Master P Says DMX Overdose Could Have Been Prevented

Hip-hop legend Master P is praying for DMX, who was admitted to the hospital on Friday following a heart attack. The prolific rapper has reportedly been on life support since last week after suffering a drug overdose. Many of the greats have extended their positive wishes to the family of DMX, real name Earl Simmons, who remains in “dire” condition in White Plains, New York.

TMZ cameramen recently caught up to Master P to get his thoughts on the heavy situation regarding DMX’s health crisis. As the 50-year-old rapper fights for his life, Master P suggested that his overdose could have been prevented, urging the hip-hop community to rise up and create a union to protect rappers from going off the rails after their careers have come and gone. Much like how retired basketball players often become analysts or coaches, Master P would like to see rap adopt a similar union to prevent future crises like this.

“DMX is an icon,” started Master P. “I just hate that we have to wait for something to happen to one of us before everybody really starts saying how much they care and love you. We got to figure out how to prevent that. The truth hurts– drugs done killed a lot of our great ones. It’s sent a lot of them to prison. I’m praying for DMX and his family. I hope that people start celebrating these icons while they’re alive. Imagine all the stuff that we could have prevented for DMX to help him. I feel like hip-hop needs some type of union. The NBA has it. What happens when a guy falls off after he done sold millions and millions of records? We need that.”

Master P theorized on ways to kickstart this movement, believing that it starts with education.

“I think it starts with education. I want to really start educating our people and letting them see that– even LeBron and KD, Kyrie Irving, everybody that represents Black Lives Matter, when the NBA talks about they’re putting money back into HBCUs, I want to see where that money go at,” he added. “The education that we can invest in the next generation, we can prevent this. If you look at all the heroes and stars that we lost– I mean, hopefully, God turns this around. DMX, come back to us. Let’s see if the people that’s out here that’s making noise for him be there for him.”

Do you need there needs to be some sort of union created in hip-hop?

Lil Nas X Shakes His Jiggly Butt In The New Video Game ‘Twerk Hero’

Lil Nas X is diversifying his empire. Aside from music, he recently released a best-selling children’s book, C Is For Country. Now he’s getting into video games, as he has released a new one based on his “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” video, called Twerk Hero.

In the browser game, the player controls a 3D model of Lil Nas X, facing backwards with his hands on his knees, in full twerk position. The player is instructed to “grab the booty and hit the incoming temptations,” and when players drag Lil Nas X’s rear end around, there are some impressive jiggle physics at play as his butt hits incoming quad-directional indicators, much like Guitar Hero or Dance Dance Revolution.

“Montero” has generated a ton of attention, enough to where it just debuted in the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it Lil Nas X’s second No. 1 single following “Old Town Road.” He also got parodied on Saturday Night Live, where he was portrayed giving a lap dance to God. His “Satan shoes” also led to some controversy, as Nike took legal action against the maker of the limited edition shoes, to which Lil Nas X has a characteristic reaction.

OutKast Sparks Debate After Co-Signing Claim About The Beatles

Even if you’ve only ever taken one popular music theory class, you’ve heard all about how revolutionary and ground-breaking The Beatles were. The earth-shattering group made up of John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr is widely known as the greatest band to ever exist. Beatlemania saw fanatics go to extreme lengths to breathe the same air as the four Englishmen. But are The Beatles really the greatest band of all time?

The Atlanta-based rap duo OutKast, which consists of the legendary André 3000 and Big Boi, seemingly beg to differ. With plenty of iconic moments that revolutionized the way hip-hop was approached for years to come, OutKast remains one of the most influential groups of all time. But are they better than The Beatles? Three Stacks and Big Boi brought the debate to their fans, prompting them to take a trip down memory lane to determine whether OutKast legitimately had a bigger impact on music.

“When society admits OutKast is better than The Beatles then we can truly start healing,” wrote Chopped 420 host Ron Funches on Twitter. The tweet made its way to OutKast’s desk, who shared it from their account and added the eyeballs emoji, appearing to be impressed with the take.

This begs the question: Is OutKast better than The Beatles? Let us know your opinion in the comments.

Wiz Khalifa Praises Black Thought: “One Of The Best Rappers To Ever Live”

As we all continue to hope and pray that DMX pushes through, the Hip-Hop community has definitely learned over the past week how important it is to give people their roses while they can still smell them. There has been an outpouring of support for DMX, and along with it, several people have taken the time to share their personal moments with DMX and show how much they mean to him, Wiz Khalifa included

After showing love to DMX, Wiz Khalifa was apparently in a similar mood yesterday, as he decided to take to Twitter to offer some praise to one of Hip-Hop’s veteran artists: the lead emcee of The Roots, Black Thought. Before unleashing his hot take, Wiz prefaced his subsequent mini Twitter rant by saying, “Gotta couple random tweets.” After dropping that disclaimer, the Taylor Gang artist let off a few random statements —‌ including and “Stop puttin the syrup in the fridge” “Bong rips plus waffles equals got damn” —‌ but none of them were as significant as what he had to say about Black Thought.

In the tweet, Wiz simply writes, “Black Thought is one of the best rappers to ever live.” The Pittsburgh rapper’s praise for Black Thought comes weeks after Questlove discussed why he thought that Black Thought was “blackballed” by other rappers, but according to Wiz Khalifa, that hasn’t stopped Black Thought from being great.

Do you agree with Wiz Khalifa’s opinion that Black Thought is one of the best rappers of all time?

NBA Youngboy Pictures Leak From Jail Showing Rapper In Good Spirits

A picture of Youngboy Never Broke Again flashing his pearly whites behind bars began circulating on social media on Wednesday, giving fans of the 21-year-old rapper an eye into how he’s feeling since his incarceration two weeks ago. Following the initial picture’s appearance on the web, a handful of other photos from the same set have been leaked, showing more of the rapper’s latest flicks from the big house.

The photos were seemingly taken as Youngboy took a phone call. He smiles widely in one of the shots, surely excited to be contacting somebody on the outside. During the call, he’s surrounded by other inmates. The rapper wears an orange jumpsuit without a face mask.

The new photos of Youngboy have been shared on popular hip-hop blog pages across Instagram and Twitter, including by DJ Akademiks, a close friend of YB. People in the comments are pointing out the rapper’s fresh braids, wondering who took the time to get Top looking right behind bars. Others are pointing out how happy he appears in the pictures.

Youngboy is presently facing up to ten years in prison with some lawyers stating that it will be “very hard” to avoid jail time since the rapper ran from the cops during his arrest. He was reportedly denied bail after allegedly skipping out on a mandatory drug test.
