50 Cent Tried To Stop Snoop Dogg From Smoking Weed On “BMF” Set

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks… After it was revealed that Snoop Dogg had joined the cast of the highly-anticipated upcoming show BMF, based on Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory’s Black Mafia Family drug-trafficking operation, 50 Cent was excited to welcome the legendary rapper onto the set to start shooting. However, he had a few reservations about having Snoop on set– most notably, the prominent smell of weed smoke coming from the man’s trailer.

According to a new post on 50’s ever-popular Instagram page, the rapper/television producer asked Snoop to stop lighting up, likely making the request out of respect for his castmates and the crew on the premises. However, he learned the hard way that there is no getting Snoop to stop smoking pot

“This is how @snoopdogg looked at me when i told him he can’t smoke weed on set,” wrote Fif as his caption, showing Snoop with a vintage afro, sideburns, slick shades, and gold chains, giving a straight-faced response to the former G-Unit leader. “He said the f*ck you talking about 50 it’s legal.”

As always, a number of celebrities could be found cracking up in 50’s comments section, including LeBron James, Jackie Long, Joseph Sikora, and more.

Snoop Dogg was previously cast as a spiritual advisor in the upcoming series. His addition to the cast was revealed alongside La La Anthony and others.

Do you think Snoop stopped after 50 asked?

The Harlem Cultural Festival Is Celebrated In A Teaser For Questlove’s ‘Summer Of Soul’ Documentary

Back towards the end of 2019, it was revealed that Questlove was working on what is now titled Summer Of Soul (…Or, When The Revolution Could Not Be Televised), a documentary about The Harlem Cultural Festival, a six-week festival that took place right around the same time as Woodstock. Now, the first teaser for the film, which is set to premiere in theaters and on Hulu on July 2, has been shared.

An official statement describes the film:

“In his acclaimed debut as a filmmaker, Ahmir ‘Questlove’ Thompson presents a powerful and transporting documentary — part music film, part historical record created around an epic event that celebrated Black history, culture, and fashion. Over the course of six weeks in the summer of 1969, just one hundred miles south of Woodstock, The Harlem Cultural Festival was filmed in Mount Morris Park (now Marcus Garvey Park). The footage was never seen and largely forgotten — until now. Summer Of Soul shines a light on the importance of history to our spiritual well-being and stands as a testament to the healing power of music during times of unrest, both past and present. The feature includes never-before-seen concert performances by Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Sly & the Family Stone, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Ray Baretto, Abbey Lincoln & Max Roach, and more.”

Back when the project was announced, Questlove said in a statement, “I am truly excited to help bring the passion, the story and the music of the Harlem Cultural Festival to audiences around the world. The performances are extraordinary. I was stunned when I saw the lost footage for the first time. It’s incredible to look at 50 years of history that’s never been told, and I’m eager and humbled to tell that story.”

He also told Variety in an interview earlier this year, “”Woodstock happens in two weeks after this and it defines a lifestyle, it defines a generation. Woodstock, the city name alone, just defines a whole movement. And I kept wondering what would have went down if this were allowed to happen for [Black people]. If this were allowed to unfurl and and spread across the world as Woodstock did, how much of a difference could that have made in my life as a music lover and as a music collector? So, then I just felt this the sense of purpose that I have to tell the story.”

Air Jordan 4 “Red Thunder” New Details Unveiled

This year has been pretty massive when it comes to sneakers. Every single brand has been working overtime to deliver some great new models to consumers and Jordan Brand has certainly been one of the imprints at the top of their game. They have numerous retros coming out this year and they also have some new colorways of old classic silhouettes. One of those aforementioned models is the Air Jordan 4, which is always a welcomed addition to any sneaker collection.

The “Red Thunder” model is one that has been teased a couple of times on HNHH and the concept is simple. It takes the old yellow “Thunder” model from back in the day and replaces the yellow with red. This creates a dope aesthetic that can be found below, thanks to a photoshop rendering from @zsneakerheadz. Now, it has been revealed that the tongue and the back heel of the shoe will have a Jumpman logo which means all of you “Nike Air” fans might be a little disappointed. Regardless, this is still a nice colorway as you can never go wrong with black and red.

For now, it is believed that these will be dropping on October 2nd of this year, so stay tuned to HNHH as we will bring you all of the latest updates.

Drake Co-Signs Coi Leray

Even some of the most tapped-in industry insiders couldn’t have predicted the remarkable rise of 23-year-old rapper Coi Leray. Daughter of the infamous Benzino, the “No More Parties” artist has been having the most surprising success of the year thus far, completely blowing the roof off of previous expectations and reaching new heights in her career. As she prepares the release of her upcoming debut album, Coi seeks to shock the world once again in the coming weeks.

Continuing her tremendous success this year, it looks like the “Big Purr” trendsetter has officially attracted the attention of one of the music industry’s most prestigious co-signs: Drake.  Posting not one but two Instagram stories of Coi’s latest performance, Drake was impressed by the young go-getter, praising her on social media.

Posting a picture of the rising star in a crouching position during her performance, rocking a Chrome Hearts sweatsuit, Drake tagged Coi and gave her her most beneficial co-sign to date. In a second post, he showed a different angle, overlooking the rapper as she commanded a crowd of hundreds in front of her. Do you think Coi might have been blessed with a spot on Drake’s highly-anticipated upcoming album Certified Lover Boy? Only time will tell.

Drake was also spotted with JID on the same night, giving him a major co-sign as well and continuing his string of giving well-deserved props when they’re due.

Eminem Reveals His Rarest Hip-Hop Classic Cassette

Eminem has always been a collector, a fact he reminded his fans in his official Shady-Con announcement statement. “I’ve been collecting since I was a kid, everything from comic books to baseball cards to toys, as well as every rap album on cassette I could get my hands on,” he explained. “Not much has changed for me as an adult.”

Throughout the past few years, Em has made no secret of his appreciation for rap history. In a 2019 Instagram post, he broke down the reason he keeps classic albums lined on his t-shirts at every show. “Hopefully, some of ya’ll might go buy their albums,” he reflected. “Might go look em’ up. Maybe you don’t know who Masta Ace was, or Kool G Rap. I feel like you need to know because what they did for hip-hop is so fu*king incredible because they made it go to that next level.”

Suffice it to say, Em’s love of the classics runs deep. So much so that he has been steadily amassing a collection of hip-hop cassette tapes, and during a recent appearance on Clubhouse, he opened up about his rarest find thus far — a copy of Nas’ 1994 classic debut Illmatic.

The conversation took place in an official Shady Con room, in which Paul Rosenberg and DJ Whoo Kid were also present. “My most coveted was probably Nas’ Illmatic, he admits. “Man, I couldn’t find that shit nowhere. I finally found one, and it cost like five, six hundred dollars. For a sealed copy. Because who the fuck had a copy of Illmatic and didn’t open it. Nobody.”

“I think it’s backstock from records stores had in the back storage,” he continues. “That’s the only thing I can think of. Cause nobody’s going to have a fu*kin Illmatic tape and not open it.” When one participant claims they have an opened copy of The Slim Shady LP on cassette, Eminem gives a frank assessment: “twelve cents.”

DMX’s Friend Hijacks Memorial Stage & Gets Kicked Off: Watch

We witnessed a beautiful memorial service for the late Earl “DMX” Simmons this weekend, which was broadcast from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. There were amazing performances planned by Kanye West and the Sunday Service choir, as well as plenty of other artists who shared moments in DMX’s legendary career. There were also touching speeches from members of Simmons’ family and his close friends.

Unfortunately, one of the rapper’s closest buddies from the last twenty years, Jungle, was supposedly pretty upset that he was not invited to speak in front of the crowd of thousands so he took matters upon himself and stepped onto the stage to address the masses. Jungle interrupted the flow of the memorial, upsetting many in attendance, including Pastor AR Bernard, who kicked the man off stage.

Right when he began introducing a story that he wanted to tell the crowd, which he never got to conclude, Jungle was interrupted by Pastor Bernard, who told him that there was order to be maintained. “You violated your respect,” chastised the Pastor. “You disrespected my house. You disrespected my house. Regardless of how good you think what you’ve got to say is. You’ve disrespected my house. God bless you, my brother.”

Jungle was quickly escorted off of the stage before the memorial service went on as scheduled.

The moment has been often discussed across social media, with some people taking the side of Jungle, a man who has been friends with DMX for over twenty years. Others have backed up the Pastor, explaining that Jungle had no right but to interrupt the process. What do you think? Should Jungle have been allowed to end his story despite the interruption?

Steve Kerr Reveals Klay Thompson’s Recovery Progress

Heading into this season, the Golden State Warriors were confident that they would be back to how they were in 2015 and 2016, before Kevin Durant showed up. Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, and Draymond Green were all going to be healthy and it was going to be a lot of fun in the Bay Area. Unfortunately, prior to the start of the season, Thompson tore his Achilles, just a few weeks after fully recovering from his torn ACL. It was a truly devastating injury that is forcing Thompson to miss two straight seasons.

Thompson has been working hard to come back from the injury and recently, Steve Kerr told the media about where Thompson is in his recovery timeline. As it stands, the next big step for Thompson is to start running again and Thompson is just two weeks away from that activity.

No matter what, it would appear as though Thompson will not be coming back at all this season, which will allow him to have a fresh start as of next season. The Warriors will appreciate having him back on the floor, and hopefully, he can get back to his normal self.

Stay tuned to HNHH as we will be sure to bring you all of the latest news and updates from around the NBA.
