleged trademark infringement and writes, “Through your illegal co-opting of the Mark, you are now subject to immediate legal action and damages including, but not limited to, punitive and injustice relief. Not only was Bieber’s team actually aware of Justice’s use of the Mark, they sought to use the same artist to essentially duplicate it for the Album. This is textbook bad faith and willful infringement”

Touching on Justice’s notoriety, the duo’s counsel also tells Rolling Stone, “Justice is not an obscure artist. They just won a Grammy for Best Electronic Album [in 2019]. They’ve headlined festivals all over the world.”

Despite this development, Justin Bieber’s sixth studio album Justice is still set to release at midnight, so stay tuned for updates regarding Justice’s sure to come legal actions.

Megan Thee Stallion Just Raised The Bar Again With New Thirst Trap Pics

Megan. Thee. Stallion. Over the years, the Houston Hottie has leveled up to become one of the strongest forces in the music industry, getting close with Beyoncé and Jay-Z and delivering some outstanding musical releases. With “Savage”, the superstar rapper reaped the benefits of her incredible rise by bringing home three Grammy Awards, including for Best New Artist. She’s been celebrating with her boyfriend, rapper Pardison Fontaine, but she continues to keep her fans updated with photo and video content on social media.

The tour de force isn’t only a threat when it comes to her music. Megan can shut down the internet in a matter of minutes when she posts a new picture, repeating the cycle with each new thirst trap. She’s developed a method that keeps on paying off, posting some of her hottest pictures, dropping jaws, and doing it all over again. She came through once again this week, sharing some eye-catching pics on Instagram.

In between posts of her stunning Grammy Awards gown, Stalli got into Young Tina Snow form by draping herself in a diamond-dripping ensemble, complete with a bedazzled cowboy hat and a crystal thong. The pictures are available to buy as posters on Megan’s shop. “Honestly just waiting for HotGirl summer to start,” wrote the rapper as her caption.

In a second post, she showed off some of her favorite assets, highlighting her bust and behind without even showing her face. The post was meant to showcase her new nails, but we all know nobody was paying attention to her manicure. “Uon even gotta see yo face to know u fine,” wrote Yung Baby Tate in the comments.

Young Dolph & Key Glock Return With “Sleep With The Roaches”

Key Glock and Young Dolph are set to once again channel Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels for another installment of Dum & Dummer. The sequel, which is set to land on March 26th, remains an anticipated drop from both parties, though many hope it will fare better than its cinematic counterpart Dumb & Dumberer. Luckily, early signs appear promising, especially in the wake of their new single from the project “Sleep With The Roaches.”

Premiering the track on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio, Key Glock explains that the production immediately inspired him to go hard. ” My adrenaline just got the rush,” he reflects. “It’s just like when I see money, my adrenaline get the rush. So it’s like, when I heard that beat, I just got in my mode.” Unsurprising given the quality of the frantic instrumental, which is swiftly attacked by both parties, both of whom engage in an unspoken competition to squeeze more flexes into a given verse.

In the same Beats 1 interview, Dolph shares a few thoughts on the forthcoming project, teasing that it will be an improvement on the first — already a high bar, to be sure. “This second one though, it’s a vibe,” he explains. “It’s like an hour-long vibe. 20 tracks or something. And it’s just a whole vibe from beginning to end.” Be sure to check out “Sleeping With Roaches” right now, and sound off if you’re eagerly awaiting the release of Dum & Dummer 2 on March 26th.
