Jeezy Credits Snoop Dogg And E-40 For Helping Him Get ‘Back On The Right Course’

More than a decade and a half ago, Jeezy arrived on the hip-hop scene as one of the earliest trap artists in the genre, joining the likes of T.I. and Gucci Mane. In the years that followed, Jeezy, who hails from Atlanta just like the other aforementioned artists, would go on to drop well-appreciated albums and mixtapes and grow into one of the most respected rappers from that time period. However, in Jeezy’s own words, his rise didn’t come without lessons from a pair of rappers that came before him, them being Snoop Dogg and E-40.

During an appearance on Spotify’s Best Advice podcast with Kim Bennett Taylor, Jeezy shared a time where Snoop Dogg and E-40 “g-checked” him after a run-in with the law during a video shoot.

“Snoop Dogg and E-40 they looking at me like I’m crazy. Say ‘you know what? You know what’s the difference between you and Pac?’ and I was just like ‘Whoa.’” he said on the episode. “I’m like ‘OK’ and they just went on to say ‘Yo listen, he never stopped what he was about. He never let up on his people. He never…’ and it was like ‘Yo, you, you better get out here and do what you’re supposed to be doing. Because these people believe you and they riding with you. And you ain’t moving right. And we telling you that.”

Jeezy continued to praise and thank Snoop and E-40 for their actions. “I don’t really think, you know, Snoop and E40 and those guys get enough credit for who they really are, man,” he added. “Like you know, those guys save lives you know what I’m saying. And, and, and they definitely got me back on the right course but they’ve been through what I’ve been through.”

Not long after the unexpected brawl at Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul’s press conference erupted earlier today (May 6), the boxing icon sat down for an interview with Barstool Sports. Mayweather chatted with The Sundae Conversation with Caleb Pressley and although the boxer had calmed down tremendously after the heated exchange, it was clear that there was still a fire burning inside.

Jake Paul has continued to taunt Mayweather after snatching his hat off of his head and trying to make a run for it. Clips of the incident have been shared and reshared online as it shows Paul receiving the hands-on treatment from Mayweather and his camp.

“Today, I had a small problem. A little problem. The Game Drops His “Top 10 Rappers Alive” List & Fans Were Surprised

It’s about that time again for another Top 10 Rappers list, this time courtesy of The Game. Every time an artist comes forward with the “Top” lists, Rap fans storm social media to once again debate the greatest Hip Hop artists of all time. Recently, Trippe Redd revealed his Top 5, a list that includes the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Lil Wayne, Andre 3000, and Drake. He added that Uzi and Carti are “GOATs from our era.”

The Game’s list included three of Trippie’s choices along with seven other familiar names.

“My top ten best rappers alive list in order (Not including myself),” The Game began. “1. Jay-Z, 2. Nas, 3. Lil Wayne, 4. Eminem, 5. Kendrick, 6. Snoop Dogg, 7. Drake, 8. Andre 3000, 9. J. Cole, 10. Lil Baby.” After he concluded he added, “And by the way, I’ll go bar for bar with anybody on this list.”

Fans were quick with their responses and although Lil Baby is dominating the industry, some people told Game that 50 Cent or Kanye West deserved a spot on that list. Others took issue with artists like Busta Rhymes, Ice Cube, Ab-Soul, Rakim, Black Thought, and several members of the Wu-Tang Clan being excluded.

Back in 2015, Game noted that his “Top 10 Greatest Rappers” list included, Rakim, Jadakiss, and Ice Cube. Check out The Game’s tweet along with a few responses below.

Pete Davidson Says Kid Cudi’s Music Kept Him From Taking His Own Life

Last month, Kid Cudi raised eyebrows when he took to the Saturday Night Live stage to perform “Sad People.” There wasn’t anything too abnormal about the display, but some viewers were up in arms after seeing Cudi wearing a dress—one reportedly inspired by a gender-bending look once donned by late musician Kurt Cobain. Cudi, and SNL, received backlash from people who didn’t want to turn on late-night television and see a man in a floral garb, but in his recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Pete Davidson came to the rapper’s defense.

The SNL star is familiar with his fair share of controversies on and off the show and condemned “close-minded” people who attacked the Cleveland emcee.

“I loved it. I thought it was great,” Davidson remarked about Kid Cudi’s dress. “When you get criticism like that… It’s just like, okay cool. Those are people I don’t really want to associate myself with anyway. People that are that close-minded. I thought it was really cool and like a really cool tribute. Virgil [Abloh] made it, it’s sick. They’re gonna sell it as a unisex dress. I thought he killed it.”

Elsewhere, Davidson shared that Cudi’s music was instrumental in keeping him from taking his own life. “I would’ve killed myself,” said the actor. “Absolutely. One hundred percent. I truly believe if ‘Man on the Moon’ didn’t come out, I wouldn’t be here.” Davidson also added that he was thrilled to have the opportunity to do a music skit with Cudi during the episode.

6lack Accompanies Spinall And Fireboy DML For A Remix Of Their Summery Track, ‘Sere’

While his own artistry is absolutely something to recognize and appreciate, 6lack’s ability to stand beside a variety of artists no matter the genre is another quality that makes him great. In just the past few months, the Atlanta-born singer — who switches hats to rap on songs at times — has worked with the likes of JID, Lil Durk, Lil Tay, and Melii.

As he’s done a few times in his career, 6lack returns to the afro-fusion lane for a remix of Spinall and Fireboy DML’s “Sere.” The summery track takes life on Spinall’s 2020 album, Grace, and with 6lack’s addition, the song gets a nice boost without moving away from its original structure.

As of late, 6lack’s been a busy man. In addition to providing great guest features on a number of tracks, he singer stood by his fellow LVRN labelmates for a hard-hitting Rap Caviar cypher. With OMB Bloodbath leading the way, new names to the roster like NoonieVsEverybody and BRS Kash followed suit with confident verses of the own.

Next, the more familiar names of the label, Westside Boogie and 6lack himself, delivered bars of their own. Boogie’s verse focused on his fame and how it impacted his life and the lives of his homies while 6lack’s own was a slick-lipped contribution filled with enough metaphors to remind you of his original rap upbringing.

Jake Paul & 50 Cent Continue To Troll Floyd Mayweather Following “Gotcha Hat” Moment

After Floyd Mayweather and Jake Paul got into a little scuffle at Mayweather’s press conference for his upcoming Logan Paul fight, it was only a matter of time before 50 Cent came through with the taunts. Fif and Floyd were once bosom buddies back in the day, but in recent years, they’ve been trading potshots online. The Rap mogul is known for his trolling skills and has often made a meme out of Mayweather, and this time around is no different.

Social media has kept Mayweather and the Paul brothers as trending topics on just about every platform throughout the day as the “gotcha hat” moment is replayed by the thousands. Mayweather’s heated reaction has been hailed as justified by his fans, but Fif cracked jokes about the champion boxer’s facial hair.

50 Cent posted a screenshot of Mayweather’s angry reaction and in his caption wrote, “[eyeball emoji] WTF going on, on champ head [laughing emoji] I heard he had his pubic hairs put on his face. Lol.” The Power mogul isn’t the only person teasing Mayweather as Jake Paul has taken to his Instagram Story to troll his boxing foe.

Paul revived an old clip of Mayweather claiming to be his trainer and telling the world to keep a lookout for the rising boxer. In another, Paul films himself apologizing for his actions before immediately backtracking laughing at his viral moment. Check it out below.

40 Cal’s Missing Daughter, Saniyya Dennis, Believed To Have Taken Her Own Life: Report

After over a week of endless searching for 19-year-old Saniyya Dennis, her family has been hit with devastating news. The Hip Hop community gathered together to help spread awareness about rapper 40 Cal’s missing daughter by sharing posts, photos, and helping to pass out flyers. Saniyya’s loved ones have openly criticized the initial launch of the investigation as they claimed that authorities weren’t doing enough to locate the SUNY Buffalo State College student.

Saniyya has been described as being a responsible honor student who received a full scholarship to college. The ongoing investigation has caused Erie County District Attorney John Flynn to conclude, as he shared in his press conference on Thursday (May 6) morning, that Saniyya may have taken her own life.

On the evening of her disappearance, Saniyya reportedly got into an argument with her boyfriend who lived in New York City. He broke up with her, and she called a friend in the city to talk about the fight. She then called her ex over 50 times, but he didn’t answer. She reportedly texted him, “I’m not feeling good, I think I’m going to kill myself,” and “I’m so done with my own life I’ve had enough.” The ex-boyfriend never responded to her messages.

After leaving campus and arriving at Niagra Falls via bus in the middle of the night, authorities claim Saniyya texted a friend. “I’m sorry I lied. I will not be joining you this summer, at least physically,” she reportedly wrote. “Thank you for making my day special.” Cameras then captured the teen walking toward Goat Island and they continued to follow her until she reaches a bridge. She spoke with a friend on the phone for about 45 minutes, telling them she intended to jump but changed her mind. 

Saniyya reportedly continued to text a male friend, telling him she had an emotional conversation with her mother where they cried but upon checking her phone records, authorities determined that call with he mother never occurred. While still on Goat Island, she reportedly texted a friend that she planned on taking a bus home and she would let him know when she arrived. One minute after that text was sent, Saniyya’s cellphone drops from the network. Police believe it was either turned off or somehow destroyed.

The teen’s friends texted her to check in but never received responses. The friend Saniyya was communicating with didn’t initially tell investigators about their exchange. Authorities reportedly used a K9 unit to track Saniyya’s scent and the dogs began at her dorm room and ended at the railing on Goat Island. It’s reported that the police dogs attempted to jump into the water.

It is important to note that it is not yet known what happened to Saniyya Dennis and the conclusion that the DA shared is speculative based on the facts they’ve received. Our hearts continue to be with 40 Cal and Saniyya’s loved ones during this difficult time.
